Happy Tuesday, sweet friends! It has been a beautiful spring thus far in our Appalachian Foothills. We normally skip springtime and go straight to summer, but this year has been an exception. April has given us 60’s and 70’s in the daytime, quite a few nights in the 40’s, and only a few days in the 80’s!
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Psalm 73:26
Long-time readers know that I love color! After all, God has created and designed our world with stunning colors for us to enjoy!
When the tablecloth and napkins arrived, I knew immediately that I would style the table using blue and white!
Late winter of last year I was invited to be an April Cornell Brand Ambassador. Each season they give me an opportunity to make three choices from their tablecloths, napkins, placemats, and pillow covers. They make a decision from what I select and it is a fun surprise when I open the beautifully boxed set! When I first saw the “Everlasting” tablecloth in red, I knew it would be one of my three choices. The pattern is exquisite as are the “Camp Plaid” napkins and the blue “Essential” napkins. I also received an “Everlasting” pillow cover. I have been a fan of April Cornell’s linens for years and have a rather large collection. The patterns are always charming and colorful and the quality is outstanding! Many of you have asked about my tablecloths, and almost always they are April Cornell. I am not a paid brand ambassador. I consider it an honor to be chosen when a new season rolls around!
I set this up quickly to take a few photographs to post on Instagram, with no intention of making a blog post. But, after seeing the photos, I thought you might enjoy this explosion of color! American Atelier “Baroque” chargers, Spode “Blue Room” dinner plates, Spode “Jasmine” salad plates, and “Spring Prelude” dessert plates by Paula Deen complete the plate stack. Cobalt bud vases were filled with blooms from RM’s wildflower mix he planted last year. This spring they have delivered an amazing show! Favorite glasses were ordered from Horchow many years ago and are no longer available. Twig flatware was from Pier 1. I am still sad about the closing of their retail stores! The ginger jar, marked James Kent, England, is a favorite gift from a long-time friend.
You might think at first glance this is the same photo as the one above. Look closely, do you see one change? I changed the Spode dinner plate to a Majolica green dinner plate to bring out the beautiful shades of green in the tablecloth.
I plan to use the tablecloth for a 4th of July post. It is appropriate for any spring or summer day…such a happy pattern!
I love the borders on April Cornell’s tablecloths. I normally request the 54 inch square that is called a breakfast cloth. It is perfect for my round table in the Sunshine Cottage, round table in the garden, and the picnic table.
Thank you for joining me at the picnic table! I love your visit and gracious comments.

I am a huge fan of April Cornell cloths and napkins. Her patterns are always so appealing, a bit old fashioned (in a good way) and yes, you are right-the border is the charming “icing on the cake”. You made such a pretty table here. All of the colors are so vibrant and as always, you paired everything perfectly. That ginger jar sure is pretty too.
Thank you, Ruthie. I agree the AC linens are a bit old-fashioned. I think that is one reason I love them!
So pretty Pam! The red floral pattern is so vibrant and cheery, especially accented by your yellow rimmed plates. I love April Cornell, you have the most gorgeous collection of linens. We’ve enjoyed some of the same beautiful spring weather. Happy Tuesday ♥
Thank you, Mary. Wishing you a lovely day and week 💚
Good Morning Pam… Such a pretty table you have set. I, too, enjoy April Cornell linens and have a few. They are so colorful.
Dining outside in your beautiful gardens is a lovely setting to share your colorful table. Thank you, my friend. Have a fabulous Tuesday!
Thank you, Nancy. Wishing you a wonderful day and week!
The tablecloth is perfect for an outdoor setting. I love it.
Thank you, Leslie Anne!
What a beautiful tablescape Pam! Your AC linens are just gorgeous. I love the vibrant colors. AC has so many lovely linens and I’m so happy that you’re a brand ambassador for them. The green plate adds a nice layer of another color. I have so enjoyed the weather this April. Happy Tuesday! Clara❤️
Thank you, Clara ♥️ Did you get a frost on Sunday night?
Pam, I’m so happy you decided to do a blog post with these beautiful linens paired with your talented styling. Everything looks just lovely. The pretty wildflower bouquets and plate stacks compliment the linens perfectly. I absolutely adore the colors and floral pattern of the tablecloth. I may have to break down and purchase one. Have a most wonderful day, sweet friend!
Thank you, Shannon. I use to find older AC linens at TJ Maxx, but I haven’t seen them in a long time!
Wow! And Wow again! I am a child of color also. What a nice thing that April Cornell chose you to be an ambassador. Her tablecloths are very well made and her sense of color is outstanding. And your imagination in order to coordinate dishes to go with her cloths is amazing. A perfect pair.
Thank you, Alice. I remember your love for color!
Oh Pam, this table is just stunning! Wow, the colors are amazing! Lucky you to receive a surprise package every season from your favorite linen designer! I love the red white, blue and yellow, so perfect for summer and it looks amazing in your woodland setting and the wildflower vases are perfect~ Beautiful!
Jenna
Thank you, Jenna. I do love getting the surprise package!
Oh my goodness, those colors make my heart happy! What a luscious shade of red. Even on a dreary February day, your April Cornell tablecloth would be a perfect cheer-you-up splash of color. It makes the blue&white sing.
PS… Tell Butch I learned from one of his posts last year about the tulip poplars in my own yard. They are dropping the pretty blossoms now, but they must taste terrible. The pups keep picking them up and immediately spit them out!!
Thank you, Roxanne! Interesting about the taste of the tulip poplars, I will share that with Butch! Happy Tuesday!
I love April Cornell and this table cloth is just gorgeous. Your table looks so beautiful and inviting. Happy New Week. Enjoy. Hugs. Kris
Thanks so much, Kris. Happy Tuesday!
Pam dear ~ You have outdone yourself…. what a beautiful setting…. that tablecloth is a stunner and I love the edging on those plaid napkins. Wish those glasses were still available…they are perfection and probably so adaptable with many other color stacks. Even RM managed to capture the color theme… What a happy table…
Thanks so much, Mary. Wish you could join me!
I would love to have a picnic at your beautiful colorful picnic table! How pretty Pam. I hope that your week is lovely. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Thanks so much, Cindy!
As a fellow lover of color, I was delighted by your table setting. When you added the green plate it took it to a whole new level. Planning a table as close as I can using my things and these linens!
Thank you, Christine! I know your table will be beautiful!
I love April Cornell and these patterns and colors are beautiful. Your table setting is so pretty with the burst of beautiful colors and trees for a background. I’m glad you posted! Lovely to see………
Thanks so much, Emily!
That table is so cheerful. Blue and yellow is a favorite color combo of mine and I’m wild about your dishes. They look lovely on your new tablecloth!
As always, thank you Jeanie!
Hi Pam, I have a couple AC tablecloths. One was disappointing because it has the typical wide border but it doesn’t lay flat. I probably should have tried to return it but I had washed it as I always do before I use new linens. Your table settings are always beautiful.
Thank you, Vicky. That is disappointing that one did not lay flat. I am sure they would have corrected the issue. Wishing you a wonderful week!
A lovely, colorful tablescape set in a beautiful outdoor setting! Now what is on the menu?!
Thank you, Mary! What would you like?
Pam! I love all your table settings and look forward to them each week! I too fell in love with April Cornell linens years ago. Our son and his wife lived in Burlington Vermont for awhile and her store there was just yummy! This week’s really pops! I don’t use red myself yet your use of blue and yellow with the red were just what these eyes needed after weeks of continuing gray and cold here in michigan, I have a question….as a blue fan and a gardener. Are those beautiful vases still available somewhere? You have sparked some creative thinking in me. 💜
Thanks so much for your sweet comments, Shelley! I have had the cobalt bud
vases for at least 20 years. I think I found them at Hobby Lobby. I haven’t seen them anywhere in a very long time. Check Amazon and hopefully they will have them. Happy Wednesday!
Shelley – I saw some lovely cobalt blue bud vases on eBay which
might fit the bill….
Oh this is like a breath of fresh air! Beautiful tablecloth and napkins. The red is gorgeous. Pretty flowers on the dishes. Your spring weather sounds lovely!
Thanks so much, Liz. Wishing you a lovely weekend!
Oh my goodness Pam – this is absolutely gorgeous!! I love the brilliant red background on the table cloth and the blues, yellows, and greens of the flowers and leaves give many options of how to style it. It looks beautiful with the blue, white, and yellow plate stack, and the cobalt vases and speckled goblets. The napkins are just perfect too. What fun to receive a surprise package in the mail. I can’t wait to see how you style it for the 4th. Beautiful!
Thanks, sweet Kim! The cloth offers plenty of options!
Love this beautiful table Pam. You are a great ambassador for AC. I too love these bright and vibrant colors.
Thank you, Dianne!
I’m an old-fashioned girl myself and love just about everything April Cornell produces. She would undoubtedly be so pleased with what you do with her linens! This tablescape is no exception.
Thank you, Nancy for your gracious comments!
