Happy Thursday! Astronomical Summer (summer solstice) begins on Wednesday, June 21st. Meteorological summer began June 1st and it has definitely arrived in the Deep South!
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16
I love setting a table in the garden during the summer months, in spite of the heat and humidity. Our garden often provides the flowers for the centerpieces!
A Flower Arrangement From The Summer Garden
It is most satisfying to walk into my garden to cut zinnias, limelights, and sunflowers for a pleasing centerpiece!
A plate stack mimics the colors found on the April Cornell tablecloth!
All of the hydrangeas in the centerpiece are from my friend’s hydrangea farm…Snowflake, Invincibelle Spirit, Let’s Dance Moonlight, French, and Annabelle! You can never go wrong with a vase filled with hydrangeas!
The gorgeous quilt, ‘Grandmother’s Flower Garden’, was handed down to me from my paternal grandmother, a gift money could not purchase! I would never serve food on or near it, but it is too pretty not to enjoy!
A table set to celebrate our pollinator friends…the bees!
Bees are here because of the flowers. Flowers are here because of the bees.
Our Sunflowers and zinnias are magnets for bees and butterflies!
Heat and humidity are always factors for alfresco dining. The picnic table next to our woodlands provides shade and often an afternoon and evening breeze!
A majolica vase of garden flowers, majolica plates on stands, and ‘Botanic Garden’ salad plates provide a welcome to summer!
Lemons seem to speak of summer! Who doesn’t love an ice cold glass of lemonade on a hot and humid day?
This remains one of my favorite tablescapes from the archives!
Most of us think of the beach as a summertime destination. Do you have plans for a beach vacation this summer?
The color of the hydrangeas complement a collection of seashells and this long-ago acquired shell box! The linen tablecloth reminds me of the white sand beaches on our Alabama Gulf Coast!
A vintage Waverly sheet as a tablecloth provides a summery feel to the picnic table.
A vase of hydrangeas are always perfect for the summer season!
Once again, hydrangeas were my flower of choice!
An April Cornell tablecloth highlights the colors of the arrangement!
I hope you will join me next Tuesday for a Summer Tablescape Blog Hop! There will be plenty of inspiration for your summer get-togethers!
Thank you for your visit and gracious comments. Wishing you a joy-filled day!

Each time I see that you’ve sent us a post I look forward to reading the Bible verse snd Colossians 3:16 is perfect for this post. Full of joy and singing. Your imagination is my joy today. So much to love about every picture. Your grandmothers hand made quilt is a beauty. I collect majolica and oyster plates. They really are a picture of how to put colors together.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I love majolica. I only have a few old pieces. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you, Alice!

Good morning dear Pam! I join everyone in saying I could not possibly pick a favorite tablescape. Each one is uniquely beautiful. Your grandmother’s quilt is exquisite, what a treasure. I sure am enjoying these long hours of daylight. The skies are here are quite hazy from the Canadian wildfires. Are you getting smoke too?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Roxanne. Today is the first day that we have had hazy skies. Happy Weekend!

The table scape archive supreme ~ you are a wonder of gathering and assembling
what is beautiful and compelling. I join the chorus celebrating your Grandmother’s
quilt, wisely used only for “display”….There is something about hydrangeas’ place
in table adornment…right? steals the show… Our oakleaf blossoms this year are
rewarding us for “giving them one more year to pour forth”. Simply breathtaking.
Prayers for all those affected by the Canadian fires.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, praying for all those impacted by the fires. Thank you, Mary. I hope you are having a great day!

Such a pretty round-up of beautiful summer tables and I adore all the various hydrangeas in their vases. We can not grow hydrangeas here in Florida …so I am having hydrangea envy. Your precious quilt is a treasure and thank you for sharing it and all the wonderful tablescapes. Hugs my friend.

Thank you, sweet friend!

What a gorgeous round-up of alfresco tables you have shared Pam! All very unique and different. The quilt is so very precious and I love the colors that you chose to go with it. But I think my favorite is the lemon table with that beautiful tablecloth and those gorgeous snowflake hydrangeas. However, it would be a treat to sit at any of these tables. Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I am also partial to the lemon table. Thank you, Kim!

These summer tablescapes are gorgeous! I wish I was able to grow flowers in my yard that I could cut and use in decor. I just kill anything that doesn’t have an actual pulse in my house. A green thumb isn’t something God gifted me with! My favorite, I think, is the hydrangea and seashells tablescape. I’m visiting from Katherine’s Corner. If you get a chance, hope to have you stop by & share on Crafty Creators Link Party (LifeasaLEOWife.com). Have a great weekend!
