We are going down memory lane somewhat today, looking at a few pics from September’s past. It is so hard to get my mind settled on the fact that September is more than half gone. Pam and I have been traveling all of this past week, making it difficult to capture changes and findings around our place. Hopefully in the coming days we will have some things to share that were discovered last week!
It only takes a little morning fog or dew to show off the web master’s overnight intricate art work! I don’t like spiders in particular but they are amazing if you think about it…all creation is!
While zinnias are determined to be around until frost, sunflowers are usually ready to give it up by September. These are waving goodbye. If I would take the time to stagger the sunflower plantings, I think we could definitely keep some in season a little longer.
Our community is really called Turkeytown, and so is this creek! And, the water is cold, even on a hot summer day!
My my, 2 years have passed and the girls have grown so much, maturing into those long standing titles of Princess and Queen!
Me and Mr. Blue Eyes have now switched from playing with plastic toys on the top of furniture, to metal construction toys outside on a dirt pile…and we both love it!
I don’y know if we will bring in as many pumpkins this season as before. We decide every year that we will cut back and go with only a few, but that never happens. When September rolls around, PJ just can’t help but somehow exposing herself and catching “pumpkin fever”! It’s just so contagious.
This walk will look very different soon when leaves will take on their new look as green fades and fall colors slowly arrive. Autumn peak color for us is normally not until early November so much change is yet to come!
A shrimp po’boy with fries is good any time, but best eaten outside, on the patio, on a late September afternoon with a light breeze!
I am always on the lookout for barns.
Appalachian Media has allowed us to use many photos of places in our area and they are always outstanding. This happens to be one of my favorites. Farm country with Weiss Lake and the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains in the background at sunset is pretty amazing!
I’m thinking this crop, when harvested, might end up…
…here, or in a similar silo close by!
A friend in Montana shared this with me. It’s from September 2020 when Seth and I were in southwest Montana for a few days. Sometimes you are just at the right place at the right time (and it helps to be a good photographer). I wish I could claim this one, but no!
For those of you not familiar with this white fuzzy-like stuff that is found growing on a plant…it is almost harvest time for cotton here in the south. I do see some fields “white unto harvest” in September but most picking seems to occur in October and November, at least that is my observation.
Beauty berry (or beautyberry) is always a favorite when September and October arrive. The deep purple color and the way the berries grow along the stem makes this wild plant quite nice to have around this time of year. I do see quite a few of these in gardens and yards. We have a good number of the plants in spots along our trails and pasture edges.
Nearby Noccalula Falls can be reduced to a trickle in dry August and September but not always so. A fair amount of water was taking the dive on this day!
The Sunshine Cottage has been a nice addition to the back yard and garden. The cottage gets a lot of use in every season!
Blessed by another September sunset as the days and nights are approaching equal length! The angle of the light in September and into October also brings an unequaled look to the landscape in the early mornings and late evenings.
Have a wonderful week!

Looking forward to pictures of your travels. Time passes on as we see the seasons change. We are chilly in the mornings and I am turning the fireplace on to warm us. Low 40βs are having me pull the covers up to keep warm. Your grandchildren surely missed you this week. They are growing up so fast. And little mister blue eyes is so cute. I would love playing in the dirt with him too! I was surprised to learn that the beauty berry grows wild there. I saw it for the first time growing in my sisters yard in NC. She calls it beauty bush. And it is indeed a beauty. Welcome home and I send you blessings for the coming week.

Such lovely memories of September! The picture from A.M. is spectacular and really shows a different of view. My zinnias were looking pretty bedraggled and I pulled them up yesterday. Now for some Fall weather please! Safe travels home, dear Pam and Butch!

Oh the wonder of your surroundings…. blessed, indeed. Those young ones are heart melters. If they could only be encapsulated in that fairy-tale stage of growing and curiosity
a bit longer…so precious. Hope you are in the stage of safe landing and resumption of life
as you know it. The art of that cobweb is humbling to observe.. all creatures great and small
have much to teach us. Swift recovery from travel lag and a wondrous week to you both.

Just looking at the picture of the cold creek cools me off. I loved playing in the creek at my grandmother’s house when I was a little girl. If I had one now, I’d still play in it.

Butch, these are stunning. They evoke so many emotions. The grandkids are my favorite (WL’s EYES) oh my! They’re all beautiful. What a beautiful display of God’s creation. I do hope you both have had a relaxing vacation (I pray for you daily). Happy belated anniversary, again. May God continue to bless and keep you as we watch for the great changes in the season! There is nothing more peace in the blogging community than these words and pictures (to me!). Give PJ my love! Many many blessings!

Such beautiful photos and what a lovely trip down memory lane! That spider web is nothing short of amazing and that beautyberry is such a gorgeous color. The princess and the queen are the show stealers, of course – they certainly grow quickly. The Sunshine Cottage looks calm and serene and I always love the sky shots. I hope you had a fabulous time travelling and wishing you both a wonderful week!

Thanks so much, Jeanie!

I love your pictures, but not sure what the one from the sky is? Is it your house and garden? You have the most beautiful garden and flowers. What state are you in?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Annie. It is a drone shot of house, garden, and Sunshine Cottage.

The color of the beautyberry is just amazing! I never cease to be amazed at God’s power to create such vibrant colors for us to enjoy. How grateful I am to have eyes to see it all and take it in! He is so faithful. May He richly bless you in your travels and keep you safe always.
