Happy Tuesday, sweet friends. Autumn officially arrived on Saturday and this autumn-loving girl couldn’t be more excited!
“Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.”
Psalm 119:36-37
Our mornings have been delightfully cooler, 53 degrees on Sunday morning. The pleasant mornings are ideal for tea on the Sunshine Cottage porch!
As you may have noticed, this isn’t the third Tuesday, but the fourth Tuesday of the month. My recent travels required a change of schedule and Mary was more than happy to accommodate me.
Mary and I welcome Jennifer from Celebrating Everyday Life back to Tea on Tuesdays. She is a talented table stylist and hostess! You will find Mary’s and Jennifer’s links for gorgeous tea tables at the bottom of this post.
A vintage Fitz and Floyd pheasant teapot stands guard over the table keeping away unwanted guests such as other birds and squirrels.
Since this was a morning tea, waffles were a nice change in place of my normal granola bar. Blueberry orange marmalade was a delicious spread for the waffles. The toast rack, a TJ Maxx find from last year, is outlined in the perfect fall color!
I chose a warm color palette that depicts my favorite season!
A petite arrangement of Autumn Fire sedum, yellow-gold zinnias, and fragrant sage all cut from the cottage garden filled a small Italian pitcher. The simple arrangement came together quickly.
Our sedum was relocated in early spring. I was concerned it might not like its new home, but it appears to be quite happy!
On our recent trip to Budapest we were introduced to Chez Dodo, Artisan Macarons and Cafe. I just happen to love macarons. To be honest, I have never met a dessert that I didn’t like. An average of twenty different flavors can be found on the counter. The highest quality of ingredients are used to guarantee a superior gourmet experience. Each flavor bears a French first name to express its personality. I had a hard time choosing six different ones because they all looked delicious. RM took photos so I could remember their names and flavors. Sophie lemon-lemon curd, Esme pistachio-raspberry, Joie vanilla-black currant-pistachio-marshmallow, Delice vanilla-salted almond, Blanche almond-coconut, and ‘Marie’ raspberry-mint. The macarons are made on the spot – in the shopwindow – guests are invited to watch the laborious process of the creation. The macarons did not travel well, even though they were wrapped and beautifully boxed. I had them packed carefully in my carry-on. I think it was the change of pressure in the cabin. I was disappointed they didn’t look as beautiful (some were cracked) however, it did not affect the flavor. Shh…don’t tell anyone but I ate all six of them!
My tea of choice was a cozy blend of Cinnamon Orange for autumn. The aromatic medley of warm cinnamon, sweet orange, and spicy clove mingles perfectly within a rich, black tea base.
You might have noticed a stack of pumpkins to the left of the table, fall decorating is in full swing!
The rosemary butter cookies are high on my favorites list. I purchase them at my favorite local gift shop and they are ideal with a cup of tea or coffee. Not only are they delicious, but only twenty-five calories each.
“I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house.”
~Nathaniel Hawthorne
‘Dahlia days’ tablecloth by April Cornell is a beautiful floral pattern and speaks of the loveliness of the season!
A velvet pumpkin, vintage napkins, American Atelier ‘baroque’ salad plates, cups/saucers, and Olfaire pottery leaf plates complete the table setting.
Now it is time to visit my talented friends Mary and Jennifer!

Good Morning Pam, What a delicious and beautiful way to start the morning, with tea by The Sunshine Cottage and waffles! Love your toast rack pulled into service for your waffles with blueberry orange marmalade. Your ‘Dahlia Days’ AC tablecloth provides a beautiful foundation for tea with your pitcher of sedum, zinnias and sage. I have long admired your Fitz & Floyd pheasant teapot, it’s a beauty… I had to chuckle over ‘standing guard unwanted guests’. We have more squirrels per square foot than should be allowed, they would definitely help themselves to a waffle or macaron. Speaking of macarons, what delicious sounding flavors and samples from your trip! I’d love to try a Sophie lemon-lemon curd or Delice vanilla-salted almond. As always, it’s a treat to join you for tea. Happy Tuesday. 🍂🍁☕🧡

Thank you, Mary. The macarons were delicious. I love that they gave them a French name!

Good morning Pam! What a delightful and beautiful tablescape! I can definitely imagine sitting outside Sunshine Cottage wrapped in a cozy shawl and sipping some of that steaming tea. Your beautiful teapot on the rustic stand sets the perfect note. Yesterday was a bit too warm here but our weather gurus are making cooler predictions. My sister gave me an Indian weather stick and it always is 100% accurate, Butch should have one…so fun!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Roxanne. Yes, Butch needs an Indian weather stick!

Good morning Pam. The Fitz and Floyd teapot is a treasure. The AC cloth is a beautiful foundation for the special table you have put together. Your sedum is beautiful and looks perfect on the table. The verse from Psalms really caught my attention. It spoke to me this morning. I also loved the quote. The weather here has been divine and Bob and I have been porch sitting taking in this wonderful autumn weather. Staying inside is not an option right now. I love everything about this post and look forward to hearing more about your trip.

Thanks so much, Dianne. I hope you and Bob continue to enjoy porch sitting all through the fall season. Look for a travel post this Thursday!

Pam, Jennifer, and Mary—I just love tea time! Pam, it’s so hard to choose a “favorite” of yours. You make every post so beautiful. You bring so much goodness to our world. I absolutely love autumn too. I love the leaf plates, the arrangement (the smell of sage mixed with the beautiful flowers), and the toast caddy is adorable (the waffles look amazing in that!). The macarons; I’ve never had one! But I will try one and think of you (and there’s no shame in eating them all). I love ANYTHING raspberry and the names of them were quite adorable! I giggled too over “standing guard over unwanted guests). It’s so comforting to visit you, the cottage, all the beauty, and the warmth that flows from your heart as the cool breezes enter to usher a new season. The tablescapes are amazing and HOPEFUL! It brings me joy and peace! I love you so much, Pam. My busy schedule begins this afternoon. Know I’m carrying you in my heart! Thank you for sharing. I know the work put in to creating this beauty! It pays off and we are blessed because of it! 💛🍂🙏💕
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Karla, once again your words are encouraging and heartwarming. Please try a macaron and think of me when you do. Praying that your hiking will be awesome and you will have the needed energy. Faith and grace will carry your through!
Love and hugs!

How precious, Pam. Thank you so much. I will do just that! Unfortunately, due to my fracture in my sacrum (I may not have told you~it happened in March or April and it just won’t heal, but I do walk each day). I had Telehealth with the nurse and travel coordinator yesterday. I will leave tomorrow and Friday, the “tribe” will take out from AR. I bet I’ll get to walk a bit on a trail, gently, and then just enjoy scenery! Oh, Pam, I pray for that energy. I go to give blood today and see my oncologist. The nurse from Maryland told me they would boost my blood once I arrive there (I have to go 5 days early). I’m praying for all moving parts to work together~which I know God can do! I love your line, “Faith and grace will carry you through”. I love you so much, Pam.❤️

I have already lifted you to our Heavenly Father this morning. my sweet friend. There are beautiful vistas that God created in His amazing Grand Canyon for you to sit and take in all of it. What a place to sit and worship Him with a song of praise in your heart! I love you precious friend. Just know we are praying for you ♥️🙏🏻🎶🤗

Good morning, Pam! Oh my, I love your table!! I’m not familiar with that April Cornell pattern so I’m delighted to meet a new one 🙂 It’s just perfect with all your treasures. I am particularly smitten with your teapot!! So fun!! Your trip sounds amazing and how fun that you found macarons you love – I am a huge macaron fan too! Your garden still continues to inspire me. I’m so hopeful that next year we’ll begin to make some progress on ours… Thank you for allowing me to celebrate Tea on Tuesday with you – it’s always such a privilege!! Sending hugs~ Jennifer

Thank you, Jennifer. The AC cloth was from last year. Your macarons are beautiful and I am sure delicious. I love the fancy names gives to the ones I bought in Budapest! Enjoy your autumn!

Oh Pam, your F & F pheasant teapot is beyond fabulous! Love the toast stand holding waffles too, and the maple leaf plates. Your fall colors are wonderful, such a pretty setting and table! The Budapest macarons with those fancy French names sound incredible, and I don’t blame you for indulging in them. What a beautiful haven you have created to sit, sip and linger with a pot of tea!

Thank you, Jenna. Our temps have been creeping up, but I am loving being outdoors!

Pam, I have so enjoyed my visit this morning. You have so many delicious goodies on your table, and cinnamon orange tea sounds divine on this autumn morning. I have never met a macaron that I didn’t like. I can’t imagine choosing a flavor with all of those choices! Your floral arrangement and linens are so pretty. The entire setting is beautiful, and I love the pheasant teapot. Enjoy your day, sweet friend!

Shannon, it was very hard to choose six flavors. I would have loved trying every one they had. Happy Wednesday!

Delightful tea table on your Sunshine Cottage porch. Wow, 53 degrees is much cooler than here. The lowest we have had is 60.
I love all your selections of dishes, linens, flowers, and accessories. Your sedum is hardy to be moved in the spring and flourishing through a very hot summer.
Your photos are always lovely! I also enjoy your quotes and scripture. I relate to Nathaniel Hawthorne’s quote as I am sitting on the porch typing this comment. It is too pleasant to stay inside!
Your macarons sound and look delicious. I could not tell they suffered from the trip home.
I can’t wait to hear about your trip. You catch up faster than I do after major travel.
Have a great week.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Bonnie. We will catch up soon. Happy Autumn!

Your beautiful table just speaks of fall. Blueberry orange marmalade sounds wonderful, did you make it or is it one you can buy?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Karen. Blueberry Orange Marmalade is from Stonewall Kitchen. I love their products.

So many beautiful ‘stand outs’ in your post but the “petite arrangement of Autumn Fire sedum, yellow-gold zinnias, and fragrant sage all cut from the cottage garden filled a small Italian pitcher.” was one of my favorites and the rosemary tea cookies sound rather intriguing!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Mary. The rosemary cookies are really delicious!

Good afternoon Pam! Such a lovely tea you had this morning with waffles! I enjoyed all the fall pleasantries… the pheasant teapot, the pumpkins, and the pitcher full of fall flowers!
I could linger here all day!
So lovely, dear friend! I enjoyed my stay!
Happy Tuesday!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Nancy. I wish you could join me, we would definitely linger all day!

Ooh, Pam, those macaron flavors sound wonderful, especially those with almond and lemon. The tablecloth is so pretty! Perfect for this early fall look. The teatime in cooler morning temps is a picture perfect fall setting. I love the Autumn Fire sedum, maybe better than Autumn Joy I used to have, for the richer red color. I have yet to plant a variety of sedum in my garden, but want to, maybe next spring. Let the fall decorating commence!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Rita. I think you would love the Autumn Fire sedum in your garden. Yes, I am in full fall decorating mode!
marmeladegypsy says
Well, the macarons look good in the photo! I love them, too. Which reminds me, next time I go to Trader Joes, I need to pick up some frozen ones. They aren’t nearly as good — but they’re better than none! Your table is beautiful and I love all the attention to detail. It’s beautifully fall!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Jeanie. I have bought the frozen ones at TJ’s and they are pretty good. We have a local bakery that has macarons, occasionally and they are very good.

so yummy looking Pam… I would sit at your table and just smile and sip tea. So pretty and well put together. I like macarons and have made them though they were not too photogenic. LOL Welcome home. Blessings my dear friend

Not one to miss a single thing in your posts, I had to mention the two wreaths on the cottage doors made with cotton boles. You are definitely in full fall decorating. Did you see pumpkins in Budapest? I think you had fall decorations on your mind as your table is especially beautiful.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Alice. The cotton wreaths have been with me for several years. I love them. We saw pumpkins in the fields, but not many used as decoration. Happy autumn, my friend!

I just had to drop in & join you for a lovely morning tea time & I can have macroons as they’re normally gluten free! Although I think you ate them all Pam before I got one! Lol!

Pam, your tea table is beautiful. I absolutely the vintage pheasant teapot. It is definitely a favorite. The tablecloth is gorgeous! Sorry the macaroons didn’t travel well but hopefully that didn’t affect the taste too much. The leaf plates are so cute. The table looks so inviting as does your porch. I’ve decorated our front porch with faux pumpkins as it’s still pretty warm here and I can manage those better than the heavier real ones (although the real ones are my favorite). Plus, the animals will leave the faux ones alone except for an occasional squirrel that loves the taste of Styrofoam! 😂 I bought a couple of hammered copper pumpkins for the porch from HomeGoods a few years ago and they have held up really well. I really like your real ones though as they are my true preference. Loved this post! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Clara. Your porch sounds beautiful. Those pesky critters can be bothersome. The hammered copper pumpkins are new to me. Happy Wednesday 🙏🏻

Hi Pam! Your Fitz and Floyd pheasant teapot is stunning! We used to have a F&F shop here in Dallas and it was such fun to find bargains.
I’m loving your beautiful sedum arrangement and your pretty china. I’m with you, and love all desserts, and I’d be happy to munch on a macaron (or 6!). Thank you for sharing your lovely teatime with us.

Thank you, Kitty. It is always nice to be in the company of another dessert lover!

Such a lovely table for a fall teatime party Pam! The AC tablecloth is stunning and is the perfect backdrop for your beautiful plate stacks and I love that Mr. Pheasant is standing guard keeping unwanted guests away – what a unique teapot. Love the toast holder. The blueberry orange marmalade and the cinnamon orange tea sound delicious with the waffles and I’ve never heard of rosemary butter cookies but they sound delicious too. Glad you enjoyed all the macarons. Happy fall to you!

Thank you, Kim. Waffles are always a good idea especially with the blueberry orange marmalade. Happy Weekend!

Pam, I apologize for my tardiness in visiting your tea. As always your alfresco setting is so inviting. Temps in the 50s sounds refreshing! I love your gorgeous vintage F&F pheasant. I like to use a pheasant theme for some of my fall tables. This piece really makes a statement. I’m craving blueberry orange marmalade and cinnamon orange tea. Everything about your morning tea is yummy! Happy Autumn!

Sarah, you are always so sweet. Happy October!

That tea sounds amazing! I just love the sights, smells, and sounds of fall! There is nothing at all about fall that I don’t love.
