Hello my friends. October, my favorite month, is more than half over! I am doing my best to cherish every day before it is gone!
“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
Proverbs 19:21
“In the entire circle of the year, there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October.”
~ Alexander Smith
I look forward to the third Tuesday of each month as Mary and I celebrate teatime. Our special guest for this edition of Tea on Tuesdays is Sarah from Hyacinths For The Soul. Sarah is so talented and I admire her amazing attention to detail!
A tea table was set in the cottage garden where zinnias are still offering color. The spent blooms are left for our October visitors, the Monarchs! They love the fresh blooms, as well as the spent ones. We saw our first one this past Saturday and normally they hang around for a week or more!
This cute pumpkin teapot was found at Home Goods on a recent trip to Birmingham. I might be a bit envious of you that have a local Home Goods near you.
RM threw out wildflower seeds where pumpkin seeds were planted last year. The cosmos have been the most outstanding bloomers. A favorite majolica pitcher was used for dancing white cosmos, peach-colored zinnias, an autumn hued hydrangea, Autumn Fire sedum, and chaste seed pods for a casual arrangement.
It is no secret that I love macarons, the perfect small bite with a cup of tea. An ideal autumn flavor of cinnamon was served on a hand-crafted plate that I purchased at the Charleston City Market a few years ago. I had the pleasure of meeting the talented artist who shared the story of her pottery and sweetgrass weaving!
Many readers have commented on my linens. More times than not, they are from April Cornell. I love this AC ‘Meridian’ tablecloth and napkins, so perfect for the autumn season. As an April Cornell brand ambassador I have a promo code for you! The code is: EVERYDAY15 for $15 off orders $100+. This offer cannot be combined with other offers or codes. To be totally transparent, I do not make a percentage of any sales. As an AC ambassador, each season, I am gifted a set of linens that I have chosen.
“My beloved October has returned—with its brilliant colors, cool temperatures and sunny, cloudless, azure skies, and I must enjoy it before it escapes for another year.”
~Peggy Toney Horton
I enjoy making and buying my precious Daddy sweet treats to have with his morning coffee. A butterfly fritter is his new favorite from a local bakery. RM and I totally agree, it was delicious!
Vintage Olfaire golden yellow maple leaf plates serve up the scrumptious pastry. Johnson Brothers ‘Harvest Time’ dinner plates and fall-colored Graceware cups/saucers complete the tea settings! A couple of velvet Hot Skwash pumpkins, old leather books, and a tiny teapot trinket box were gathered to the table along with a few natural pods.
Pumpkin spice tea is a taste of autumn in a cup! As I write this post I am enjoying a cup of the Charbrew specially blended black tea with bits of pumpkin, ginger, and cinnamon. The Blue Sky Clayworks pumpkin teapot is signed by their most prolific artist, Heather Goldminc. I am new to her beautiful work. Heather’s inspiration flows from the natural surrounding of her Canadian West Coast home. Flora and fauna plays key roles in her creations. I love the raised acorns and leaves on the teapot. I checked out the website and I saw some teapots I would like to add to my small collection. Does a collector ever stop collecting? I am asking for a friend!
RM got a little carried away this year with several pumpkin stacks and single pumpkins all around the garden, porches, and landscape. We discovered decorating with pumpkins was cheaper than mums!
Living on land that was a former farm, as a city girl turned country, I love the last cutting of hay, especially the bales that are left in the field for a few days!
After teatime was over, I photographed a small vignette for an Instagram story. I would love for you to follow me on Instagram if you haven’t already!
Now you will definitely want to join Mary, with her skeletal crew and humor, and Sarah, with her stunning curated treasures, for fabulous teatimes!

Pam, A table in your garden is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea! Love all the pumpkin stacks and faded beauty of the blooms and soft grasses in your fall garden. I’ve always admired your beautiful April Cornell linens and your Meridian tablecloth and napkins are no exception. Love your pretty new teapot with the acorn relief, leaves and pumpkin stem top and handle. I love your pretty majolica pitcher filled with blooms too, I don’t recall seeing it before but am sure I have. Your velvet pumpkins and gold maple leaf plates add such pretty fall details and your butterfly fritter looks like an irresistible treat! As always, it’s a treat to join you for tea. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. 🍂🍁🧡

Thanks so much, Mary. I love joining you for tea 🍁🧡🍂

Pam, what a gorgeous new teapot and teatime set up in the cottage garden. I love your teapot design, and isn’t it fun to find new artists, only to slide down a new rabbit hole?! The new AC linens you’ve chosen are so pretty, and that City Market pottery with sweet grass incorporated is my favorite today! I love finding and supporting artisan works. Our region is rich with talent, and the only thing better than finding new talent is finding vintage artisan pieces at estate sales. Have a beautiful fall day in your beautiful surroundings!

Rita, I have to stop collecting. I need to purge, instead. But then, I would probably regret it. Anyway, thank you my friend!
Sarah says
Pam, your zinnias and dancing cosmos are a perfect autumn touch. I love the added pumpkins too, and like the way RM stacked them so perfectly. I used to get in a lot of trouble at Home Goods, so I purposefully don’t let myself pop in as I once did. We have several locations here with large stores. It’s a treat for the eyes, and always has something to tempt. Your pumpkin teapot is special. I would have been very tempted had I seen one. I’m familiar with Heather Goldminc and Bluesky Clay Works. Her pieces are full of whimsy! Your spiced tea sounds lovely, and that butterfly fritter looks like a perfect sweet treat. I’m enamored with your plate from Charleston. The potter/weaver must be very talented! And the majolica pitcher filled with cosmos is gorgeous. What beautiful pieces to have for your table. Don’t you love using these handmade treasures? Thanks for this beautiful start to my Tuesday morning. Sharing the honor of participating with you and Mary for Tea on Tuesdays is always appreciated. Thank you, dear friend! Happy October!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Sarah. I am so glad I met the artisan that made the plate, she had many beautiful pieces. Wish I had bought a couple more. It is a joy to share tea with you, my friend 🍁🧡🍂

Such a lovely October setting and tea table Pam, your new teapot is delightful and teapots are in the same category as pumpkins, you can’t ever have too many! I used to collect funky teapots and I don’t even drink tea! Your linens are so pretty and the handcrafted plate from Charleston is so unique and beautiful! It’s wonderful to see you still have color from the zinnias, and of course pumpkin spice tea, and cinnamon macarons are perfect this time of year and the butterfly fritter looks hard to resist!

Good morning Pam! Your April Cornell linens perfectly set the tone for a Fall tea party! The teapot is gorgeous, what a great find! Autumn in your garden is spectacular. Is there such a thing as too many pumpkins or teapots?!? What a coincidence that we are both city girls now living on former farms. Mother Nature works miracles because our land has now reverted to forest.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Roxanne, I am so happy to be a country girl. I absolutely love it. I know you enjoy your beautiful outdoors with a forest and a pond 🍁🧡🍂

I can’t fine a favorite on todays post. It all tickles me fancy! AC goods, majolica, fun teapots, pastry, flowers, pumpkins, even hay bails and tea with Pam. We have a Home Goods in Boulder that I steer clear of most days however when my friend Jamie visits that’s one of our stops for sure. These cool days have turned to needing the fireplace on and extra cover on the bed. We’ve had frost and a freeze but his week we are having an
Indian Summer outbreak. That I Love!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Alice. Wow Indian Summer in Colorado sounds perfect for October.

Pam…awesome tea party! Not only is decorating with pumpkin stacks cheaper than mums…you don’t have to water and deadhead them!!! LOL I would love to be sitting at your table for tea and enjoying that cute teapot.
