Happy Thursday, sweet friends. Our weather has been glorious the last few days with beautiful sunlight, blue skies, and perfect temperatures…autumn at its best!
“There is none holy like the Lord: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.”
1 Samuel 2:2 ESV
There is no place we would rather be than our home in the Appalachian Foothills. As we get older, this hillside gets sweeter and sweeter. Reminiscing a couple of days ago, I looked back through the archives and collected a few photos that I hope you will enjoy that I simply call ‘autumn at home’!
The Sunshine Cottage offers an inviting place to relax, read, and take an afternoon nap. Biscotti and hot chocolate are delicious on a cool autumn afternoon!
My first blooming pumpkin in the fall of 2018!
Pumpkins and mums decorated the patio a few falls ago when my RM came home with a truckload of both!
Our split rail fence, behind the picnic area, was a resting place for a copper kettle filled with foraged goldenrods! They are prolific in our area and they just happen to be my Renaissance Man’s favorite wildflower!
Beautiful early morning light casts a warm glow over the garden and patio table!
A plaid pumpkin with feathers and three velvet pumpkins were placed on a riser for a November autumn vignette in the cottage!
Autumn Fire sedum continues to be beautiful this fall!
This blooming pumpkin included feathers!
The Sunshine Cottage’s first fall was 2020!
A sweet little spot in the garden!
An Autumn arrangement with flowers from our garden, even a few dahlias!
We even stacked a couple of pumpkins in an old churn!
One of my favorite florals was an apple-themed one a few weeks ago!
Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins!
I have moved this little garden bench all over the garden and it has served many purposes including a place for pumpkins to sit!
One more blooming pumpkin!
Thank you for your visit and gracious comments. Wishing you a joy-filled day!

I loved this post Pam, so much Fall eye candy! I love that Butch is a big pumpkin lover too, I love seeing them everywhere! HHjr brought home a huge mum and pumpkins last week, I was so excited because I hadn’t bought any yet. Your photos are so pretty, such a wonderful Autumn vignette round up. This weather has been so nice, I am loving it!

What a lovely roundup Pam. The early morning pic of the garden is especially pretty. I’m actually enjoying fall so much this year even though it is so dry. I don’t think many of us has had enough rain the past month or so. Fall is my favorite season. After the hot summer, it’s so nice to be able to relax on the porch. Your Sunshine Cottage porch looks so relaxing. The apple bouquet is indeed beautiful as are your blooming pumpkins! Enjoy your day. Clara ❤️

Thanks so much, Clara. I am loving fall, but we desperately need rain. Happy Weekend ♥️

Oh what beauty you create and share….Yesterday’s weather was sunny with warm breezes and I took
the time to sit on the veranda and be enveloped in it and to luxuriate in it’s comforting, sun-filled grace…a gift from the Lord. Your Autumn photos are such a treat and inspiration. The pumpkins and mums set the stage for Fall and your bouquets more than glorify the season. I think I’ll add some Autumn Fire to our sedum bed for next Fall…great color. In these days of concern, you and Butch
create a haven of peace to visit and find solace…Bless you.

The blooming pumpkins are such a genius idea! I have a nice big one in our front porch decor, and I am just thinking how pretty it would be if I cut out the top and added some fall silk flowers. I just may have to do that! You have the most wonderful, original ideas. I hope you are enjoying every moment of this fall season!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Cheryl, adding silk flowers would be a great way to enjoy! Put a small vase inside, so you won’t ruin the stems of your flowers.
