Merry Tuesday and I am delighted you are here for the most joyful time of the year!
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11 KJV
I am joining sixteen talented table stylists for a Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by my friend, Rita from Panoply!
JOY – a three letter word that describes a feeling of great pleasure and happiness! What brings you joy during the Christmas season ?
“Joy to the world! The Saviour reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.
~ Isaac Watts (written in 1719)
Early morning sunshine on the table above provides a lovely glow on the red bow in this image!
My Lynch Creek Farm centerpiece was slightly altered for my tablesetting. I changed the bow tucks to red and placed a red candle in the center. Both of these additions were saved from previous LCF centerpieces!
Long-time readers know that I have many hand-made collections from my beloved Mother. Four of her Old World Santa’s were used on the table. She painstakingly painted these and her detail on each Santa was amazing, just look at the eyes! Every year as I unbox my collections, I am reminded of all the years Mother lived with painful arthritis, yet because she chose joy, she never uttered a complaint. Everyone who knew her was blessed by the joy that was repeated in her daily life!
I love beautiful linens! As an April Cornell brand ambassador, I receive linens several times a year. The gorgeous napkins and tablecloth in red is called ‘Holly’ and is currently on sale! This beautiful curated set of 60” x 90” dining cloth and eight matching napkins is reduced to $125.00. This stunning set is sure to bring joy to you and your guests!
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.”
Matthew 2:10 ESV
The Lynch Creek Farm centerpiece was placed in a beautiful Arte Italica ‘Natalie’ small handled bowl!
Fitz and Floyd ‘Winter Holiday’ dinner plates were placed atop faux cedar placemats and ‘Baroque’ American Atelier chargers which I often use!
This Santa’s appearance is different. When our son was five or six years old, his Nanny let him paint his own Old World Santa. She obviously painted the eyes. We get a chuckle each year as our son’s Santa is placed with the others. EM and EK always have comments about their daddy’s painting. It is hard for the girls to envision their rugged, outdoorsman daddy painting ceramic figurines!
The pillow in the chair is from last year’s AC Christmas selections! This image shows more of the beauty of the tablecloth!
A lovely centerpiece, twinkling lights, memorable table settings, and beautiful linens are but small ways in which we can choose to repeat the sounding joy…first heard as it was proclaimed by angels from the night skies near Bethlehem!
A sweet Santa with his reindeer and a sack of toys!
A natural table runner of freshly cut cedar, magnolia leaves, and berries plus a chandelier filled with cedar artfully arranged by my RM!
I love the bokeh effect as it brings to mind the first Christmas. Shepherds witnessed a great light as the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and later, wise men were guided by a bright star as they came to worship the newborn King! Joy-filled occasions!

Good Morning Pam, Your beloved mother’s Old World Santas are oh so beautiful…those eyes with such careful detailing on the faces, you can see the individual eyelashes, even on the sweet deer and donkey. I can’t imagine what size brush she had to use and difficulty holding it with her arthritis. I know it gives you great pleasure to pull them out each year with the memories they represent. And Seth’s Santa is so sweet too! Love the sunshine highlighting your table, as well as the bokeh effect of the lights from your tree. Your April Cornell ‘Holly’ linens are beautiful with your ‘Winter Holiday’ plates and LCF centerpiece in the Arte Italica ‘Natale’ bowl. Love your chandy embellished with evergreens. I’m behind in my foraging, I could use Butch’s expertise in collecting and arranging! As always, it’s a treat to have a virtual seat you at your table, Merry Tuesday!❤️ 🎄

Pam, I love how you’ve intertwined the childlike secular vision of Christmss Joy with the Old World Santas and yet deliver the religious reality of the Christ Joy here. I appreciate the talent of your mother’s hand in the facial details of your Santas, it’s beautiful. The plate stack is an assortment of all classics, and what a privilege it is to be an April Cornell ambassador! The Holly textiles are a classic. That Lynch Creek Centerpiece – all of their greens – are gorgeous, and long-lasting. Can’t let that Natale bowl go unmentioned either. I love it. And RM’s hand at the table with his chandelier arrangement and foraging of greens is a true gift. Pam, thank you for being a part of this tableacape blog hop. You are a gift to me and all the readers!

So beautiful Pam! I love the red tablecloth and napkins, they scream Christmas! Your centerpiece is lovely, love the red bows and greens with more greens in the chandy above. I always enjoy seeing the figurines your mother painted, I know they are a valuable family treasure. Your plate stacks on the faux greens placemats look so pretty and I love seeing your Christmas tree with sparkling lights in the window. The greenery and holly running down the table ties everything together. I know your family will enjoy sitting at this beautiful Christmas table!

Pam, your Christmas table is so pretty with the AC linens. How special to receive a few collections each year. The chandelier looks fabulous. Butch did a fantastic job on decorating it. The table runner of freshly cut cedar, magnolia leaves, and berries is a wonderful addition to your festive Christmas table. You mother’s old world santas are so cute and yet precious. The plate stack looks so pretty on the cedar placemats. Always a pleasure joining you on these blog hops.

I’m reminded of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” because I see a beautiful angel in the wi window by your Christmas tree. Green and red are always my colors for Christmas because I think green is for Christ life and red for the blood He shed in the cross. I do use lots of white lights because He is the light of the world. I read that JOY stands for Jesus, others and yourself.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Alice! I love that definition of J O Y. I love all of the traditional Christmas carols and red and green just says Christmas!
Blessings, sweet friend!

Pam, I always enjoy viewing your tables as you have such creativity and memories to share. That is what makes the special are the memories and your mother’s painting of those Santas is exquisite. Years ago I had my own kiln and ceramic shop. I used to teach classes on how to paint, etc. My husband poured the molds and I usually ended up helping my students with the facial features particularly the eyes, so I do appreciate your mother’s talent….and it is a talent to give them such expression. These days my hands are so shaky that my painting of facial features would be nothing short of scary. LOL I also like Seth’s green clothed Santa and I know the grands must laugh and tease their daddy which makes the table setting even more enjoyable. Your AC tablecloth is nothing short of amazing. The holly and berries on that bright red background is beautiful and the cloth is going on my wish list. The LCC centerpiece is lovely with the red ribbon catching the first sunlight rays of the day. How fortunate you are to have RM gather and place greens on the table and chandy. The Captain assists me often and I am truly Blessed as you are.
Thank you for the reminder of the Reason for the Season in your lovely Bible verses… and thank you for being my friend. It is always a pleasure to blog and hop with you and Butch. Hugs and Blessings always.

Merry Tuesday, Pam! Your table is a feast for the eyes. The AC linens are so striking on your table and pairs so wonderfully with your Lynch Creek Farm centerpiece. I save my picks each year too and repurpose them. Your mother was very talented. The detail on the Old World Santa’s is amazing. I know you must treasure them very much. The opening photo you took with the morning sunlight streaming in is gorgeous. Everything looks just beautiful! My dear friend, I wish you a most joyful Christmas season!

Gorgeous, Pam! Your linens are so pretty, and I want to thank you for telling us about the sale @ April Cornell. I love all her designs, but this holly pattern on the red background is extra special. The greenery in your chandelier is so festive. We recently watched a documentary on how Medieval England celebrated Christmas, and they always made huge “Christmas crowns” and hung them from their ceilings! Your chandelier reminded me of this very old tradition. Thank-you for sharing your stories about the Santa collection. Your mother sounds like a very special person. I also like the greenery on your table, especially the runner. I have never done that before, but I might try something similar in our breakfast room a little closer to Christmas. I hope you have a peaceful, joyful, and Merry Christmas! Love, RJ

Pam, your mother’s old world Santas sure are special, and do evoke a sense of joy just seeing the twinkle she painted in the eyes. Our pastor is taking us through a series of advent messages on the theology of the Christmas hymns. I can’t wait until he gets to the one on “Joy to the World”!
Thanks for splashing a little Christmas joy around as you share your lovely tablescapes.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Cindie, I would enjoy those advent messages on the theology of the Christmas hymns. I love them. Thank you, my friend!

Their eyes are gorgeous and how talented your mother must have been. I think Seth did a pretty good job too! The LCC centerpiece is gorgeous and I love how you caught the red bow with the sun on it. Pam, I’m in awe of your mother’s skill. The Old World Santa figures are exquisite. How special to have these works of art. They make a stunning display down the center of your table with the greens setting the stage. I’m using fresh greens for my centerpiece today too. Not something I’ve done before, but I like the classic simplicity. Just add a festive bow, and it’s done!
Thanks for always inspiring me, sweet friend! Happy Holidays!

Your centerpiece is beautiful especially with the sun shining through the window showing a wonderful spotlight on it!! Gorgeous photo!! Pam, I always love when you show the treasures from your dear mother. It makes everything so special. The Santas are exquisite, and she perfectly captured the sparkle in their eyes. Unpacking Christmas is so bittersweet because many of my Santas were gifts from my mother or purchased on trips we took together. They fill me with joy and tears at the same time. I think no matter how old we become, we always will miss our mothers.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Roxanne. I agree with you, we will always miss our mothers. My mother made every occasion special as I am sure your mother did. I hope you finished your decorating, my friend!

Oh, that tablecloth! It’s just divine — as are the napkins! It adds such warmth and elegance to your table. And of course the centerpiece is a stunner (I would expect no less from you!). I love the Santa, too. I’m sure there will be wonderful conversations at this table! (And lots of compliments!)

Pam, your table radiates warmth and coziness, grounded by the abundant natural (and faux) greenery down the center, under the plates and on the linens. A table sure to please any and all guests! The dinner and salad plates continue the botanical theme that’s enlivened by the wonderful Santas. It’s such a pleasure to hop with you again! Have a very merry Christmas
Karen (Back Road Journal) says
I always enjoy how you decorate your holiday table for Christmas and this year is no exception. Do you have a tip on how to keep the natural table runner of freshly cut cedar from leaving sap on your lovely tablecloth.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Karen. I normally use Leyland cypress which doesn’t shed or leave sap. I had to use cedar on this table, so it stayed for three or four days without a problem.
Clara says
Pam, I love your Christmas table! It’s beautiful! The linens are so very pretty. Your plates are gorgeous. Your Mom was so very talented. Seth did a good job too! The Santas are so special. Enjoy your week. Clara❤️

Your mom sounds like she was such a sweet, dear soul. I know you miss her terribly. I’ve been missing mine extra here lately. The holidays always draw our minds back to days of childhood and home and our parents. The thing that comforts me is that I know they are resting, at home with Jesus. May He bless you this Christmas season, dear friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, I miss my sweet mother as you do yours. My dear Mother is home with Jesus! Christmas blessings, Cheryl!
