Merry Tuesday sweet friends! Are you still shopping, wrapping, and baking? I can’t believe how quickly (or so it seems) that Christmas is almost here!
“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.”
Luke 2:7 ESV
It is Tea On Tuesdays and I am so happy that I was able to set a tea table! If you read Simple + Southern Sunday you know that my RM spent five days in the hospital last week. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to get my act together, but finding time for tea is always great therapy!
I always look forward to the third Tuesday of the month when Mary and I share a cuppa with our readers. You will find Mary’s beautiful tea setting at the bottom of this post.
My plan was to share a tea party with EM and EK for this Christmas edition of Tea On Tuesdays. We were going to bake cookies and set a nutcracker-themed tea party. That was not possible, but hopefully the girls and I will have some time later in the week to have our party!
A Fitz and Floyd teapot sets the stage for this quick and easy teatime in the Sunshine Cottage!
Nikko ‘Happy Holidays’ is my oldest Christmas china. The pattern features a festive Christmas tree decorated with presents, toys, garlands, and ornaments.
Mary surprised me with a lovely box of English Tea Shop ‘Premium Holiday Collection’ of organic teas. Twelve premium loose leaf pyramid bags are each packed in a pyramid box. Four warm flavors of Festive Spice, Happy Holiday, Ghostly Green, and Gingerbread Treat are not only perfect for the Christmas season, but will be enjoyed during the winter months.
Ghostly Green is an organic green tea with cinnamon and ginger pieces, peppermint leaves, and rose petals. It is delicious!
“I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And mild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
There wasn’t time for buying flowers and arranging! I clipped fragrant cedar and filled a cute bucket that I rediscovered on a pantry shelf. Picks that I had in my stash were added and voila…a simple arrangement that was easy and no expense!
With little time for baking, I made a quick grocery run and grabbed powdered donuts and brownie bites knowing that Ella Mae and Emma love both. I baked orange cranberry muffins which are one of my favorites. I can use all three sweet treats for our Nutcracker tea party later this week!
April Cornell tablecloth and napkins, majolica dinner plates, tartan salad plates by 222 Fifth, and my personal favorite, ceramic Christmas tree napkin rings made years ago by my beloved mother complete the table setting! The tea in the foreground is ‘gingerbread treat’, an organic black tea with cinnamon, ginger, apple, and cardamom and it is also delicious!
“For it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when its mighty Founder was a child himself.”
~Charles Dickens
Be sure to visit with Mary for her delightful teatime!

Good morning, Pam! The Sunshine Cottage is the perfect spot to enjoy some tea and R&R with your pretty tree twinkling in the background. What an adorable tablecloth with the stockings and gingerbread men! Love your pretty tartan plaid plates, topped with your festive Christmas tree napkin rings made by your sweet mother, what wonderful mementos to have along with her hand painted Santas. Your buffalo check bucket of greenery is so cheery, free-for-the-clipping is always the best! I’ve long admired your beautiful Santa Fitz and Floyd teapot and Nikko ‘Happy Holidays’ is such an iconic and festive Christmas pattern. I’m so glad you were able to find time for tea today and hopefully you can have your Nutcracker Christmas tea party with your grand girls soon. Keeping you and Butch in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a very Merry week before Christmas! ❤️ 🎄

Pam, you are truly a Wonder Woman to have pulled that all together under the circumstances. The most important thing is Butch is home. The table is just lovely. I think I’ve mentioned my late sister-in-law made me a set of those napkins rings…they were used at my Ladies Brunch! Another special memory.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You are a sweetheart, Roxanne. I know your ladies brunch was fabulous! It was most impressive on IG!

Pam, love your Fitz and Floyd teapot. Your table is so beautifully put together. I don’t know how you do everything you do especially with Butch in the hospital five days.Pray he is doing much better. There is nothing prettier than fresh greenery found on your own property. Love everything about this table and what a lovely gift of tea from Mary. Blessings my sweet friend. Dianne

Pam your tea table is lovely and does not look like it was an afterthought of a lady with a husband in the hospital. It is beautiful starting with your lovely AC tablecloth and Fitz and Floyd tea pot. So nostalgic and brings a Norman Rockwell vibe to your table. I have always enjoyed your Nikko Happy Holidays pattern. I especially love the photo with your decorated tree in the background. I know your girls will love the tea party you have planned for them…as you know it doesn’t matter what is served or when the little party is… but that their grandmother planned and put her heart into making it a special time for them. That is what they will remember in the coming years. Blessings dear friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Kari, your sweet words warm my heart. Blessings my friend!

Merry Tuesday, Pam! Your entire tea setting is so beautiful. With everything you have been going through, it was so kind of you to share your lovely tea table with us. Both Butch and you have been in my thoughts and prayers. The tea gift Mary gave you is so thoughtful, and the flavors sound delicious! A spot of tea surrounded by your pretties and treasures is just the thing to calm the soul. Your arrangement of Christmas greens and berries is so pretty! I always love the creations we make with items we have on hand so much more. Your dishes and table linens create such a gorgeous display in your cozy Sunshine Cottage. My dear friend, I wish you a day of peace and joy.

Such a joyful Christmas table! I love seeing your mother’s Christmas tree napkin holders. My mom made the ceramic Christmas Trees with the little lights of the era, and like you, I treasure all that her hands touched🎄
You and Butch, although we’ve never met in person, are so special to us and are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care and may you simply enjoy this beautiful season.
