Happy Tuesday, sweet friends! I hope you all enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day. It is always special in our family, but even more so this year. It was our precious EM’s eighth birthday and she requested smash burgers! The celebration was fun, the burgers and fixings were delicious, and the birthday cake made by our daughter-in-love was adorable with Barbie on top! Allison’s cakes always receive rave reviews!

In Honor of the Red, White, and Blue
Some of my favorite tablescapes are those of the red, white, and blue! Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. June 14th is Flag Day, and of course, July 4th is Independence Day. These holidays are recognized by the waving of the red, white, and blue. I rounded up the colors of our flag to inspire as you make plans to celebrate these upcoming holidays!
I love mixing patterns…a plaid seersucker table square with a small print tablecloth! Red napkins, cobalt blue glasses, and Spode dishware add more to the mix!

When hydrangeas are in bloom, they are ideal for a patriotic arrangement. Crocosmia adds a bright pop of red!
“May we think of freedom, not as the right to do what we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.”
~Peter Marshall
Celebrating Summer With The Red, White, & Blue
Our garden is most often where spring, summer, and fall tablescapes take place!
Red, White, and Blue For Memorial Day
Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It is a day dedicated to honor the fallen soldiers, those that never came home, that fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Crown Linen embroidered napkins add a touch of elegance to any table!
A bright red watering can was used as a vase to hold blue and white hydrangeas!
Cobalt blue bud vases hold mini flags!
You may think a floral tablecloth won’t work for a red, white, and blue table. The April Cornell floral breakfast square was paired with a navy cloth, blue and white dishware, flags, and sweet and savory treats for teatime in the garden!
“The patriot’s blood is the seed of freedom’s tree.”
~Thomas Campbell
My Mother’s blue and white checked tablecloth was the inspiration for a patriotic table set in the garden!
You have probably noticed that the same dishware, glasses, etc. have been used on many of these tables. By making a few changes with tablecloths and napkins, you have an entirely different look!
Celebrating The Red, White, & Blue
This beautiful quilt, stitched by my beloved Mother, was the inspiration for a table set next to the woodlands! It is only for display. We would never eat on it!
Not only pretty, but yummy cupcakes were made by a friend!
The same blue and white checked tablecloth was used for a patriotic tablescape on the patio…
…with a view of the garden!
I hope this red, white, and blue round-up gave you ideas for tablesettings as we commemorate Memorial Day in a couple of weeks. Thank you for your visit and gracious comments. Wishing you a joy-filled day!

Pam, My heart beats red, white and blue and I love this beautiful and patriotic round up! 💙 ❤️ I so adore your mother’s beautiful quilt! I think the last photo and table with the view of your garden in the background is my favorite. Happy Birthday to EM 🎉🎈🎂
Thank you, Mary. I will share your birthday greetings with EM❤️
Red white and beautiful Pam! All of your flower arrangements are stunning! You have so many red white and blue pretties and of course your garden setting is always breathtaking~ you are all set for the summer holidays 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you, Jenna! I do love red, white, and blue tables! ❤️🤍💙
Pam, Your patriotic tables are all beautiful. I am partial to the floral tablecloth but they are all so pretty! Your Mom’s quilt is exquisite! She was a talented quilter as that quilt took a lot of stitches! I love your speckled blue glasses and the blue and white scene on your tea pitcher. EM’s birthday sounds like fun! I can’t believe we’re into Memorial Day already. Your Sunshine Cottage looks so patriotic in the distance. Happy Tuesday! Clara❤️
Thank you, Clara! I can’t believe how quickly this year is passing. My Mother’s quilt is a treasure. EM’s birthday was a fun party! Enjoy your week ❤️
Love the patriotic tablescapes that just says summer!
Thanks so much, Rita!
Pam, I love seeing all of these patriotic tables and especially Sunshine Cottage draped in bunting. Ronald Reagan’s quote has never been more applicable than right now. What is a smash burger and how do you make it? It sounds delicious! Did you get pictures of the Barbie cake? For my 60th, Mickey ordered a Barbie cake delivered to the restaurant where my girlfriends took me to celebrate. When she took it out, the children at the next table had eyes as big as saucers. We ended up sending big slices over to their table too!
Thank you, Roxanne! How fun that Mickey ordered you a Barbie cake for your 60th. I know the children were excited to receive big slices!
Thanks for the reminder to put the flag up. Your mother was a great quilter.cutting each of those tiny squares and sewing them together was not easy. My mother also quilted. She had a quilt frame she would put in the living room. Moved all of the furniture out then invited all her friends for a quilting session and a good meal. When Winter came we were kept warm by her work. Mothers aren’t praised enough! Love all your tables.
Thank you, Alice for sharing your precious memories. I remember seeing my grandmother set up a quilting frame in her living room. I am fortunate to have a quilt from each of my grandmothers! Thank you, dear one’
so pretty Pam…your red white and blue makes me ready for summer picnics. I love each setting….happy patriotic days that initiate the beginning of summer. Hugs and blessings
I can hardly believe summer is almost upon us. Thank you, Kari ❤️🤍💙 Hugs and blessings ~
Pam, this is stunning! Your mom’s quilt and tablecloth, all the red, white, and blue beauty brings tears to my eyes! Every detail the flowers, stemware, plates, and embroidered napkins, makes me proud!
The quotes touched my heart and spirit, too. You always pair them perfectly with your settings! The celebrations you had sound divine and delicious (just like those patriotic cupcakes). You make me even more proud to be in the USA, Pam! I don’t know how you create so much beauty–and I can never choose a favorite! God bless you! I love you, dearly!

The hours of devotion that it must have taken your beautiful Mother to create that magnificent quilt, Pam dear. Her work is impeccable. Just love your array of RW&B table settings to welcome the coming
holidays.. I copied the Peter Marshall quotation…so true. Those cupcakes are a great idea for the Fourth.I must locate some of those red & white straws… miniature flag supply all set. Just look what a hum you have started with your creative ideas….Have you cut some of your Magnolia blossoms ?… ours are sitting in a vase on my desk and oh the aroma that permeates the study….. Hope you and Butch have a relaxing week.
Thank you, my friend! My Mother was so talented in so many ways. I don’t think I ever mentioned she also played piano! The straws can be found at Hobby Lobby. I haven’t cut magnolia blooms, but I smell the sweet fragrance when I go outside! It has been a lovely week!

Simply so much charm with your red, white and blue tablescapes! How fun to celebrate Mother’s Day and a special birthday and with a Barbie cake – oh so sweet!
Pam, I just love red, white, and blue together – it just says summer and in your case, patriotic celebrations too! Your tables are all beautiful and I love how you change up a few things and have a whole different table. Genius. Your mother’s quilt is stunning. Enjoy all the wonderful upcoming celebrations and wishing you a lovely rest of the week. Happy birthday to EM!
Those tablescapes certainly inspire patriotism! Love the idea of putting small flags in bud vases. May have to try something similar for our 4th of July celebration. Thank you, Pam!
You certainly know how to inspire us all with your wonderful patriotic round up…each table is prettier than the next. When we lived in our 1730’s New Hampshire house, I had a red keeping room kitchen with two blue cupboards. It was so much fun collecting antique patriotic pieces to display in that room.
Pam,
Your tablescapes are so lovely. Congratulations, you are being featured on TFT. I hope you stop by. https://www.eclecticredbarn.com/2024/05/memorial-day-ideas-on-tft.html
