Happy Tuesday sweet friends. It was so good to see beautiful blue skies and the sun yesterday after days of clouds and rain!
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105 (ESV)
It is Tea on Tuesdays, and I am happy you are joining me for tea and conversation!
For May’s edition of Tea on Tuesdays, Mary and I are delighted to welcome our special guest, Sarah, from Hyacinths for the Soul. Sarah has often shared tea with us and her teatimes are always stunning and beautifully detailed! You will find the links for Mary and Sarah at the bottom of this post.
I set up a small table for two on the Sunshine Cottage porch with views of the garden!
The butterfly teapot is one of my favorites! I sure miss Pier 1 stores where I could always find something beautiful that I didn’t need! EM loves butterflies and this teapot…she wanted to name the cottage the Butterfly Cottage and that is what she calls it!
I prefer strong coffee and tea. I chose an English breakfast tea for my afternoon teatime. It is a traditional blend of black tea and tends to be stronger than other teas. It is not meant for breakfast exclusively, but can be enjoyed any time of the day!
We have a couple of wildflower gardens which provided blooms for this arrangement including cornflower, Indian blanket flower, and Black-eyed Susan. Queen Anne’s Lace is in abundance in fields and roadsides, free for the picking!
The inspiration for my tea table is this gorgeous La Cigalle tablecloth which was a fabulous surprise gift from my precious and talented friend and fellow blogger, Shannon, who blogs at Belle Bleu Interiors! This true Country French classic tablecloth is designed, printed, and fabricated in France. It is an acrylic-coated cotton which makes it stain and fade resistant plus ideal for alfresco dining. I love beautiful linens and am thrilled to add this to my collection!
The now vintage Johnson Brothers blue and white ‘Willow’ pattern was purchased in the late 70’s. It has some crazing and I no longer use it for everyday, but I enjoy using it on occasion. Paula Deen ‘Spring Prelude’ salad plates with a sunflower yellow border is the perfect accompaniment to the Italian pitcher! As long-time readers know my tables usually have memories attached. The silver-plated spoons were gifted to me by my forever friend, Patti. There is no one that appreciates a beautiful tablesetting more than she does! The monogrammed tea napkins also have a sweet memory. Many years ago, before my niece was to leave for a six month mission trip to South Africa, I planned a tea for her. Many friends came to pray and ask special blessings for her trip. It was a sweet and memorable afternoon!
More memories are attached with the Arthur Court wine glass serving up fresh strawberries and blueberries. Our son and daughter-in-love used the glass for sharing Communion at their wedding in 2012! There is nothing better than fresh eggs to make egg salad for petite tea sandwiches. Our son furnishes us with fresh eggs from his chickens! Rounding out the fruit and sandwiches are blueberry muffins. The extra muffins were enjoyed by my sweet Daddy!
Our garden is filling out, a little slower than usual!
I am way behind on decorating the cottage porch for spring. I think it is so late, I will just skip the spring and decorate for summer!
“To plant a garden is to dream of tomorrow.”
~Audrey Hepburn
“There is poetry among the wildflowers.”
~ Rachel Irene Stevenson
One more memory to share that goes along with this photo. Take note of the partial view of the caned chair. We have a set of four of these chairs, one lives inside the cottage and others are kept upstairs in RM’s workshop. RM’s memory of the chairs go back to his childhood and the Florida panhandle. These chairs belonged to his great-grandparents, and at one time had a place in their Florida home!

Pam, What a wonderful table to enjoy tea with a view of your garden and vase of wildflowers! I’ve always admired your butterfly teapot and miss Pier 1 too. Your tablecloth from Shannon is beautiful! I love blue and yellow together, and contrast of colors with your pitcher and ‘Spring Prelude’ salad plates against the blue of your tablecloth. Johnson Brothers ‘Willow Blue’ is such a classic pattern. So many sweet memories at your table too. What a treat to have fresh eggs from your son and daughter-in-love, especially with eggflation! I’d love to meet the ladies responsible sometime in a post. 😊 As always, it’s a treat to join you for tea. Happy Tuesday ☕ 💗

Thanks so much, Mary. It is definitely a treat to have fresh eggs! Wishing you a wonderful week 🩷

So beautiful, dear friend. I wish we were close enough to enjoy an afternoon respite with tea and blueberry muffins. I miss us being able to get together for meals and making new memories, but I have so many wonderful memories of our times together through the years. Lots of love to you and all of the family.

Thank you, my friend! I also miss our opportunities to share meals and make memories 🩷 Love to you and Mike!

I feel the same way about Pier 1, so many beautiful and whimsical dishes and ceramics in my home that I didn’t need, but love. Your table is lovely.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Carole! Happy week to you!

Be still my heart! This is so perfect it makes my heart sing. Oh the yellow pitcher with wild flowers on the gorgeous blue table cloth from France and topped with Blue Willow China. Finished with the memories of all the things. It’s not amazing that you are so loved by your followers. EM might have the best name for the cottage. Why? Because it’s surrounded by flowers that butterflies are drawn to. And we your readers are also. I’m keeping this one!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, your comments warm my heart! Thank you for being a faithful reader and follower! Wishing you a lovely week 🩷

Pam, the tablecloth looks beautiful with your lovely tea setting. I always adore the butterfly teapot when you display it on your tea tables, The wildflower bouquet in the golden yellow pitcher is gorgeous. It ties back beautifully to the Paula Deen plates and adds another touch of French Country to the setting. I always love how you incorporate special memories and treasures into your settings. The treats you are serving look so delicious. Egg salad is one of my favorites! I have so enjoyed my visit today having tea in your stunning gardens. May you have a most blessed day, my dear friend!

Pam, the teapot is such a special piece and I know you must smile every time you see it. A perfect match with the lovely tablecloth. Of course all your plants and flowers are always breathtaking. Everyone is talking about all the rain, we need it so but we were in a small area where it didn’t rain. Hope you are enjoying the week……….hugs.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Emily, you are so sweet! Emily we didn’t receive that much rain, it was cloudy and looked like it would pour and then it would pass over us. We had a really good rain on Saturday afternoon. Thank you and wishing you a great week!

Happy Tuesday, dear Pam! What a lovely tea table set for two with a view of your gardens! This table is set full of memories! I loved hearing about every one of them. How sweet of Shannon to gift you that beautiful tablecloth! She is a sweetheart!
I love your teapot. How precious that your granddaughter loves it as well.
A little side note… When we were driving home, we drove through northwest Alabama just to set our feet on the ground. We needed Alabama for our 49th state. All we need now is North Dakota. I thought of you and Jenna the whole time we drove through your beautiful state! There was no time for trying to meet up with you as we had to be in Kentucky at a certain time. 🥹
Happy Tuesday dear friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Nancy! Shannon is a sweetheart. I thought you probably traveled in the Northwest of Alabama. We live in the Northeast and Jenna lives about sixty miles southwest of me! Enjoy your gardening!
Roxanne Bernard says

Enjoy this beautiful spring day!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Roxanne. I have not heard of Home Worthy, but I will definitely look it up and watch. Wishing you a wonderful week and holiday weekend!

Pam, that butterfly teapot is gorgeous! I agree about missing Pier I. I didn’t shop often, but when I did, I always found something enticing. You already know I admire your beautiful gardens. To have a wildflower garden is extra special. I love seeing the bicycle in the background. Reminds us of the two sweet girls that also frequent your gardens.
The tea table with the French cloth is delightful. I’ve dined at La Cigalle in Nantes, France several times. It’s a treat for the eyes! In addition to the delicious food, the ambiance with it’s 19th century mosaic, ceramics, and woodwork is a sight to behold. Your cloth is certainly a special gift. Shannon has impeccable taste.
Fresh eggs! That’s always a treat. My sister has chickens, and of late four little chicks have hatched. That’s exciting!
Thanks for having all of us to your delightful tea. It’s an honor and a pleasure to be invited to join in with my own teatime. Thank you!
