Happy Tuesday, friends! The Autumnal Equinox is this coming Sunday and it will officially mark the first day of autumn. Are you noticing any signs of fall?
“When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.”
Psalm 94:19 (ESV)
It is the third Tuesday of the month and that means “teatime” with friends!
Mary and I are excited for Sarah from Hyacinths For The Soul to join us. Sarah’s collections and creativity are always fascinating! You will find Mary’s and Sarah’s links at the bottom of this post.
Rain was forecast for most of last week. Tuesday looked like my best opportunity to have a sunny afternoon. By the time I had everything set in the cottage garden, the clouds rolled in, but fortunately no rain. It was nice to have the clouds to cool down the temperature. Rain finally came in on Friday!
EM and I were shopping in TJ Maxx this past May when she spotted this whimsical mushroom teapot. I enjoy the sweet memories that are being made as I take each grandchild shopping and out to lunch as part of their birthday celebrations. We shop at several places for them to choose a few special gifts. Sorry I digressed, EM said, “PJ you have to buy this teapot.” It didn’t take much convincing because I thought it was cute and fun. I also thought it appeared it was possibly from Blue Sky Clayworks and upon turning it upside down, I was correct!
Pumpkin tea with cardamom and cinnamon has the perfect amount of spice and warmth for a September tea!
The small tea table was placed in front of the Autumn Fire Sedum that is in full bloom. You might remember in my June garden post we were puzzled that this sedum was blooming in June. I asked several gardening friends and no one had any idea why it was blooming. My dear friend, Martha (hydrangea farm) said cut it back and maybe it would bloom in late summer. It started blooming again in August.
I saw these cute mushroom salad plates while browsing the fall decor at Hobby Lobby. Of course, they were perfect with the teapot!
For a sweet treat, I made spice bundtlets and filled the center with fig preserves. RM and my Daddy thoroughly enjoyed them.
April Cornell’s Dahlia Days tablecloth was chosen for its warm colors. Vintage cinnamon-colored napkins are from a lovely shop in Highlands, NC.
With the mushroom teapot gracing the table, I decided to make stuffed mushrooms for a savory bite. Cremini mushrooms were stuffed with cream cheese, herbs of Provence, and freshly shredded Parmesan and baked in a pre-heated 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. Quick and easy, but delicious if you like mushrooms, and we do!
September bounds joyfully into the spotlight, taking center stage, rightfully boasting of bringing us equal moments of daylight and darkness, but soon thereafter must plan an exit, taking notice that October is warming up backstage.

The 3-wheel Schwinn bicycle’s basket is still overflowing with pink and white vinca. So far, a trio of orange pumpkins on the garden table is all of the autumn decor we have outdoors. Hopefully that will change this week!
The flower arrangement is simple. Autumn fire sedum, cosmos, and coleus were cut from the garden and placed in one of a pair of hand-crafted river birch bark vases. The vases are also from a shop in Highlands.
Mary and Sarah have prepared beautiful teatimes for your enjoyment. Click the links below to share a cuppa with these talented friends!

Good morning, Pam! I adore your whimsical mushroom teapot and adorable plates you found! 🍄 I had to chuckle that EM recognizes and supports your tea and shopping habits. 😊 Your pumpkin tea sounds delightful for this time of year, as do your spiced bundtlets with fig preserves and stuffed mushrooms. I love and have admired your April Cornell’s Dahlia Days tablecloth… the soft and muted color palette mimics what is happening in the garden in September. What a fun double blooming on your Autumn Fire Sedum…one of many garden mysteries! Our garden is getting a good soaking (or rather a hard beating) from PTC8 moving through. I’m happy to get the rain which is long overdue, I just wish I didn’t have to get out drive in it this morning. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. 🍂☕️🍁 🧡 P.S. Butch is such a poet and I love his September quote.

Thank you, Mary. I will share with Butch what you said. Happy week!

Love your new teapot your personal shopper picked for you, Pam, and the HL plates go so well! The AC tablecloth is perfect for this month and this setting. I was wondering when you would get to the savory mushrooms. I eyed those instantly! I love stuffed mushrooms. The sweet cakelets with fig preserves sound really good too!
Rain? What’s that? Seriously, we are so deep in drought, and even with Francine and Cyclone 8, we have barely a drizzle in forecast. It just keeps skirting around us. I used to always cut my Autumn Joy sedum back in June, mostly because it got so leggy. Even then I’d have to stake it with a peony ring. The color on your Autumn Fire is great, a perfect backdrop and centerpiece for your tea table.
Happy Tuesday! Send rain!

That is cute, my personal shopper. EM loves jewelry and she has requested everything. We receive about an inch of rain. Everything is still dry. It rained west of us, but we are thankful for what we received.

good morning, Pam! this is a lovely, winsome reminder to pull out the kettle and teapot and all those lovely cups and saucers. the season of iced tea is rapidly leaving us, the warmth of a piping hot cuppa is arriving even as we speak.

Thank you, Linda! Enjoy the piping hot cuppa, my friend!

Isn’t that the cutest thing! I’ve always had a very soft spot for red dotted mushrooms. they’re so magical and I have many on my whimsical Christmas tree. This is a darling table setting, Pam, right down to the plates. If I ever meet you at your home for tea, do use this one!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jeanie, I am so glad that you like the mushroom teapot. I will definitely use it when you drop by for a cuppa!

This is so cute and fun Pam! The mushroom teapot is so whimsical, and looks so nice paired with the AC tablecloth you chose and the HL mushroom plates. The stuffed mushrooms are the perfect tea time treat at your mushroom themed tea party! The mini bundts with fig jam sound wonderful too. I love the river birch bark vase, I don’t remember seeing that before. Of course your beautiful garden setting adds to the enjoyment and the Autumn Sedum is gorgeous in the background. EM has good taste! I enjoyed Butch’s quote too~
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Jenna. I was excited when EM spotted the teapot. She is real observant of everything. Happy week!

Good morning Pam! I am so happy to hear the Queen is having a positive impact on your shopping habits! That teapot is just delightful. Your entire table says Welcome Fall! And those mushrooms, oh my goodness, yum!
The weather gurus promised rain all weekend that never materialized, but this morning we are getting a little.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
The Queen loves to go shopping with me. I am happy you are getting a little rain.

Your teapot brought back long ago memories when I put mushroom wallpaper in the kitchen. Today it makes me wonder what was wrong with me. But I do love EM chose it to be used on the tea table today and the plates are perfect. Also the birch tree flawier vase suits the occasion. AC tablecloth also. Butchs’ comment about October warming up in the background is the opposite of what happening here as the days are cooking off quickly. Glad you received rain!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, I hope your winter won’t be bitterly cold. I remember seeing mushroom wallpaper many years ago. Have a wonderful week!

Good morning, Pam! I have so enjoyed my visit for tea this morning. That teapot is adorable, and the sweet plates you found pair wonderfully with it. The beautiful April Cornell tablecloth with its fall palette provides the perfect foundation for your table. The Autumn Joy sedum is gorgeous! Mine is a light pink right now. The honey bees love it! Your cakes and stuffed mushrooms look delicious. I enjoyed reading about your birthday shopping trips your granddaughters. My birthday was always close to the start of school. So my grandmother and mom would always take me to lunch and school clothes shopping for my birthday. I still have such fond memories. Wishing you a most beautiful day, my sweet friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Shannon for your sweet comments. I enjoyed reading your memories of shopping with your mom and grandmother.

What a delightful fall teatime post. The Autumn Joy Sedum is a perfect backdrop for your AC tablecloth with lovely fall colors. The mushroom teapot steals the show and is so cute. Mushrooms are growing everywhere in lawns here after so much rain. All different types, too. I want to try your stuffed mushroom recipe. It sounds delicious. Those cakelets sound very good also.
I love visualizing your shopping trip with EM. The little mushroom plates fit well on your table.
Love all the quotes! There is a tiny touch of fall in the air. I saw a tiny hint of yellow leaves beginning on our hickory tree this morning. Have a great week.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Bonnie, we didn’t get much rain, I was so disappointed. No mushrooms growing around here. You will like the stuffed mushrooms and they are quick and easy. Great as an appetizer!
Sarah Anderson says
Pam, your darling mushroom teapot most definitely needed to join your home! I rarely see pieces from Blue Sky Clayworks, but I have one or two that are longtime favorites. Seeing your Autumn Fire Sedum in full blooms has me adding that to my list. I must find one to plant here. Your April Cornell linen is indeed perfect, and the delicious treats on this tea table are calling my name. I love figs! It’s always a pleasure to join you and Mary for Tea on Tuesdays. I so appreciate being included! Sipping tea in your cottage garden makes it all the more special. Thank you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sarah, you will love the Autumn Fire Sedum, it is a prolific bloomer. Sarah, we love having you join us for tea!

Pam, Your tea table is perfect for fall. The mushroom teapot is so cute as are the plates. The mushrooms have been updated from the late 70’s and early 80’s craze. Everything then was a shade of gold it seems. My kitchen set came from Sears and included the canisters and spice rack back then. I love the updated red mushrooms and the fall colors on the mushroom plates. EM has a good eye! The mini bundts look delicious as do the baked mushrooms. Your vase is absolutely adorable! I noticed it right away as it is so unique. The AC tablecloth is the perfect color for fall. Glad you got some rain as we know you needed it. We got over 5″ of rain as it rained Thursday – Monday. The sedum is beautiful and adds to the fall color. Enjoy your day. Clara ❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Clara. Oh my, I had the same canister set from Sears and had forgotten about it until you mentioned it. I saw it somewhere on the internet a couple of years ago and they were asking a pretty penny for the set. I didn’t have the spice rack. So happy you didn’t have any damage from the remnants of the hurricane!

Pam what a cute teapot! And how sweet EM picked it out for you. The Autumn Sedum is one of my favorites and I have a “bunch” of autumn Joy blooming right now. Love the mushrooms and speaking of which, my daughter has a type of mushroom that is slender with white bottom and red pencil shaped top…she says it eventually becomes all orange and she doesn’t know what it is. ???? Your AC tablecloth and sweets are perfect for your table and I do love stuffed mushrooms of any kind. How talented your Butch is and I so enjoy his quotes and musings on Sundays, Take care my friend…we are still traveling.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Kari. I think we have seen that mushroom here. I will share with Butch your sweet comments. Wow, you are still traveling, enjoy!
