Happy Thursday, sweet friends. By now you all know how much I love the fall season! Grab a cup of coffee and join me on the Sunshine Cottage Porch, you might need your coat!
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
John 14:27 (ESV)
The Sunshine Cottage porch is dressed in rich autumn colors!
Three new autumn additions were added by RM for our grandchildren! I think he likes to spoil them.
Charlotte Daisy enjoys sitting on the porch and observing all the “goings on” around the garden! She has a collection of fall’s bounty in the autumnal-log sitting beside her.
Tis the season for pumpkins! Can one ever have too many?
The pale pink ‘Knucklehead’ (warty) pumpkin is EM’s favorite!
In case you missed Charlotte Daisy’s tea party you can see it here. She is quite proud of herself for throwing her first ever party! Now she has decided to take it easy and enjoy porch sitting!
Pumpkin stacks are festive and fun! I am fond of the candy corn pumpkin. This is the first year that I have seen them!
The small wheel barrow comes out every fall and has taken on a variety of seasonal items, with each year offering something new and a little different! I never know what RM might place in it, sometimes while I’m not looking!
Twilight falls on the Cottage Garden as another picture perfect autumn day is coming to a close.
Cotton boll wreaths return each year to adorn the antique doors!
The grandchildren named the three scarecrows…from left to right…Summer, Pantsy, and Ellis! EM explained their names, but I will spare the details!
“It is a delightful pastime to sit in the pleasant sunshine of autumn, and gaze from this little spot over such a landscape.”
~H.T. Tuckerman
In the background, the bicycle’s basket is full of, you guessed it…pumpkins!
Again, as twilight settles in, an “autumnal glow” is upon the porch and garden.
RM cut goldenrods for the basket and wasps found the blooms immediately. I noticed I caught one in flight!
The ginkgo should be turning yellow soon! We aren’t sure we will see much color since we have been in a drought.
Thank you for your visit and gracious comments. Wishing you pleasant October days!

Absolutely gorgeous! Love the new scarecrows. Fall is my favorite season and we are finally having cooler temperatures. Now if we just had rain. We too are in a drought.
Thank you, Rachel. We have a light frost this morning. Enjoy your day!
The pumpkin stacks are indeed a fun way to display those autumn squash. They are in the squash family, aren’t they? I have a big pumpkin I’ve waited to put outside until yesterday due to the heat. Your gorgeous fall porch needs me to come sit with a cup of coffee and fuzzy sweater. Ahhhh, wouldn’t that be fun? Enjoy the orangy- squash season!
Thank you, Leslie Anne. It would be so much fun for you to sit on the cottage porch and we could talk about your new book!
Good morning, Pam! Sunshine Cottage looks absolutely gorgeous adorned for fall. Seeing all of the beautiful photos with rich autumnal color made me smile. I adore pumpkins, and you have gathered quite a wonderful collection. Charlotte Daisy did such a wonderful job hosting her tea party this week that she deserves a break sitting on the porch. The three new scarecrows are precious! We are in a terrible drought here too. I don’t think we will see much fall color, but it has finally started to cool off. Enjoy your day, dear friend!
Thank you, Shannon. I think I will join Charlotte Daisy for some porch sitting on this gorgeous autumn day’
Pam, Your Sunshine Cottage porch is so happy and colorful. I love the various pumpkins. The warty ones are fun! The candy corn stack is pretty. The new scarecrows are adorable. The basket of goldenrod and wheelbarrow of fall items add more special touches to the porch. I see the log made it next to Charlotte Daisy. Everything is beautiful! Clara❤️
Thank you, Clara! I was just telling Butch that you remembered the log from his Simple Southern Sunday post. Enjoy this beautiful October day ❤️
Fall Fabulous Pam! I love all your pumpkins and the variety you have. Those 3 scarecrows are adorable, so cute!! Charlotte Daisy looks very relaxed and at home on the Sunshine Cottage porch. I know the grands love it all~
Thank you, Jenna. I may do some porch sitting as the day warms up. The grands love it all!
I love the Sunshine Cottage, Pam. Fall is such a rejuvenating time after such a hot summer, in spite of the leaves falling and the cycle of life ending. All your porch decor is so fun, and the grands must absolutely be giddy each time they come over and see Da has provided a new visual treat. I can imagine how Summer and Pantsy got their names, but Ellis baffles me. Curious minds want to know! As for those pumpkin stacks, one thing I know for certain – there is a delicate balance to stacking! It’s all very fun and creative, Pam, and the glow of the autumn garden is beautiful.
Thank you, Rita. Ellis came from a book that Ella Mae is reading. She reminds me of myself. I read constantly as a child and she is doing the same. It makes me happy that she has such a love for books and reading! You are very observant, and that is a great quality that I regularly notice about you!
Pam those scare crows are just adorable. Love the wheel barrel too. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
Thanks so much, Kris!
Good afternoon, Pam. Sunshine Cottage is all decked out for Fall, and she looks fabulous! Your pumpkin stacks are beautiful. The candy corn pumpkins are fun, and I have one as well. I love the new scarecrows. They are adorable.
Charlotte Daisy looks so relaxed. She was such a delight at her very first tea party.
Thank you for having us over. 🍁🍂🍁
Happy Thursday, my friend!
Thank you, Nancy. I took Charlotte Daisy’s advice to take time to relax. It was a gorgeous day and I made me a hot chocolate and took it outdoors with a new magazine to read. It was nice to relax for a little while!
Enjoy your weekend, my friend!
Pam, thank you for sharing this Autumn wonderland. Those people are adorable. You have displayed everything so beautifully.
HAPPY AUTUMN
Joan,Marilyn and Marion
I am so glad you sweet ladies enjoyed!
Oh, Pam,…how do I choose a favorite in all this autumn goodness?? You make every season (and day) so much more beautiful! I love the candy corn pumpkins and “Knucklehead” and the names of the scarecrows all give me giggles! I’m sure the back story is fun!
Butch, although I’m not always able to comment on your posts, I typically see them and love all the nature landscapes, learning (cotton!), sunsets, sunrises, quotes, and everything that happens around your Heavenly Homestead! Fall is my favorite time of year. Pam and Butch–I’ve been working part-time and was also told, “To not overdo it.” I’m leaving for Texas to visit my oldest son and family (we’re going camping at Big Bend National Park). I’ve been given strict orders from drs, family, other loved ones. I’ve had struggles; yet, so many have it worse! I count each day I’m here a blessing. I miss when I’m not here visiting your beautiful place!
I’m sending much love and prayers to your entire precious family. We all wish you pleasant and bountiful October days! 💛🍂🩷🙏🤗
Karla, your sweet comments warm our hearts. Yesterday, I decorated my autumn tree in the cottage. It makes the cottage feel festive. How fun to go camping with your son and family. That will renew your spirit and a peaceful and perfect place to be out in God’s beautiful creation. Yes, take care of yourself.
Sending you love and prayers, sweet friend 🙏🏻🧡🍂💛 🍂🙏🏻
Sunshine Cottage looks like a very happy place dressed in her autumn finery. Charlotte Daisy looks exactly like me after a party…feet up in her slippers!
I love the trio of scarecrows with their special names and that little wheelbarrow. Can’t wait to see the grands’ Halloween costumes!
Thank you, Roxanne. It was a beautiful day and I sat outside and read my new Victoria magazine with a cup of hot chocolate. It was nice to take a little time to relax!
You have decorated Sunshine Cottage Gorgeous! Love all the pumpkins!
Thank you, Nancy! It is fun to decorate the cottage!
I’m late visiting Pam, yesterday got away from me with all my garden chores. I love seeing The Sunshine Cottage decked out for fall! RM does such a great job foraging and placing all your autumnal goodies. The scarecrows are adorable, love their names! 😊 I hope you’re enjoying some beautiful fall weather. We’ve slept with the windows open…it’s be glorious. We’re warming back up to the 80s next week so it’s short lived. We had 7 inches of rain 3 weeks ago from Helene, but not a drop since. I’m back to watering again which is hard to believe. Enjoy your weekend! 🍂 🍁 🧡
No, you are never late. Thank you, Mary. The weather has been gorgeous, we had two mornings with a light frost. We will be in the low 80’s and nights will be in the 50’s. We barely got any rain with Helene. Our forecast shows no rain in the next 10 days 🍂🧡🍂
Autumn has certainly arrived! So festive, and those pumpkins are wonderful.
I love pumpkins, as is evident! Thanks Carole!
So pretty Pam…I know the grands are loving all the decor at the Sunshine Cottage. Happy Fall
Thank you, friend! The grands love it all, especially the candy!
Just giddy with delight at the sight of it all…. what an array of pumpkins and new visitors to the Sunshine Cottage. The cotton wreaths never cease to add
that harvest touch to the doors. It all spells contentment and joy in the season.
Bless you for gifting the day with your imaginations and labor.
You are sweet, Mary! Autumn is my favorite season and I love decorating with its colors! Wishing you a wonderful evening and a beautiful Sunday!
What fun for your grands to name the new scarecrows and to enjoy all those gorgeous pumpkins surrounding the Sunshine Cottage. Miss Charlotte Daisy is the perfect porch greeter. How your grandchildren must live to visit, as I know I would. Happy Sunday, Pam. 🍁🧡🍁
Kitty, thank you for your sweet comments. The grands visited with us all afternoon and we played outside. It was a special time 🧡🍂🧡

Pam, the Sunshine Cottage looks gorgeous all decked out for fall! It’s good to see Charlotte Daisy relaxing after hosting her first tea party and the three new additions for the grands are darling. I love love your collection of pumpkins and I’m with EM for the pink warty one as my favorite, but I also really like the candy corn pumpkin too. The gardens are lovely and I’m glad you found a wee bit of time to relax. Happy Monday!
