Merry Tuesday and I am delighted that you are here for the most wonderful time of the year!
“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.”
Luke 2:7 (ESV)
I am joining fourteen talented table stylists for a Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by my friend, Rita from Panoply!
The early morning sunlight casts a beautiful glow on the table!
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you be of good cheer
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”
There are many Christmas songs that I play on repeat each year. One that I love is Andy Williams singing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. It was written in 1963, by Edward Pola and George Wyle. Wyle was the vocal director for Williams’ television show and he wrote the song especially for the Christmas show. It has consistently been in the Billboard Top Ten Holiday Songs since 2001.
“It’s the hap-happiest season of all” as birthdays and holiday meals center around our dining room table. I am always looking for new ways to use what I have collected through all our years of marriage. A pair of angels made their first visit to the table after moving all around the house for more than twenty years.
Golden antler napkin rings offer a whimsical touch to a more formal setting. They were a purchase a few years back on a trip to Highlands, NC.
Red stemware is used for many occasions during the year, Valentine’s Day, Independence Day, and of course, Christmas!
“There’ll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting.”
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year
There’ll be much mistletoeing
And hearts will be glowing when loved ones are near
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”
The centerpiece was so easy to make…a fresh pineapple surrounded by oranges and lemons on a bed of pine and cedar. Loblolly pine and fruit were placed on either side of the centerpiece. Eastern red cedar adorns the chandelier.
‘Winter Holiday’ dinner and ‘rose wreath’ salad plates by Fitz and Floyd are currently available on their website. Elegant gold glass chargers came from Hobby Lobby years ago. In case you missed Monday Morning Blooms yesterday, I used ‘Winter Holiday’ in a different way. The fruit centerpiece was placed in a lovely Arte Italica ‘Natalie’ bowl!
Sparkling white grape juice with fresh cranberries and a sprig of rosemary is a refreshing drink for all ages to enjoy!
The beautiful Department 56 angels are extremely heavy and each holds a candle. They were ordered from Horchow many, many years ago.
When I began looking through the photos of the table, I loved seeing the angel in front of the large painting on the wall!
The velvet runner is often used on my Christmas tables!
Another long-ago purchase is the Williams Sonoma tablecloth. It is plain on top but has the most fabulous border of six Christmas carols with a well-known written phrase and a descriptive illustration of each carol! I remember well the Christmas long ago when RM and I walked into the store in early autumn and found this tablecloth on clearance. It remains a favorite, but a pain to iron!
‘Holly’ napkins are by April Cornell and modern gold flatware adds a bit more elegance!

Pam, could you hear me singing along to Andy Williams’ song through the internet?! We had that original album growing up, loved his family show, and now my girls love his classic Christmas albums too (one actually plays original vinyl!). Your table is fabulous! My goodness, those angels are just magnificent. I always wonder when I see beautiful pieces like that how my friends like you store them so as to avoid chipping and breakage. Your use of the fruits and greens paired with your salad plates is beautiful. The tablecloth and chargers add elegance and, of course, having the whimsy of the antler napkin rings and the ‘adult’drinks served will make the grands feel extra special. I love that morning light, my favorite time of day.
Pam, thank you for bringing your family traditions and table talents to our hop. I appreciate you!

Woke up early and what did I see , A most Wonderful post of Christmas past in the dinning room. The angles from Horchow are magnificent. And Horchow is still around I think. And the table cloth is beautiful. It’s a large one and fits your table perfectly. Any time you use fresh cut greens that Butch brings then I will love them. The table would not be complete without the red glasses. I saw a little of the Christmas tree sitting in the window. Now eating at that table would be very special.

Alice, you were up early. Thank you for your faithful visits and sweet comments, my friend. You remain in our prayers and thoughts ❤️🙏🏻

Department 56 always has such beautiful things, don’t they? Those angels are spectacular. And I love the pineapple and fruit. That song is a good one — we did that as one of our Christmas exchange songs one year and it was fun finding things that related to it for our gift bags! A gorgeous table, Pam!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Jeanie. How fun it must have been to have used the song for a Christmas exchange of gifts. Wishing you a lovely day!
Mary says
Good Morning Pam, I have the Johnny Mathis version of ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ in my Christmas playlist and it’s a favorite! I love the simplicity of the pineapple and fruit in your ‘Natale’ bowl, especially flanked by your stunning angel candleholders! I love using fresh greenery at the holidays and it’s beautiful on your chandy. I love the overhead shot looking down at your beautiful table with your tree in the corner…the gold accents from your chargers, napkin rings and flatware are lovely. And what a gorgeous border on your tablecloth! I hear you about ironing, wrinkles in tablecloths are my pet peeve. Have you ever tried spraying with Downy Wrinkle Releaser? I mainly use it on clothes when traveling but have used it on a vertical surfaces when I can’t iron. As always, it’s a treat to have a virtual seat at your table. Merry Tuesday! 🎄❤️

I love that song Pam, and it will be in my thoughts all day long! Your table is holiday gorgeous, the angel candlesticks are stunning and the simple centerpiece of a bowl of fruit on the velvet runner is elegant. The red stemware is fabulous, and all the red, green and gold insures this is a special occasion! I always love seeing the fresh greenery on your chandy. Everything looks absolutely beautiful, you are ready for a very Merry holiday season!
Roxanne Bernard says
Pam, I never get tired of that song or any Christmas music for that matter! Your angels are so beautiful, they are stunning on the table. Your centerpiece has a distinct Williamsburg feel to it. And I love those antler napkin rings. It’s a beautiful, sunny day here but quite chilly. I just attempted my first Turkey sausage gumbo, and it is simmering away on the stove. (My roux looked pretty good). Wish you and Butch lived closer and could come to dinner!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Roxanne, are you dancing yet? I can see you dancing, my friend! The turkey sausage gumbo sounds delicious for this cold day. If we lived closer, we would definitely come for dinner. Thank you❤️

Pam, I’ll be humming or singing this special song all afternoon. That table linen is gorgeous and perfect for the beautiful tabletop details. Each piece is stunning, and that gorgeous chandelier certainly sets an elegant mood. Thank you for sharing all this beauty and heartfelt traditions for the season. Happy Holidays, sweet friend!

Your dining room is so elegant. I love the angels holding the candesticks, the table linens, plates, and goblets. Everything is lovely! Your use of greenery is pretty, too, especially on your chandelier.
Marsha says
Pam, your lovely and elegant table made me feel like I was in Europe. Such rich colors and classic prints, especially the angels. The tablecloth is such a perfect selection for the table along with the colorful fruit. The dinnerware stack is as much of a exquisite classic as the son, It is a Wonderful Time of the Year. (I love the song and look forward to hearing it each year.) The fresh greenery along with the soft and rich velvet runner is such a beautiful pair. All of it together reminds me of being in the rich castles like the Biltmore at Christmas. Merry Christmas Pam.
Kim says
Oh my goodness Pam. Like Jenna, that song has been going through my head all day – such a happy song! Your table is so so beautiful. Those angels are beyond gorgeous and how special that this is their first time on the table. The chandy wrapped in cedar is stunning. I love the fruit centerpiece and the velvet runner is so perfect. And that tablecloth – oh my. The plate stack is so pretty and I love the antler napkin rings on the holly napkins. As always, it is an absolute pleasure to have a virtual seat at your table my friend, and I wish for you and your family a most blessed and joyous holiday season!
Linda Primmer says
Pam, indeed it’s the most wonderful time of the year. That song is so lovely and it brings back precious memories of Christmas past. Your table run is so pretty with your Natale bowl of fruits. The holly napkins look so festive with the angler napkin rings. You always have the prettiest tablecloths. Those angels are breath taking. Such a statement. Love your gorgeous chandelier decked out with greenery. Always a pleasure hopping along with you. Happy holidays.

Love the Fitz & Floyd Christmas plates, Pam, I’m a big fan. The traditional look of the table setting brings back great memories of Christmas past. The angel is particularly eye-catching as well as being beautiful. Using fruit to create a centerpiece is perfect for Christmas and I love the use of the music lyrics to establish that great holiday atmosphere. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season.

Pam, your Christmas table is one of timeless elegance. I love the use of your fresh fruits adorning the table, it reminds me of Colonial Williamsburg. Your angels are stunning and reside so beautifully over your beautiful table. Your chandelier is spectacular with the greenery!! It Las looks so lovely!! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!!
Nancy Ruegg says
Gorgeous, Pam! I love the way your tablescape echoes many of the colors in the street=scene painting. If you didn’t do that on purpose, then your expertise with color must have led you to the coordinated choices by instinct! Those angels are lovely–such an elegant addition to a stately table.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Nancy. I really didn’t give much thought to the painting, I wanted to use the angels that had graced many places in our home, but never the dining table!
Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says
Pam, those angels are breathtaking! I spotted them first thing as I adore angels. In fact, my living room Christmas tree is adorned with many angel ornaments that I have collected over the years. The centerpiece of fresh greens and fruit is both beautiful and festive. The tablecloth is such a pretty addition. You made me laugh about ironing. It is definitely a chore that I don’t like. Your dining room looks gorgeous decorated for Christmas with the tree glowing in the background. I missed joining you and the other girls on the hop. We have had a viral respiratory infection moving through the house and my youngest son’s quickly turned into pneumonia. We are all finally on the mend. May you have a most blessed Christmas season. Happy Friday, dear friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Shannon. I don’t know why I never placed them on the dining room table! Ironing is not my favorite thing to do. I so missed you on the hop. I am sorry sickness ran through the house. Happy you all are on the mend! Blessings always~

How did those beautiful angels miss taking pride of place on the dining room table before this? I imagine they are very rare now, or I would be on the hunt…
Such tasteful elegance just permeates the whole setting; every appointment
complimenting the whole and each other. In the right frame of mind, ironing can be soothing…really~ you will have to take my word for it…. I am still working on the dining room decor here after a slight interruption, but determined…. As ever, thank you for the inspiration.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, dearest Mary! I did check Replacements and Ebay and did not find them. I put them out each Christmas and don’t know why I never placed them on the dining room table. I saw that most unlikely interruption 🥰 Merry Sunday!
Tea With Jennifer says
The shot of the morning light coming through onto your tablescape highlights it up beautifully Pam. I also hadn’t thought of using fruit in a table setting! 😊
Blessings, Jennifer

Pam, The Most Wonderful Time of The Year is definitely at the top of my Christmas playlist! But, when I saw your table I couldn’t help but hum Hark The Harold Angels Sing! Those angels are truly gorgeous! I love your fruit centrepiece with touches of fresh greenery. So very festive. Your place settings are holiday elegance at its’ finest. So pretty! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
Sandra @ Dinner at Eight says
Pam, this table is really lovely — elegant and multi-layered. Starting with that fabulous tablecloth. I love the way it’s designed with festive illustrations on the sides and a plain top bordered by bold red and green stripes that frame your tablescape. The angels with their torches are simply spectacular with such attention to detail. They’re imposing, but they don’t dominate the fresh centerpiece you’ve created. I love the wide range of colors you’ve used in the table runner, napkins, china, stemware and the fruit that all flow together harmoniously. The reds sprinkled throughout really pop. A lovely way to celebrate! Merry Christmas
Jennifer Martin says
Oh Pam, your home truly embodies the joy and beauty of the season! Every detail of your Christmas table is so thoughtfully curated and radiates warmth and love. I love that song too and I like the way you’ve woven it throughout the post. What a fun way to share it. I love your comment about ironing of the linen – that’s always my challenge with several of my linens too – LOL! Thank you for sharing your creativity and heart with us; it’s a blessing to see!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Jennifer! Your comments are heartwarming on this cold and gray Monday!
