Welcome to the garden where I have set a table under the arbor…with you in mind!

It is Tea on Tuesdays and I am happy you are here!
Mary and I are excited to welcome back Jennifer from Celebrating Everyday Life. There was a little serendipity for this particular tea. Without any previous planning we found out that both of us had a “strawberry” theme. Sweet Jennifer followed suit, so there are now three strawberry teatimes!
You will find the links for Mary’s and Jennifer’s beautiful tea tables at the bottom of this post.
I set my table under the arbor where the Lady Banks roses have climbed up and over. The roses bloomed in early spring and they were glorious, but now they provide a green canopy of shade, perfect for afternoon tea. My inspiration was the sweet Kent Pottery strawberry teapot that I found at TJ Maxx a few months ago.
For many years there was a nearby farm that grew strawberries where you could pick your own, or buy them freshly picked. The above photos are older. Our EM was two years old (now 9) when she was eating more than she picked. Two years ago EK and WL visited the farm to try their hand at picking the berries. The farm’s strawberries were the sweetest and were great for freezing to enjoy later in cobblers and pies or spoon over pound cake! Unfortunately, the farm closed. Store bought are just not the same!
I found the cute strawberry cups/saucers on Amazon. The strawberries were served in a green depression bowl that I bought when we first married. I have had it for at least 50 years, so it is definitely old. Depression glass was very affordable in those days so I bought several pieces, with the green color being my favorite. In the photo below, you can see a green depression compote serving up strawberry and pistachio macarons!
The arbor is on the west side of the garden and serves as an additional entrance to the garden. Sunshine Cottage can be seen in the background.
I love bringing memories to the table. The strawberry napkin holder is destined to be one of those memories. Our son and WL went Mother’s Day shopping the Saturday prior to the big day. You know guys don’t often shop early for occasions. WL was so excited about his choice for my gift, and so was I when I opened this darling little strawberry napkin holder. It was perfect for my theme!
Vintage ice cream sundae glasses were used for a strawberry trifle, excellent for the warm afternoon!
My theme demanded the tea have a taste of strawberry, and I thought of the perfect tea to satisfy the requirement!
Taylors of Harrogate strawberry and vanilla tea is a fruity green tea softened by the flavors of ripe strawberry and gentle vanilla, a lovely accompaniment for a strawberry theme!
It was an ideal May afternoon with partly cloud skies and periods of dappled sunlight on the table!
A lovely ceramic strawberry jam jar made by beloved Mother and dated 1979 is a precious memory for my table. Long-time readers know of her many talents!
A ‘Botanic Garden’ dinner plate frames a Bordallo Pinheiro salad plate with an April Cornell ‘Essential’ red napkin.
“When spring opens its starting gates, and the run for the ‘Sweetstakes’ begins, it is almost certain Miss Strawberry will be first to cross the finish line.”
~Butch Richardson
I visited my sweet friend this past week and she sent this lovely bouquet home with me. The immature snowflake and French hydrangea blooms were exactly what my table needed! I added a couple of Queen Anne’s Lace that are in bloom and free for the picking on our roadsides.
The trifle was made with pound cake, lemon pudding, strawberries, and fresh whipped cream…so easy but delicious!
The garden is my “go to” place for late spring and summer tables.
This strawberry teapot has happily joined my growing collection!

Good Morning Pam, Such a pretty setting for tea under your arbor! I’m envious of your shade in the garden on a hot afternoon with the pretty dappled sunshine highlighting your table. Your green paisley tablecloth and rye grass in the background looks so cool and inviting! I love your strawberry-themed tea décor including pretty new teapot and cups, your mom’s ceramic jam jar and the adorable napkin holder from WL. Your trifles look so delicious and the perfect summer afternoon teatime treat with your strawberry green tea! The photos of your grands strawberry picking are so sweet. I know you miss the strawberry farm. As always, it’s a treat to you to share a cup with you and join you for Tea on Tuesdays. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 🍓☕❤️
Thank you, Mary. I love our Tea on Tuesdays! We have possible tornadoes and straight line winds predicted for tonight!
That’s a perfect tea if ever I see one. Strawberry tea sounds so perfect and strawberry picking with the grands a perfect memory but then your mom’s strawberry jam jar is perfect too. And to finish there is a perfect strawberry trifle. How ever did you keep Butch away from that trifle long enough to take a picture? Have a perfect day❣️
Alice, you are a sweetheart! Butch is restricting his sweets, otherwise he would have been circling the table waiting for me to finish taking photos. However, I enjoyed the trifle! 🍓❤️
Hi Pam,
Oh my gosh how sweet your table looks. What a fun and pretty tea party. I love strawberries and how nice you can fresh pick your own. Have a beautiful week. Hugs. Kris
Thank you, Kris. I also love a juicy ripe strawberry! 🍓❤️
Oh! Oh! Oh! I am loving your tea time! I am so excited you did a Strawberry theme. Your tea time in your garden is such a delight. I love the napkin holder from WL! What a sweet surprise! Your strawberry teapot is darling, along with the strawberry teacups. And your mother’s strawberry jam jar is a beautiful accent, but most of all, the loving remembrance of your dear Momma makes it so special. I love, love, love your tea time. Thanks for the delicious parfaits!
I just purchased vintage salad plates with a lovely vine of Strawberries on them. I have collected many vintage strawberry accents over time. I am about to set our dining room with a Strawberry theme. I’ll be sure to post.
Happy Tuesday, dear Pam!
Thank you, Nancy for your sweet comments! I can’t wait to see your vintage strawberry accents 🍓❤️

Happy Tuesday, dear Pam!
I was having wifi problems. I apologize for the double comment. 😌
No problem 🥰
I love anything “strawberry” and your beautiful table is full of happiness. Your mother’s strawberry pot is beautiful. And sweet little WL picked a perfect gift! Our church is having a potluck next week, and I have had no idea what to take. You have inspired me to make a strawberry trifle! Our U pick did not open either, but you will never believe what I just discovered is 10 minutes from my house…a U pick lavender farm! Wish you could come with me for a tour and some picking!!
Thank you, Roxanne, I do love a happy table! Wyatt was so excited over his gift. A strawberry trifle will be perfect for potluck. A lavender farm would be fun and the scent would be heavenly!
Pam, your table is beautiful! The strawberry theme is so appropriate for this time of year as they are at their peak. I’m going to try the trifle as it looks so good and sounds tasty! How sweet of WL to pick that cute napkin holder. His daddy is setting a wonderful example. All your sweet memories on the table just add to the theme and narrative. I remember the original posting of EM’s strawberry picture and it’s hard to believe it was that long ago! I really hate to hear that the farm closed. Sustaining a farm is really challenging it seems. We’re in for severe storms today. We have dealt with so many storms lately that it’s rather stressful. Enjoy your day. Clara❤️
Thank you, Clara for your sweet comments. Wow, you have a wonderful memory 🍓
We have tornadoes and straight line winds predicted for tonight. It is very stressful! Stay safe dear friends 🙏🏻
I have been following you for a few years now and I love all your table presentations for both Mondays in Bloom and Tea on Tuesdays but this has got to be one of the sweetest tables! The strawberry theme is adorable!!
You do absolutely beautiful tables and I enjoy seeing them every month.
Thank you so much Kathryn for your sweet comments and thank you for following the blog. Your comments warm my heart 🍓❤️
Oh Pam, your strawberry tea under the arbor is simply enchanting! As always, you’ve woven in so many charming and meaningful mementos—what a joy to see. That napkin holder was such an auspicious gift, and that strawberry jam compote… I can’t believe she made that—WOW! The setting is dreamy, and your strawberry teapot adds the perfect pop of charm-a great addition to your collection. I love how you’ve used red and white throughout the table—it feels both festive and graceful. What a lovely way to welcome the season and slow down with something sweet. I’m so grateful to be sharing this Tea on Tuesday with you!
Jennifer, thank you for your sweet and heartwarming comments. So happy to have you join us for Tea on Tuesdays 🍓🫖🍓
So delightful! Such a happy and fun strawberry tea. l’m loving everything, but it always warms my heart when you share your memory things with us, and new special things like WL’s adorable strawberry napkin holder.🍓
It’s so nice that you posted the grands pictures, a thoughtful pause of how quickly they are growing…they are all so very charming!
Thank you Pam for sharing such sweet strawberry joy. I usually do a small strawberry tea for a dear friend’s birthday and I am so happy to have some new ideas, like that delicious trifle!
Sue, your comments are very sweet! I am glad you enjoy the sharing of my memories. Yes, time passes too quickly and grands are growing up! I know your strawberry tea party will be lovely and the trifle is so easy to make🍓❤️
Well, when you have an adorable teapot like that you had better have a strawberry themed party! This is so fun, festive and really pretty. I loved every detail but I have to say I stopped dead in my tracks with that gorgeous trifle. I might have to make that one!
Thank you, Jeanie! The trifle is easy and so delicious
Berry adorable! If I could only eat one fruit, I think it would be strawberries!
Thank you, Cindie. A fresh strawberry is most enjoyable 🍓
Oh Pam, what a mist delightful strawberry teatime you’ve shared today! First of all, the verse from Philippians is one of my favorites, and Bruce’s quote was so so cute. Your teapot is adorable and those teacups, I’m swooning! I’d love a serving of your delicious dessert with some strawberry vanilla tea. Your mom’s ceramic piece is just perfect and your new napkin holder was the perfect gift. What a delight it was to visit you today and share the beauty of your post.
Thank you, Kitty. Your comments warm my heart. I am very sentimental and I love sharing memories. I always enjoy and appreciate your visits🍓
