Happy Thursday! Can you believe that Sunday will be the first day of June? It seems that the days pass so swiftly and seasons change too quickly. Memorial Day is often considered the beginning of summer, however summer officially begins on Friday, June 20th. I am sharing 16 summer tables to hopefully inspire and give you ideas for the season!
“fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

We plant sunflower seeds in our garden every spring. The arrival of their sunny faces declare it is summer and a garden table celebrates them!
Say Hello to Summer With a Garden Tablescape
A favorite china pattern ‘Artesian Road’ by Tracy Porter and an almost vintage tablecloth by April Cornell share my love of mixing patterns!
Blue & White on a Summer Night
I went way back to 2017 to this more formal look for a garden tablesetting. I even hauled out the dining room chairs!
I love hydrangeas and most often use them when they are in bloom for a table centerpiece. Lovely shades of purple, green, and yellow from the April Cornell tablecloth inspired the place settings!
To welcome the first day of summer, I set the picnic table next to our woodlands to avoid the oppressive heat and humidity! A few favorite pieces of majolica escaped the bookcase and landed on the table!
My paternal ‘Grandmother’s Flower Garden’ quilt made its first and only appearance on a table. It was the star and inspiration for the table! (It was used only to display its beauty, but never to serve food).
A Garden Table to Welcome June
A centerpiece of several varieties of hydrangeas and an April Cornell ‘Victoria Rose’ tablecloth welcome June to the garden!
I love desserts that include the refreshing taste of lemons…lemon squares, lemon icebox pie, and my Mother’s lemon cheesecake! I paired lemons with snowflake hydrangeas (from my dear friend’s hydrangea farm), immature limelight blooms, guacamole hosta, and sunflowers for a delightful centerpiece that was placed inside a box!
Our garden is buzzing with this table’s theme…Bees! The cute set of bee salad plates are by Susan Winget!
Zinnias are a mainstay of our summer garden! A ‘zinnia bouquet’ tablecloth by April Cornell was the inspiration for setting a table to honor the colorful zinnias!
Sweet Peaches & Summer Flowers
My favorite summer fruit is a sweet peach. I just realized this peach tablecloth from TJ Maxx has only been used this one time. A county in Alabama is known for growing some of the very best peaches anywhere. Driving south on I-65 you know you have arrived in Chilton County when you see the giant peach water tower on the right hand side of the interstate. A peach cobbler is one of our favorite summertime desserts!
Welcoming Summer With a Garden Tablescape
Hydrangea Arborescens ‘Invincibelle Spirit’ highlight the table and an AC ‘cottage rose’ tablecloth brings the English Country style that I love the most to the garden setting!
The sand-colored linen tablecloth provided the perfect foundation for a seashell-themed table featuring five different hydrangea varieties! A vintage shell box found many years ago was the inspiration for the table!
You have probably noticed many of the summer tables feature hydrangeas which happen to be a favorite of mine. Arranging flowers in a box is an easy method! On a side note, a lady contacted me last year to get permission to use a photo from this post to be the cover of her first cookbook. She sent me a copy and it includes many old-time Southern recipes!
Five years passed between the two beach-themed tables! Ironically both involved funny rain stories!
A Flower Arrangement From the Summer Garden
It is truly a pleasure to cut flowers from our garden for a centerpiece. Busy bee sunflowers, colorful zinnias, and agapanthus stems that remain after the spent blooms have fallen, combine for a summer garden centerpiece!
I hope you will mark your calendars for a Summer Tablescape Blog Hop on Tuesday, June 10th! There will be 18 table stylists to visit with loads of ideas and inspiration for your summer tables!
Thank you for your visit and gracious comments. Wishing you a joy-filled day!

Fabulous tables and garden blooms, Pam. I can see why you were contacted for the photo permission!
Thank you, Rita for your sweet comments. Our garden is rain soaked and weeds are growing by the minute!
A beautiful round up of summer table inspiration Pam! I’m hard pressed to choose a favorite table, but there’s something so cheerful and intrinsically summery about your ‘Zinnia Bouquet’ with your watermelon and colorful stems! Happy Thursday. ♥
Thank you, Mary! Zinnias and sunflowers bring a smile!
As always Pam, your tables delight, with wonderful and cheery colors, beautiful floral arrangements and delightful china. And they’re all just beckoning me outside for dinner!
Jeanie, you are so sweet! Wish you could join me at a table in the garden!
Pam, Your summer tables are all beautiful! I love all the colors. The hydrangeas and other flowers are all lovely. The first tablecloth reminds me of a beautiful island with the colorful houses on it. The blue and white table was formal enough for a wedding or anniversary celebration. The quilt is gorgeous! They are all exquisite! Enjoyed the roundup! We’ve had so much rain the past 2 months, dining outside is not possible unless you’re under a porch. Clara❤️
Clara, your comments are so sweet. It has rained so much here, weeds are growing so fast and mosquitoes are terrible with all the moisture. When the drought comes I will appreciate the rain, but I do feel for the farmers.
Pam your tables never disappoint. They are all so beautiful. Have a great day. Hugs. Kris
Thank you, Kris!
Summer, the most beautiful word in the English language. Or not. But it comes pretty close. Love all of the tables but my favorite one is the Woodland tablescape and the Bee one because I love bees. Can’t believe the work involved in the formal tablescape.
Thank you, Alice for always reading and commenting. I won’t be hauling out the dining room chairs ever again! Way too much work!
Pam, I’m hard pressed to name a favorite. Every table you share makes me smile. I’m in full summer patriotic mode and you are inspiring me to take a look back at previous patriotic summer tables. I’m looking forward to joining the Summer Tablescape Hop on the 10th and Tea On Tuesday the following week. Thank you for your constant inspiration and friendship!
Currently Austin is experiencing horrific thunderstorms with dangerous winds. Late yesterday winds of 70mph whipped through my neighborhood with torrential downpour. I lost huge branches, but gratefully trees are still standing!
Thank you, Sarah! I love all of your patriotic tables and vignettes! I look forward to the Tablescape Hop and having you join Mary and for Tea on Tuesday! Wow, 70 mph winds are almost hurricane strength. I am so glad you didn’t lose trees. We have had days and days of rain and little sunshine! Take care, my friend!
OH Pam – they’re all so gorgeous, but that blue and white formal made my heart stop!! Absolutely stunning! I can’t wait to dive in. Looking forward to the hop next month – I always love joining you all! Thanks once again for the fabulous inspiration – on the tables and the landscaping!
Barbara, you are so sweet. Thanks so much for visiting today. I look forward to the hop and seeing your table!
Hydrangeas, bees, lemons, zinnias, and peaches…my favorite summer things! Throw in some hummingbirds, and my list is complete. Every table setting is so beautiful, Pam. When I visited my vet’s office this morning, I admired the giant hydrangeas outside her clinic. The blue blooms were as big as basketballs. As I sat in the car, I think I learned the secret. Every single dog paid a “visit”!! We are dreary and raining here again. I need sunshine!
Thank you, Roxanne! I love your list and they are also favorites of mine! You are so funny, dogs paying a visit 😂 We have had so much rain, it looks like a jungle in our garden. Yes, bring on the sunshine!
Hello Pam,
I certainly do enjoy when you share your tablescapes with us. These summer tablescapes are all so stunning. I love them all but if hard-pressed the zinnias table with watermelon is quite colorful and the Woodlands table with your majolica pieces is calling my vintage heart. Lots of beautiful centerpieces!
Thank you for so much inspiration!
Take good care.
Thank you, Nancy. Wishing you lots of lovely days in your summer home!
Oh Pam, each an every table was an inspiration! That was amazing that you hauled out your DR chairs for the one inspiration. Your whole yard and garden is such a gorgeous backdrop for your tables. I love your zinnias! I planted zinnia plants this time, but they got eaten overnight. Last year, I planted seeds and they got eaten while they were growing. I’ll have to enjoy yours. Thank you for all the beauty that you share with us.
Kitty, your comments are so sweet. It seems that zinnias are often the food of rabbits and deer! It is disheartening to plant and it is all eaten by the next morning.
Pam, these are all so beautiful and I found my eyes darting all over the place. The flowers are gorgeous and of course so is the dishware, but the tablecloths are so lovely too and just tie everything together. Your grandmother’s flower garden quilt is stunning but I love the seersucker one too and AC never disappoints. So much wonderful inspiration here and thanks for sharing this beautiful round-up! Have a lovely rest of the week!
Thanks so much, Kim. I am so thankful to have inherited the quilt. I have a quilt from both grandmothers! Looking forward to the tablescape hop and seeing your table!
