Welcome sweet friends! I hope your October is off to a delightful start!
“Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.”
Psalm 119:89-90 (ESV)
The days are still warm in our Appalachian Foothills, but I am anticipating cooler days, leaves changing colors, warming up by the fire pit, and roasting marshmallows with our grands! The nights are now pleasant and the angle of light in the early morning and late afternoon is magical this time of year. Change is in the air!
It is the October edition of Monday Morning Blooms with my friends Mary and Lidy. We are always happy to welcome back Sarah, from Hyacinths for the Soul, as our special guest.
You will find the links for my friends’ beautiful floral and tabletop inspiration at the bottom of this post.
Our common theme is autumn hues and this pitcher perfectly fits that theme. It was a surprise gift from my Renaissance Man a couple of years ago. When I consider autumn hues I think of colors like russet, amber, and scarlet, just to mention a few. What hues come to your mind? Dahlias and sunflowers are from Deep Roots Flower Farm, a 45 minute drive from my house. Zinnias from our garden along with a few from the farm complete the flower arrangement. ‘Tis the season for pumpkins. ‘Tiger Stripe’ pumpkins surround the pitcher!
Without fail the still life pumpkin salad plates make a special appearance on one of my fall tables. They were a part of the Williams Sonoma ‘Harvest Pumpkin Collection’ that is no longer available. This one features figs along with the pumpkin!
An outdoor table set in the garden is ideal in autumn weather!
Amber stemware was purchased long ago from a wonderful department store in our city that is no longer in business. I found so many wonderful tabletop items, dishes, stemware, and lots of Fitz & Floyd! Years later, I still miss McRae’s Department Store.
Normally I place the salad plates on pumpkin-colored dinner plates. I decided to change it up with apple green plates. This works well, especially here, since this striking white pumpkin is featured with apples.
RM was flying his drone when I was photographing the table, and naturally he flew over to check things out. He took several still shots and thankfully there were no crashes. He teases but he has never crashed his drone!
Plaid chargers blend all of the colors together!
Only pumpkins are featured on this plate!
“My beloved October has returned with its brilliant colors, cool temperatures and sunny, cloudless, azure skies, and I must enjoy it before it escapes for another year.”
~Peggy Toney Horton
In case you missed the Sunshine Cottage porch dressed for fall, you can see it here!
There were four different pumpkin salad plates in the Williams Sonoma collection. This plate features pears alongside the pumpkin. I purchased two sets when they were first introduced and I am happy that I did. One salad plate on Replacements is listed for more than the price I paid for all four!
The pumpkin tablecloth has been a part of my linen collection for as long as I can remember. I can’t recall where I found it, but it always makes an appearance during autumn!
Be sure to visit Mary, Lidy, and Sarah. You are in for a treat!

Good morning Pam, I love the overhead drone shot Butch got of your table as well the one with the view with the Sunshine Cottage decorated for fall in the background! All the pumpkin accents and mums are so warm and inviting! Your pitcher makes the perfect vase for a seasonal bouquet of dahlias, sunflowers and zinnias. I love the unexpected pop of green surrounding your WS plates and layered with the plaid chargers. Your amber stemware provides such a pretty golden glow at your table. I don’t recall seeing your pumpkin tablecloth before, it’s a beauty! As always, it’s a treat to share some flower therapy with you on these Mondays. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. 🍂 🍁 🧡
Thank you, Mary! Because I love fall, it is most enjoyable!
Pam, tell Butch he almost stole your thunder with that aerial shot – it’s gorgeous! Of course, the beauty is in the details, and that credit goes to you. The fall bouquet looks especially good in the pitcher (another point for Butch, hehe!). Those pumpkin plates are so richly detailed, a very good reason to bring them out each year. I love the dramatic black background. I think our fall may arrive starting tomorrow in earnest, but you are so right about the mornings and late afternoons with the cool downs and angles of light. They are definitely sure signals of this glorious time of year.
I told Butch what you said and he just smiled. The angles of light are one of my favorite things about fall! I will see you bright and early in the morning!
Pam, I almost feel as if I’m a drone when I sit here at my kitchen counter and view this post. What a lovely setting to start my morning. I love your choice of blooms, and yes, those n hues are definitely favorites in my mind. Autumn is without doubt my favorite season. I think our long summer weather makes me yearn for cooler days that autumn brings our way. Autumn hues have always been my favorites! I smiled when I saw your little topiary of pumpkins in your urn. I will be an immediate copycat on that for sure! I always love visiting your property and the Sunshine Cottage. How fun to have this special spot to decorate and enjoy with the grands. Thanks for inviting me to join today. It’s always a delight and honor.
Thank you Sarah. I agree that the heat of summer makes me yearn for the fall. I do love stacking pumpkins in any container that I can find. I look forward to seeing your table tomorrow!
I do love the colors of fall and you really highlight them so well. I’m especially fond of those blue plates with the green beneath. And of course as always, your table, the colors, flowers, all of it, are splendid!
Thanks so much, Jeanie! Your comments are heart warming!
Beautiful arrangement and tablescape Pam! I love that tablecloth. The apple green plates are perfect with your WS salad plates. Happy Fall! Clara❤️
Thank you, Clara ❤️
Your table is so pretty and the overhead shot is lovely. I love the amber stemware.
Thank you for your sweet comments Lauren!
Pam your table is stunning as usual. You have so many lovely pieces and I love the pitcher Butch got for you. It is so appropriate with the Autumnal colors of pumpkin. The aerial shot is lovely and your pumpkin tablecloth is perfect in your setting of pumpkins ’round the Sunshine Cottage. What a delight that little cottage is (and has been) and yet another of your sweet husbands’ gifts for you. God chose wisely in the two of you. Hugs and Blessings my dear friend. Happy October!
Thank you, Kari! The cottage has been a delight and I am so grateful for all of God’s blessings!
Love all of the tables today, pumpkins galore. Squirrels found mine on the front step and destroyed it. Harvest moon is beautiful so take a look tonight.
We had a lovely view from the patio of the harvest moon tonight! Thank you Alice!
It looks so beautiful! The decorations are so elegant and lovely. It is nice to see what Autumn looks like there in Alabama compared to where I live in Vermont. It is beautiful everywhere! Thank you!
Mrs. White thank you for your kind comments! I know Autumn must be stunning in Vermont!
Pam your table is gorgeous. Love those plates. I loved Alabama when we were down for our girls weekend. Such a nice state and what a difference in people. You all have that southern charm and manners. Loved it. Have a good new week. Hugs. Kris
Thank you, Kris. I am so happy that you loved my home state! I hope we never lose our Southern charm and manners!
Absolutely stunning tablescape.
Thank you Michele for your sweet comment!
Happy October, Pam! Like Mary, I love that overhead drone shot Butch got of your table – what a great view. Your pumpkin accents and mums are so warm, and your beautiful flowers are just perfect in your pitcher. The dahlias, sunflowers and zinnias couldn’t look happier than in that beauty- the colors absolutely stunning together. Oh, I adore that green plate, it makes everything else just pop, doesn’t it?
Your pumpkin tablecloth is so wonderful, the perfect back drop for all your autumnal splendor! As always, it’s such a blessing to share flower therapy with you on our Mondays. xo Lidy
Thank you Lidy! Your comments warm my heart! I love sharing our Monday Morning Blooms!
Gorgeous Pam! It’s all Fall Fabulous- from the beautiful pitcher of flowers, to the loved pumpkin plates, the eye catching brown stemware, and the pumpkins!! Your garden setting is the perfect backdrop of course, especially when it’s all decked out for the season! Love the drone shot!
Thank you Jenna. Your comments are so sweet!
The overhead photo and geometric shapes are so beautiful, what fun! I love the stripes in your gorgeous pitcher and on your pumpkins..again, so fun! Adore those pumpkin plates and your stunning glassware…sigh. The hues I think of for fall usually fall in the russets and ambers too, as well as the yellow of the Aspen leaves and the red shades of the Maples…
We’ll be able to admire the harvest moon tonight, no cloud cover! You and Butch are so much fun. God Bless!
Sue thank you for your lovely comments. It sounds like we both have the same favorite hues! I love the Aspen leaves. We have seen them in Colorado and Wyoming, beautiful! We had cloud cover, but the harvest moon was gorgeous! God bless!
Oh Pam, I just love your gifted pitcher from Bruce! It is the perfect Autumn vessel for your pretty flowers. Those WS cobalt blue salad plates are so stunning, and how fun to have different scenes on each one. I dearly love your tablecloth and also your plaid chargers, and the drone shot…too fun! Thank you for sharing the Autumn beauty with us. 🍁
Thank you, Kitty for your sweet comments. Autumn is my favorite season and I love setting tables with fall in mind!
Pam, such a striking table and that aerial shot steals the show. Love the pitcher with your dahlias, sunflowers and zinnias. Love those WS plates, so beautiful and perfect for this table. Always a pleasure to visit. Looking forward to seeing your fun Halloween table tomorrow.
Thank you, Linda! I look forward to your magical table tomorrow!
Pam, that pitcher full of flowers just says “Fall”. The light in the garden is definitely different now, everything looks so golden. The lime chargers were a brilliant touch. Butch’s drone shot sure gives a completely different perspective. Our high later this week supposed to be 68…I can’t wait!
Thanks Roxanne! I love autumn light especially in the morning and afternoon! We are supposed to have a cool down, I am excited!
What a delightful autumn setting in your gorgeous outdoor space! Your floral arrangement is beautiful in the pretty fall pitcher. I have always admired your William Sonoma fall plates. They are so striking paired with the apple green plates. Dear friend, I hope you enjoy these glorious October days!
Thank you Shannon. I am missing seeing your blog posts. I hope all is well! Happy October sweet friend!
Good Morning Pam,
Your Autumn table is gorgeous. Your vase from Butch filled with dahlias and sunflowers is quite stunning. The pop of green with your dinner plates is a sweet surprise. And all the pumpkin salad plates pair perfectly with the pumpkins all around and your beautiful tablecloth!
The Sunshine Cottage in the background is the perfect setting for your table.

Thank you, Nancy! Family always takes priority! Enjoy, friend!
BEAUTIFUL! Love those plates and the green chargers make them stunning.
Thank you Nancy! The green plates added drama!
You know how I love this!!! I think of the same colors as you! It’s wear the darker colors of brown bring out those burnt oranges and what I call, revolutionary red! They’re so comforting, soothing, …with a fire, even better. I think
You know how much I love the amber stemware…and YOU! Thank you for making each season so beautiful!

Mary thank you. Autumn is my favorite season
A delightful Autumn table setting Pam. 😊
Blessings sweet friend, Jennifer
Thank you, Jennifer!
The drone shot is like a mosaic cross…so lovely, as are the other photos
of your tribute to Autumn table setting. It is sad to lose those specialty
shops that provided items that fed the imagination and quality tableware.
However, I suspect they are not in short supply in your vault of collections.
I tend toward the same Fall hue pallet you do, Pam, but the bright green
plates were a surprising punch and impressive addition….you have the eye.
Thank you Mary! Oh my I have way too much in my vault of collections! The bright green plates definitely were a little different for me! I hope you are having a lovely week, my friend!
Such a delightful time of the year and such a wonderful post to celebrate it! I LOVE the plates. The colors are so poignant, like the items could jump right off the plate. Just beautiful! And I loved the drone shot of your tablescape! I had never noticed the way the grass grows around the stone. That is so pretty! But, the thing that caught my eye, at first, is that the aerial photo makes the table and chairs look like a cross. I am always, always on the lookout for a cross anywhere I can find one. I so enjoy your posts!
Thank you, Cheryl. I also love the drone shot!
