A Sunshine Cottage Vignette With The Magnolia Company

November 1, 2021~ Everyday Living, Faith, Family, Monday Morning Blooms

Happy November dear readers. How swiftly did October come and go, much too soon to say goodbye to my favorite month!

“The month of November makes me feel that life is passing more quickly. In an effort to slow it down, I try to fill the hours more meaningfully.”
-Henry Rollins

Welcome to Monday Morning Blooms! I always look forward to the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month when I join my talented friends to share floral inspiration. I am excited that we are offering a wonderful giveaway. You will find all the details on how to enter near the bottom of this post.

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭

For this edition of Monday Morning Blooms, I am in my happy place, the Sunshine Cottage! I suggest you pour yourself a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and get comfortable. I am cozy and warm as I putter around inside the cottage enjoying my cup of Snickerdoodle coffee.

Lidy, Mary, Shirley, and I are collaborating with The Magnolia Company to offer you a chance to win a fresh and beautiful hand-crafted wreath for the Christmas season.

The Magnolia Company graciously gifted each of us an eighteen inch wreath of our choice. I decided to place mine on the window above the counter in the cottage. The counter offers the opportunity to display a vignette or a table for two, I did both!

When the box arrived on my kitchen porch, I was excited to open my fresh “Colonial Trimmings” wreath. I was most impressed with how carefully it was boxed for protection as it traveled from Florida to Alabama.

“Don’t wait until the fourth Thursday in November, to sit with family and friends to give thanks.
Make every day a day of Thanksgiving.”
-Charmaine J. Ford

The Magnolia Company Farm is located in Central Florida where sunshine and frequent rain showers blanket their groves of Southern Magnolia Trees. These two critical elements coupled with care and attention from their professional tree growing staff provide the foundation for producing beautiful magnolia trees. These trees provide crop after crop of vibrant magnolia leaves to be harvested. Each stem is hand selected for the perfect combination of a deep green, glossy surface and a rich copper, velvet textured back. This rich contrast is the starting point in producing their wonderfully designed wreaths!

The “Colonial Trimmings” wreath is ideal for the autumn season or Christmas. We are still very much in the fall season with Thanksgiving approaching soon, but I will also be using this wreath in my Christmas decor. Fresh Magnolia designs are hand-made with leaves from their family farm. The products dry naturally once hung or displayed, and can last for several years in their dried state with minimal care.

Below the wreath, I placed my trio of velvet pumpkins and a wool plaid one, nesting them on a bed of moss upon a distressed plateau. I have noticed it seems to be all about the pumpkin stems, have you?! I also love the addition of feathers to these handcrafted pumpkins.

English estate boxwood intermingle with fresh magnolia leaves while lotus pods, berries, and faux fruit create a rich medley of accents.

The Magnolia Company’s products have been featured in Southern Living, Southern Lady, Oprah’s O List, HGTV Magazine and other well-known publications. Not only have they been featured in print, but they have graced The White House and The Waldorf Astoria.

The lush wreath that I chose, “Colonial Trimmings”, is featured throughout the interior of the Southern Living Idea House in Nashville, TN, this holiday season. Hanging in their kitchen as a statement piece and around every window in the dining room this magnolia wreath is gorgeous!

A folded plaid throw softens the wood counter and gives a seasonal foundation for a tablesetting for two. The plate stack of rattan chargers, majolica dinner plates, Spode “woodlands” octagonal salad plates, and “always grateful” and “gather together” salad/dessert plates by Mud Pie combine for a fall setting to compliment the Colonial Trimmings wreath!

Sunlight peeked off and on through the window to bring light and shadows to the pumpkins!

Below is the beautiful wreath that Magnolia Company will be giving to one of my readers!

For a chance to win the 18 inch festive Magnolia Elegance Wreath valued at $131.00:

Good Morning Pam, I love your autumnal vignette and table in the Sunshine Cottage! Your wreath is beautiful and ideal to make the transition from fall to Christmas. I love the accents of orange from your napkins, plaid stripe, pumpkin and candle pillars and long admired your velvet and fabric pumpkins with feathers. Your new ‘gather together’ and ‘always grateful’ plates are so sweet too! It’s always a treat to start my Mondays with you, Shirley and Lidy. I hope you had a wonderful birthday dinner and celebration. Happy November. ♥

Beautiful MMB post in your Sunshine Cottage. I love how you styled your velvet pumpkins with several kinds of moss for added color, softness, and texture. The feathers on your pumpkins add a special touch. I agree, the pumpkin stems draw the eye for variety and interest. Love your plateau and plaid throw.

Oh Pam, this is so so pretty! How clever you are to make your holiday wreath blend with your beautiful faux pumpkins to create a fabulous Fall vignette and tablescape! I love the way the wreath has the same colors as your pumpkins and it all comes together to say “here come the holidays!” I just spent considerable time on the Magnolia Company’s website, they have so many incredible wreaths! It is awfully hard to choose one favorite, but I was drawn to the Golden Merlot in the gold collection. I follow you on IG and will sign up to follow Magnolia Co, I can’t wait to get lots of inspiration from them!

Did I do everything necessary to get in line for your choice of a wreath? I did follow you on Instagram and Pinterest. My choice is the plain magnolia wreath because we had a big magnolia tree in our yard. Every year we used that tree to decorate our home and my sweet first cousin would make us and others a magnolia wreath. She is in her heavenly home now and magnolia trees don’t grow in Colorado. . Many thanks for offering this beauty.

In response to the question of which wreath I like best, I seem to be very influenced by each post that is part of this giveaway. I originally thought I could not choose, and then can up with a short list. The Colonial Trimmings was on that list of favorites, and now after seeing how you included in it your home, I am more impressed. OF course, to be honest, I have also been drawn to several others. What fun it is every first and third Monday to see what you and your other three blogging friends share with us. Thank you so much. MM

Since we are a wedding venue, I saw this company at market and fell in love with this line. It is excellence …and of course I recommend their wedding favors to my brides especially. My husband and I spent time earlier this fall in Williamsburg, Yorktown and fell in love with the colonial way of decorating…so I would LOVE to win this beautiful wreath and share it with one of our brides. Much love to you and thank you for the shout out to such a wonderful company. HUGS!!

Hi my friend…Your sunshine cottage is adorned so beautifully as usual. You have such a talent for details and I would love to be able to play house in one like yours someday. However, we live in a city/town with very strict ordinances and they don’t allow separate structures without lots of red tape and plenty of ‘lot space’ and high costing permits and specifications, so I will live vicariously through your lovely cottage. 🙂

I have to agree with most of your followers…My favorite wreath is also Colonial Trimmings. I followed The Magnolia Company on FB and IG. ….and I have followed you on IG and Pinterest for a long time now. 🙂 I hope you had a great birthday, I will be celebrating mine (Praise God) on the 13th of November…your cut off date for this give away. I normally don’t participate in the give aways because I always feel there are others who need it more, but I have always loved the Magnolia Company as I adore the background story and the magnolias! I guess I have considered myself a ‘steel magnolia’ ever since that movie of the same name came out. LOL
Blessings to you and Butch always!

Your setting is so lovely, with the wreath hanging above it. I can imagine you serving lunch or tea for very special (little) guests – how they would love that. It’s always such a blessing to join you on our Monday Morning Blooms, dear friend. xo Lidy

What a lovely wreath you choose. It will transition beautifully from now through Christmas and certainly does go with your Spode Woodland dishes.

Hi Pam, what a wonderful way to start my day by discovering your blog. I loved seeing your Sunshine Cottage and the beautiful way you decorated. So creative the way you mixed the wreath with the pumpkins and other Items used to decorate your tables. I love the mixture of the different pumpkins. Just lovely. All of the wreaths are beautiful at The Magnolia Company. One of my favorites is the Merlot Valley Wreath. I’m following them now on Facebook and of course you on Instagram! Thank you for the opportunity and for providing your readers with such beautiful inspiration.

Such a beautiful wreath you selected, and it will certainly carry you thru this entire holiday season. Living now in Arizona, live mangolias are indeed a rarity! It is difficult to select a favorite, but mine would be the Golden Garden wreath. Thanks to you, and the Magnolia Company, for this opportunity.

Pam, I think all the wreaths are gorgeous on the website but I am partial to the Dr Colonial Trimmings wreath. I already follow you on Pinterest. I now follow Magnolia Wreath. Happy Friday!

Happy Wednesday! I set a table next to our woodlan Happy Wednesday! I set a table next to our woodlands in memory of my beautiful Mother who was a lovely example of a Proverbs 31 woman. Mother had the gift of hospitality and shared it with everyone. Karl Rosenfield peonies from my garden fill a treasured keepsake pitcher handed down from my grandmother! A beautiful floral April Cornell ‘Lillianna’ tablecloth and Famille Rose salad plates elevate the status of the old picnic table next to our woodlands. I have collected bejeweled enamel trinket boxes for many years and shared a few on the table for whimsy and fun. For memories of my Mother, click the link in my profile.

With glorious weather, the table next to our woodl With glorious weather, the table next to our woodlands was perfect for teatime! It is Tea on Tuesdays with blogging friends Mary and Kitty. The table is enhanced by views toward the mountain, woodlands, and the large Snowball Viburnum. The verdant rye grass appears as a green carpet that has been spread for Easter! Vintage Fitz and Floyd ‘Herb Garden’ teapots, sugar and creamer, and oval tray are suited for springtime with their embossed bows, vegetables, and words. A bouquet of Kwanzan Cherry blossoms add more spring color to the setting.

I am serving a simple teatime with Earl Grey tea, savory egg salad filled phyllo cups, and sweet vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese icing, and macarons! A favorite cottage rose tablecloth and Essential napkins are by April Cornell.

We are most blessed to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, being the source of new life, yet new life that is eternal. The beauty of this spring will again give way to another autumn in a few months, but the significance of His empty tomb will never change! Happy Thursday! I love setting a table next to our Happy Thursday! I love setting a table next to our woodlands and this is the first one of the season, an Easter/Spring table! I love all the sweet bunny decorations, but Easter is so much more. We celebrate Easter because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His bodily resurrection enables all those who choose to follow Him to have assured victory over our greatest enemy…death!

I look forward each year when some of my favorite blooms display their amazing beauty in our garden. Snowball viburnum in its full glory with large creamy white blooms. Climbing Lady Banks Rose is covered in hundreds of miniature yellow blooms cascading to the ground. An old-fashioned Bridal Wreath Spirea with its branches arching to the ground in a fountain-like growth habit is loaded with showy double white flowers in clusters of three to six that resemble a bride’s wreath. I still claim the Kwanzan Cherry tree even though it is now on our son’s property. Its ruffled pink double pink blossoms are some of my favorite blooms. All four of these blooms make up an arrangement with a few tulips from the grocery store.

A fluffle of moss bunnies hopped up to the picnic table. A ‘Charming’ tablecloth with Mary Lake-Thompson napkins and Williams Sonoma enchanting ‘Famille Rose’ bunny plates!

I often shared my sweet Daddy and his stories on m I often shared my sweet Daddy and his stories on my blog. My precious Daddy passed away peacefully on March 26th at the age of 94, surrounded by his beloved family! He was born during the depths of the Great Depression. That may have been part of the reason he was always content and loved the simple things.

“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.” Proverbs 22:1

After high school graduation he signed to play professional baseball with the Cleveland Indians Organization. His baseball career was cut short when he was drafted in the army. He was seriously wounded in the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart and two bronze stars. Upon returning home, he married my beautiful Mother and they shared 54 wonderful years together before she passed away suddenly.

My brother and I grew up in a Christian home, bathed in love, calm, security, and contentment, under the care of the two finest parents anyone could have. Daddy was known as Pawpaw to his three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

My heart is broken, he was the best Daddy a girl could have. I know he is present with the Lord and I rejoice in that promise, knowing too, that my Mother is also in the eternal presence of our Heavenly Father.

Welcome to Sunshine Cottage and the March edition Welcome to Sunshine Cottage and the March edition of Tea on Tuesdays. My inspiration for teatime is the beautiful linens from @april.cornell With the celebration of their 50th anniversary, many Heritage Prints from the archives have returned. Eden is one of the beautiful patterns that has returned. It is a soft purple paradise where butterflies float, roses bloom, and soft sage leaves levitate. As an April Cornell Brand Ambassador, I was gifted these gorgeous linens! I have been a collector of @april.cornell linens for many years…the floral patterns resonate with my love of English Country.

I am serving my favorite, Earl Gray tea, from an Eileen’s Reserve teapot. Teacups by Grace Teaware and vintage Rose Chintz salad plates by Johnson Brothers add more floral patterns to the mix. Japanese Magnolia blooms were cut from my garden and placed in a lilypad teapot!

It is Tea on Tuesdays and I have set a tea table with the “Blue Roses” collection that was a collaboration between @victoriamagazine and @april.cornell The exclusive porcelain pattern and matching linens have been used many times and I still enjoy their blue and white beauty. Happy first Monday of February! After so many cold Happy first Monday of February! After so many cold days, we are experiencing a tease of spring with a 73 degree day that is forecast. After the gray and cloudy days, I needed a dose of color and decided to set a colorful citrus themed brunch! Using a bird gold and pewter stand, I mixed a citrus medley of lemons, oranges, and limes with pink and white carnations as the centerpiece. The table is highlighted with blue and white dishware. Fresh squeezed orange juice, French-pressed coffee and sweet treats of lemon poppyseed muffins, lemon cake with lemon icing, and lemon pastries are perfect for a small brunch. A faux lemon topiary belonged to my beloved Mother and seemed a perfect addition to a citrus-themed table! Welcome to Sunshine Cottage where I have been fluf Welcome to Sunshine Cottage where I have been fluffing for Valentine’s Day! For many years my Sweetheart and I have celebrated February 14th at home where it is quiet, no reservations are required, and we always have a table by the window!

I love the traditional colors of red and pink! Frilly carnations fill a vintage Staffordshire, ‘Charlotte’ pitcher which rests on an antique Limoges plate with a velvet gold-crowned heart. The plate stack consists of a Royal Stafford ‘Asiatic pheasant’ dinner plate, American Atelier ‘Baroque’ luncheon/salad plate, Johnson Brothers, ‘Winchester’ salad plate, and a vintage pierced Bavarian rose plate! I am a huge fan of mixing colors, patterns, and textures for a collected look.

The magic of dancing sunlight enhances the table that is dressed with a warm tartan plaid throw repurposed as a tablecloth! ‘Winter Fauna’ bird salad plates from Pottery Barn (many years ago and now discontinued) remind me of the birds I watch from my kitchen window during the winter season. The Grace Teaware set adds more blue and white to the Spode ‘Blue Room’ dinner plates. Sweet treats were placed on a stack of Bordallo Pinheiro plates!
