Merry December sweet friends! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and a restful weekend, or perhaps you were busy decorating for Christmas?!
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 (ESV)
Can you believe Christmas is twenty three days from today?
Step inside the Sunshine Cottage where it is warm and cozy! The twinkling lights from the grandchildren’s tree provide a sweet ambiance.
It is the first Monday of the month and I am sharing Monday Morning Blooms with my talented friends, Mary and Lidy. You will find their links at the bottom of this post.
I have such fun decorating the Sunshine Cottage for Christmas with EM, EK, and WL in mind!
The week of Thanksgiving is not the best time to shop for red and white flowers. Ninety percent of the grocery store flowers were for autumn…the colors of gold and russet! I kept looking and finally found red spray roses, carnations and white alstroemeria. RM cut fresh pine and I added floral picks that I have saved over the years. The picnic table and the pine woodlands provided this backdrop for my simple arrangement in a favorite pitcher!
“If we could condense all the truths of Christmas into only three words, these would be the words: God with us.”
~John MacArthur
A tabletop with memories attached is most meaningful to me. A ‘Winter Holiday Santa’ cookie jar by Fitz and Floyd was a Christmas gift long ago from my Sunday School class. It holds sweet memories of so many precious ladies.
A ‘winter holiday’ mug and dinner plate were paired with a Bordallo salad/dessert plate. The Noritake ‘Reverie’ stemware is almost fifty-two years old (that definitely qualifies as vintage) and was from my wedding registry!
The flower arrangement was placed on a gold cake stand that has a significant memory! It was used for our fiftieth wedding anniversary!
The detail on Santa’s bag of toys is amazing!
As I was rummaging through my Christmas linens, this tablecloth came into view. I had not used it in several years. I love the floral pattern of roses, red berries, pine, and cedar. It is an April Cornell that I found many years ago.
Red and gold bottle brush trees sparkle in the filtered sunlight!
Notice the animals at the base of Santa, some are wearing a necklace of greenery!
“A little child, a shining star,
a stable rude, the door ajar.
Yet in that place, so crude, forlorn,
the Hope of all the world was born.”
~Anonymous

Merry December Pam! I adore your gorgeous Fitz and Floyd Winter Holiday Santa! The older F&F pieces have so much amazing detail that the newer pieces seem to lack and I love all the animals around Santa. You definitely have set the stage for a cozy cottage Christmas with the twinkling lights of your tree, beautiful tableware and your nutcrackers in the background. Your Winter Holiday mug and plate are perfectly paired with the floral design in your tablecloth. I know your grands must be enchanted by all your holiday touches and details! I love your pretty vase and arrangement too. As always, it’s a treat to join you for some flower therapy. Happy Monday 🎄❤️

What a gorgeous arrangement, Pam! And no better time to bring out all the best of memories than at Christmas. The F&F cookie jar is certainly a festive and wonderful piece, but the symbolism of that golden cake stand and the Reverie stemware are by far even better! Your marriage and traditions are interwoven with all the beauty of the mementos through the years. I just love this. Merry December, friend!

Your F&F cookie jar is gorgeous as is your Noritake china. It’s so nice to use vintage pieces as they seem to have more color and detail than the current items which many times are nice, but lack a lot detail are generally monochrome. Your bouquet is beautiful! The Sunshine Cottage is adorned with pretty seasonal pieces. Happy December! Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Clara. I love my vintage stuff and I also love the use of color. It is cold here, hope you all are warm and cozy!

Such a beautiful table…it was winter -y yet cozy at the same time. The cookie jar with all the animal is beautiful, especially with all its memories. I have a large collection of Santas surrounded by animals from friends who know me well! This cold snap certainly helps our Christmas spirit!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Roxanne. I know your collections of Santa’s surrounded by animals are dear to your heart. Yes, winter temperatures have finally come to NE AL! Stay warm today!

Pam, your Monday morning blooms delight. The pretty red carnations and roses mixed with the white alstroemeria are a perfect combo in your white pitcher. I still have fall flowers here, but will soon transition. Your F&F Santa cookie jar is spectacular with his bag full of toys. I always admired the F&F pieces for their exquisite details. I think your linen is the perfect match for the china, and I adore the light kissed cup atop the cabbage ware green. Beautiful photography! I’m just getting started on bringing out some Christmas things. The bare tree is in, but not decorated. I pulled out my velvet wreaths that I hang on guest room doors. I will put them up tomorrow and begin decorating the tree. So much to do, and with a late Thanksgiving, so little time. Thanks as always for inspiring me. Happy Holidays!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Sarah. I missed you on the blog hop today, but sometimes there is so much to do it becomes impossible. I always appreciate your sweet comments!

Hello Dear Pam,
Your Christmas table is so pretty in the dappled sunlight at Sunshine Cottage. Your flower arrangement in the special pitcher is lovely, with Christmas reds, greens, and whites. Having it sit atop the gold cake plate with the red bottle brush trees is stunning. It all sparkles so pretty in the sunlight.
I always enjoy hearing about the memories you share about certain pieces on your tables. The F&F Santa Cookie Jar has such wonderful memories for you. Your Santa is quite remarkable and is adorned with such beautiful details. It makes such a presence on your table!
