Then came the morning…daybreak and twilight offer sights and sounds like no other time and trigger a thousand thoughts. There were so many sunrises to choose from this year that it seems unfair to the others, but this one from February has a story, so it wins the spot. This particular morning the temp was in the 20’s, and in order not to miss the timing, I rushed out in sweat pants and a tee shirt, returning to the house as an icicle 30 minutes later!READ MORE

Tennessee’s Little River, just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, was remarkably peaceful and beautiful last week. We didn’t make the trip but our sweet grands were treated to a few days of camping by Dad and Mom. They returned home just in time to spend a wonderful Thanksgiving with family! Even in a difficult and troubled world there is so much to be grateful for, even though circumstances can make gratefulness hard to find as it can be smothered beneath heartaches!READ MORE

“Fading Fall”. The landscape across the way near our home last week showed evidence that autumn is now settling in across our Appalachian Foothills region.
