Little River Falls is beautiful any time of the year, but autumn is our favorite time to visit. Little River Canyon National Preserve in northeast Alabama is only a short drive for us and the falls is just below a main highway. Whether using the steps or the ramp, accessibility to the viewing platform is an easy walk for all ages and abilities. Little River is said to be the nation’s longest mountaintop river.READ MORE

Pumpkin Carving & Cave Exploring

Happy Thursday sweet friends. Last week was a fun one…pumpkin carving and cave exploring with our sweet grandchildren!! Our “little ones” are helping us to stay young. Just keeping up with them requires running shoes!

Last year was our first time to carve Jack-o’-lanterns with the grandchildren. We allowed them to help as much as possible. I have to make sure my Renaissance Man is especially careful. He sliced his thumb carving a pumpkin for our nephew over 35 years ago that required a trip to the ER and stitches. That was the last one he attempted until October 2021. I wonder what renewed his interest?READ MORE

Hello sweet friends. Leaves are falling and it is time for warm boots as it is predicted to drop below freezing tonight in our Appalachian Foothills. Most often our first frost is toward the end of October, so a little early!
