The {Grandmother} Name Game!

I’ve got baby fever!  Grandbaby, that is!!  Seth and Allison are expecting a baby girl in May and I cannot contain my excitement!  Oh my, I can’t even imagine a little girl!  Finally I get to buy bows, dolls and all things pink!  We started in the nursery this past weekend…stay tuned for photo overload!  Oh my! I can’t wait to rock her, sing to her, read her books, have tea parties, paint her fingernails, shop, and most importantly tell her about Jesus and how much He loves her!  I can’t even write this without tearing up!  Oh what joy!

But I think I have gotten ahead of myself.  With all the excitement and planning, I forgot one important thing… I need a name!  Seth has always called Butch “Da” so that will roll over as his grandfather name.  It has meaning and is just as cute as can be…but I remain nameless!  And I need your help and suggestions!

I want something fun, meaningful, and fitting for me!  Not that there is anything wrong with being called Grandma or Me-Maw, but this skinny jean-wearing grandmother-to-be needs a fun name!

Keeping Up With The Joneses: Savannah Style

Butch and I were in Savannah a couple of weeks ago on business. I spent time shopping, eating, and walking (favorite activities) while he attended meetings. Situated in the historic district, Jones Street has been voted one of the most beautiful in North America by Southern Living, so I spent a couple of hours admiring the beautiful 19th century homes that line the cobblestone street!  Let’s not waste any time, the weather is perfect,  get your comfortable walking shoes on and join me!
Be sure to check out last year’s Strollin’ through Savannah.  Spanish moss drapes the live oaks on Jones Street.

A Year In Our Everyday Living…

pambutch11 Not only is every person on the planet as different as snowflakes, we all experience great differences in everyday living. No two lives the same, no two days exactly alike. “Everyday Living“ is the title of a song written in the early 90’s. The lyrics came from simple observances and knowledge of a few things going on in daily lives of friends and acquaintances.  Of the millions of daily experiences, you can only pick a few to write about in a 3 or 4 minute song. One unique thing about this inexhaustible list of life’s events is that there is One who understands, relates to, and is completely aware of each of them. Life by life, year by year, month by month, day by day, and moment by moment.

The expected and the unexpected; all a part of everyday living. We hope to share some of our everyday living, past and present, as we continue this journey.

What you’ve just read and seen above is actually our first post from one year ago. A very “catchy” commercial centers on the fact that life comes at you fast, and truly it does. If God allows, we’d love to continue sharing bits and pieces of our everyday living and we pray you are blessed in yours.
