In times past the cross was used for torture, suffering, and an agonizing death. But Jesus, because of His resurrection, forever changed how we think of a cross. In a photo, a painting, on a necklace, displayed on a shelf or standing on a hill,  the cross  serves as a promise of abundant life and eternal life made available by Jesus to all who choose to believe!

It is “wisteria time” in our part of the south and this prompted us to venture back to one of our favorites from April, 2016!READ MORE

Hello sweet friends. Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of April and that a quarter of 2021 has already passed us by?

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

I am so grateful that we will have some of our family around our table for Easter! I am still working on the menu, but it will probably be most of our traditional dishes. Of course, setting a pretty table is a must. Just in case you need some inspiration, I have gathered some past tablescapes for you!

Wishing you a blessed Palm Sunday

In a week when most sunrises hid behind clouds, the moon popped in and gave us a nice rising with an unusual hazy ring hanging around!
 

Most of today’s post involves “new beginnings” as spring is starting to take off. We are thankful that our local deer were thoughtful enough to leave a couple of stems of the saucer magnolia (tulip tree if you prefer) untouched which surprisingly allowed us to have 2 blooms, and the promise of a few leaves…unless they drop back by for dessert.  READ MORE
