Happy Thursday dear readers. A couple of years ago I started following a fabulous account on Instagram, Floret Farm, a family run-flower farm and seed company founded by Erin Benzakein. In 2001, she and her husband, along with their two young children left the hustle of Seattle city life and moved to a small farm in Washington’s Skagit Valley to pursue a simpler life. Shortly after arriving, a generous neighbor brought over his tractor to till a plot of ground where she could finally have the garden of her dreams. So, began their journey…

Old Edwards Inn And Spa – Anniversary Getaway

Happy Tuesday sweet friends! We have returned from a wonderful four day anniversary getaway to Highlands, NC. On Simple + Southern Sunday, we shared lovely snowy scenery. My Renaissance Man works so hard and has yet to retire, I am not sure he ever will. I have to whisk him away somewhere where he can’t ride a tractor or a lawn mower in order for him to rest. I loved this quote in a little OE’s guide that was in our suite.

The historic Relais & Chateaux inn is situated in the heart of the charming town of Highlands. With its European style, it offers a mountain retreat with luxury accommodations!

We left home early Thursday morning for the 4 1/2 -5 hour drive to Highlands. Snow was in the forecast so we allowed plenty of time for the drive. It poured rain all morning until it changed over to snow as we gained altitude. For this Southern girl who doesn’t get to see much snow, it was magical!
