Hello sweet friends and happy Tuesday. Have you adjusted to the time change? It takes a few days for my internal clock to change to daylight savings time. Hopefully we are back to more normal temperatures after three nights that fell way below freezing. The cold zapped our Japanese magnolia and I am unsure if the snowball viburnums were affected!

This past Saturday was sunny, but very cold and windy. It was too cold for any gardening chores. However it was a perfect day to begin adding “spring” to the Sunshine Cottage and setting a table!

We concluded our week with what will likely be our only snow event for the winter of ’21-’22. The picnic table in the foreground accumulated about 1/2 inch but it was mostly a dusting. It’s kinda pretty because we don’t see it often, however January would’ve seemed more appropriate. I know, some of you are finding it laughable that I called this a “snow event”!
A lot of muddy water from a couple of rain events last week but still a nice reflection. Today I have chosen to highlight what’s blooming in early March around northeast Alabama. The main reason… yesterday was possibly our coldest day of the winter season, and with temps in the teens this morning, the colors we are enjoying may disappear for a few days.
