The Sunflower Celebration

Happy Thursday sweet friends! I hope everyone’s week is going well. I have been busy, but I don’t have much to show for it. Does that ever happen to you? Someone please say that it does!

Since 2015 we have planted sunflowers every year. In my opinion, they are so cheerful and they just make me smile. I can’t let the sunflower season pass without celebrating summer’s happiest flower! I hope these photos will bring a smile to your face.

Our sunflowers are planted in two different raised beds, one behind the garden fence and one next to our driveway. Seeds were ordered in late winter and I am very pleased with the three varieties that we planted.READ MORE

Our garden is buzzing with our chosen theme…BEES!

Bees are here because of the flowers. Flowers are here because of the bees.

Pardon me for sounding like a broken record, but we continue to have so much rain. I know many of you wish I could send some of it your way. You can imagine my excitement when we had a day last week that was sunny! I knew it might be my only chance to set a table in the garden. After all, the garden is the perfect place to celebrate our pollinator friends, the bees!

When you slide your mouse hurriedly across the screen in a mad rush to get something completed for a blog post, it is a good idea to remember 2 things…don’t pass over the block labeled “Publish” and don’t do so with too much pressure on the track pad. The result can be publishing your material before you are finished and before your final edits. When this happens your Sunday post may become a Saturday Post!


One reason to be slightly distracted and in a bit of a hurry yesterday can be seen here. I had other things pressing that needed my attention and this was just one of several blogging breaks we took! So, I think it will be alright, especially since the post was about 90% complete.
