A Sunshine Cottage Christmas

Merry, merry Thursday sweet friends! I am so excited to welcome you to A Sunshine Cottage Christmas!

When you open the cottage door, it may look like Christmas has exploded. As many of you readers know, I am a long-time collector…Byers Carolers, nutcrackers, Fitz and Floyd, nativities, Radko ornaments, and so much more. My most precious keepsakes are those made by the loving hands of my Mother. The cottage was decorated with my darling granddaughters in mind. My goal was to see their eyes wide open with surprise and to make lasting memories.

Christmas carols are playing and the door is open, come on in!

It’s That time Of Year

Happy Monday sweet friends. Christmas is fast approaching and I still have much to do. How about you? I am putting some finishing touches on Sunshine Cottage in hopes that I can share on Thursday. There is still shopping to be done and goodies to be baked. I will be baking fruitcakes this week for my precious Daddy, sister-in-love, and myself. We are the only three people that I know that love fruitcake!! Christmas wouldn’t seem like Christmas without Pam’s fruitcake, says my very wise Daddy!

I enjoy keeping a table set during the holidays. Changing it often, guarantees I can see all of the Christmas dishware that I have collected through the years.

A peaceful sunrise and a calm morning welcomes December!

Many of you have never heard of Alfred Hitchcock or the 1963 film, “The Birds”. In the horror movie, groups of birds randomly attacked people. I paused momentarily here and wondered what it would feel like if all these decided to converge on me at once. I read that a trainer actually trained large groups of birds in order to capture some scenes! Thankfully, my group of  birds had only bedding down for the night on their minds.
