An Easter Picnic

Hello my dear readers. I am so thrilled that you are here and I hope everyone is well. My prayer today is that the time we spend together will give you a brief respite from these challenging days and the anxieties we often face. I am joining twenty five creative table stylists for an Easter Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe from Celebrate & Decorate. I have set up an Easter picnic to enjoy the great outdoors and a virtual seat has been saved just for you.

I grew up on a street where houses were very close together, but I have loved our country living for these forty-one years. During this time of self isolation, the outdoors have provided a peaceful calm. It seems that spring has been more beautiful. Perhaps, since life has been slower, I have taken more time to enjoy every new bud and bloom. This spot next to a wooded area is a perfect place for an Easter picnic!

Rabbits have hopped onto the picnic table. We have several bunnies that are frequent visitors to our picnic area, but so far no “real” rabbits have been able to hop quite high enough to be part of this scene! A Fitz and Floyd bunny appears to have found a treat!

Hello dear readers. I hope that all of you are staying healthy. Everyday living feels so strange and surreal. I have trouble keeping up with what day of the week it is, much less what day of the month. I think when this virus crisis has passed, we will have a new appreciation for our day-to-day normal life. Hopefully, we will have learned to count our blessings and not take anything for granted. My prayer is that we will turn our hearts to the Heavenly Father who holds all things in His hands.

In “normal” times I might shop around and come home with an assortment of fresh flowers, however…a view of the dining room table doesn’t show a bouquet of fresh flowers, but an arrangement of dried hydrangeas. (I should have azaleas and snowball viburnum that I can cut in a few days.) In the meantime, I love the dried hydrangeas from my friend who owns a hydrangea farm. They provide a little cheer as I pass by many times a day.

Recently, I was honored to speak at the Gadsden Antiquarian Society. This lovely lady invited me and it was a pleasure to finally meet her. Kelly is as sweet as she is lovely. Several years ago I had the privilege of hearing my favorite interior designer, the late Charles Faudree, speak at the Gadsden Antiquarian Society. Being there once again brought back fond memories of Mr. Faudree autographing my copy of his first published book and taking time to chat with me.READ MORE

7 Spring Tablescapes

Hello sweet friends. Spring is fast approaching and it is earlier than it has been in over a century. I never try to rush the seasons, but I must say I am looking forward to springtime! In anticipation of the new season, I am revisiting some spring tablescapes to give you inspiration for setting your own tables!
