Happy Thursday! Is it raining in your neck of the woods? It seems that we are in the monsoon season. Rain, rain, and more rain! We are currently under a flood watch through Friday. I can’t remember a January and February that had this much rain. On the bright side, it gives plenty of opportunity to stay indoors and catch up on a favorite hobby…reading! For the past couple of years I have been reading book after book of historical fiction…I finish one, and begin another. I decided this year to keep a list of all the books that I read. If only I had done that since my passion for reading began in the fifth grade. I could talk about books forever, but that isn’t what today’s post is about. With my Monday Morning Blooms sitting on the dining room table, I decided to set a tablescape. As I was putting the post together, it occurred to me that I had used fruit and flowers on several previous tablescapes. It is so easy to incorporate the two, they just seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly!

  With the floral arrangement in place, it was so simple to add six place settings!

Warm Tuesday greetings dear friends…and Happy Valentines week!  I hope you all take the time to tell those you love just how much they mean to you! I had nothing in mind for this weeks Tablescape Tuesday…until I spotted some gorgeous pink tulips at the grocery store!  I wasn’t really sure how I was going to arrange them, until I remembered my friend Bonnie’s post on her stunning camellias that she grows. They are breathtaking!  I only have one camellia bush that has pretty red booms, but I also have four salad plates that showcase four varieties of camellias! So I pulled them out and the next thing I knew, I had a pink and green tablescape all set for you!

I love the ease of a bouquet of tulips, no arranging because they have a mind of their own…

…they are a beautiful stand alone flower…

The Softer Side Of Valentine’s

Happy Tuesday sweet friends! I am glad that you are here today! Everywhere you look, you can see pink, red, and all things Valentines!  Have you made your plans for the holiday of love? Our tradition is to eat at home to avoid the crowds…it makes for a nice little romantic evening, just the two of us!

Typically on Valentine’s Day our table is set for two, but today you are invited to join our softer side of Valentine’s table set for six! If you have been following Everyday Living for a while, you will notice this tablescape is quite different for me. I always use lots of red for Valentine’s Day, but I used softer colors with pops of red for a little drama.

The centerpiece is also different than what I normally would do. I filled a dough bowl with moss and added blush and white hydrangeas and the petite red velvet heart made by Hot Skwash. I love its tiny golden crown!
