Tablescape Tuesday: A Box O’ Hydrangeas

Last Saturday evening, we had our long-time friends over for dinner…and if you know me, you know that I wanted to treat them alfresco style! But unfortunately, as soon as I set the table, the clouds started rolling in.  So we took it to the dining room to enjoy an evening of good food and many laughs!  Although I was a little disapppointed not to be on the patio, there is one good thing about it: we didn’t have to fight the pesky mosquitoes or the summer heat in the dining room!

But before we take a look at today’s tablescape, I wanted to remind you all about our Gardens Galore Link up!

 Next Monday, June 12, come back around 8am (central time) to party with us in the garden!  You can link your personal garden, a garden you’ve visited, pretty flowers you’ve photographed, potted flowers around your home, your vegetable garden…anything that has to do with gardening!  It can be a recent post or a post from years ago…there really are no rules!  The only rule is that you have fun! Tablescape Tuesday: Peonies & Chintz

If you’ve been around our little corner of the blog world for long, you know that we love to make trips to Birmingham to eat at our favorite Italian cafe.  Last Friday was a beautiful evening for dining alfresco, so we drove the 60 miles for a nice little evening out!  Of course, a trip to the “big city” always means a stop at Whole Foods…and I am always pulled towards their great selection of fresh flowers!  When I walked in, it didn’t take long before I heard some beautiful white peonies calling my name!  They had to make an appearance on this week’s table in the garden!  Late Saturday afternoon became cloudy and breezy…the perfect set up for tablescaping in my favorite spot!  My vintage Johnson Bros “rose chintz” salad plates paired with these gorgeous white flowers are all it took for this classic table setting!  Join us for dinner in the garden…today’s tablescape is brought to you by peonies and chintz!

Red, White & Blue Alfresco Tablescape

The unofficial start to summer is here!  Whether you are boating, grilling, swimming, or working in the yard (like we will be this weekend), I hope you have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day!  Since Mary Poppins took over Tablescape Tuesday this week, I didn’t do an actual Memorial Day tablescape…this one is from the archives!  So let’s head out to the garden…where we are greeted by the red, white and blue!

I hope y’all don’t get tired of tablescapes in the garden, I can’t seem to stay inside!
