Spring Tablescape Blog Hop: Spring, Sweet Spring

Can you believe it, friends?! It’s the first day of a new season…so let me be the first to wish you a happy spring!  If this is your first time here at Everyday Living, we are so glad you found us…and if you’re a regular reader, I always enjoy you being here!  When this time of year rolls around, I am reminded of the sweet smells of honeysuckle and wisteria that fill the air and the colors that bloom all over are a bright spot in my day!  Here in the Appalachian foothills, we got a jump start with daffodils blooming in February, and it got me thinking all things spring early!  So, with that being said and in the spirit of ushering in spring, I am joining twenty-five other bloggers to bring you a week full of tablescapes!  Our wonderful host, the lovely Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate, has organized this week long party that is sure to start off the season right!  Pull up a seat and let’s all enjoy spring, sweet spring!

Spring “Cleaning”

It’s that time of year…a lot of us have kicked it in to high gear cleaning out closets, wiping down baseboards, and organizing our pantry.  It’s a good time to free up drawer space and donate those gently used items to charity. What is it about spring that makes us want to clean?  It means cleaning windows and moldings, and an overall organizing of our home.

I come across as a very organized person because I wear a lot of different hats, but the truth is that I just fly by the seat of my pants!  And most of you bloggers will understand when I say there’s a time to clean up our devices…and for me, that means filtering through the thousands of pictures on my iPad. Yes, I said thousands!  I am that girl that has ten photos of the same shot and can’t find it in me to send any to the trash!  I began working on this little spring cleaning project on Tuesday and I am happy to report I have cleaned out over 1500 photos (can I get a pat on the back?!).  As I have taken the time to do that, of course, you re-live so many sweet memories that pictures bring back to you.  I thought in keeping it real on the blog, it might be fun to share a few with you that I kept…and the story behind them!

Tablescape Tuesday: It Never Occurred To Me

Hello sweet friends, I hope you’re all having a wonderful day!  It’s Tuesday and you know what that means here at Everyday Living…a tablescape!  Today, you’ll be seeing something that’s not new to my house, but they’ve never made their appearance on a Tablescape Tuesday…until now!  I think we grow accustomed to the things in our home…pictures, books and “knick-knacks” that have their little spot.  We don’t really pay much attention to them because they’re just in their normal spot!  Do you ever have a moment when you look at something and think “wow, how have I missed this?”  Last week I was contemplating what I would bring to the table today (no pun intended!), and how I could make it look a little different.  As I was walking through my family room as I do numerous times a day, I happened to notice plates that have been on the wall forever…and it hit me…I had never used them in a tablesetting!  I was so excited, you would’ve thought I had discovered something new.  So, off the wall they came, and onto the table they went…after a good sudsy wash of course!  It never occurred to me until now to use these beautiful plates, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

 I think of this setting as a little casual…a little elegant!
