Hello dear friends. Thank you for all the sweet and comforting messages and emails that you sent to us on the passing of our daughter-in-love’s precious Daddy and our granddaughters’ Popsie. Each one meant so much to us.

Tomorrow we will celebrate Thanksgiving with fewer around our table than ever before. The cooking has begun with all of our traditional dishes being prepared. My Thanksgiving table is set and ready for the big meal!

Usually Christmas decorating begins the day after Thanksgiving at our house. However, the Sunshine Cottage is almost finished and a tree may appear in the dining room by Thursday. Today you might need a little ten minute break from cooking or decorating. So, I have gone through the archives and chosen six Christmas tablescapes for you to peruse and hopefully get ideas and inspiration. Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday because it redirects our focus from daily clutter, daily challenges, daily distractions, and daily busy-ness…to remembering that everyday living, Jesus understands. And, that is a fact I am truly grateful for!

Hello sweet friends. It is Wednesday evening as I am writing this while the states of Louisiana and Texas are bracing for a catastrophic hurricane. I am praying for all those who are in harm’s way. I hope you will join me in praying not only for those impacted by the hurricane, but also for those affected by the wildfires in California. I pray for our nation!

It is my desire to enjoy every moment, every day, and every season, whether the seasons of life or the seasons of nature. I have to admit by the end of August I begin to look forward to autumn. Our summers in the South can be extremely hot and humid. With that in mind, I thought it was the perfect time to revisit some of my favorite autumn tablescapes!
