Happy Tuesday sweet friends!  Can you believe that Valentine’s Day is a couple of weeks away?  I feel like we just celebrated the new year!  I have always loved Valentines Day…I love the romance and love that the 14th day of February brings out in all of us.  And it’s not just a holiday set aside for you and your significant other, but it can be a lovely day for you and your girlfriends, spending time with a widow, or anyone who could be lonely this time of year!  

On Saturday, Butch ran a few errands and brought home a dozen roses, just because! He got these particular roses because of their unique color…an orange-red .  When I saw them, I knew they would make their way to a tablescape and the idea popped into my mind…”a Paris theme”! Because after all, it is one of my favorite cities, and it’s the time of year for those X’s and O’s!  Pull up a chair and join us!

Butch and I have been to Paris twice…once in 2003 and again in 2006.  I took this picture of the Eiffel Tower while on a dinner cruise on the Seine.  The meal was fabulous and the scenery was the absolute best!  Strolling violinists stopped by our table to serenade us, isn’t that romantic?!READ MORE

Tablescape Tuesday: Fruit Rapture

Happy Tuesday dear friends…and I am sure some of you are scratching your head, wondering what on earth a fruit rapture is!  It’s not what it sounds like, but we will get to that in a minute.  We had a beautiful weekend after single digit temperatures and a negative wind chill last week.  You know you live in Alabama when you can go from 9 degrees to 70 in the span of 4 days!  With sunshine and warmer temps, I was ready to set the table with my everyday china for Saturday brunch…which brings me to the explanation of the title…it’s the name of the china you will be seeing today!  Pull out a chair and join me for Fruit Rapture!

Tablescape Tuesday: Birds Of A Feather

Brrrr…it’s cold here in the Appalachian Foothills! Happy Tuesday dear friends…I hope all of you are staying warm and cozy!  Today is definitely a wintry day…and according to our weatherman extraordinaire, we should see some snow!  I know some of you see it daily and probably get tired of it, but here in Alabama it’s a big deal.  Schools shut down, workplaces close, and everyone rushes to buy milk and bread.  I’ve always wondered why milk and bread are the two items of choice, but I guess nothing beats a milk sandwich when you’re snowed in?!  During these cold winter months, I enjoy bird watching out my windows.  Occasionally I will see the bright plumage of the male cardinal against the bare landscape…a beautiful sight!  We enjoy feeding our little feathered friends when they come for a visit!  Since it’s so cold out, I thought we could do a little bird watching and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate today at the table!  Pull up a seat and join me for Birds Of A Feather!
