Hello sweet friends…and today we will be taking it to Broadway! Yes, you read that right…we are going to the city that never sleeps!  I am excited to be joining a group of talented bloggers for a Broadway Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate!  Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom for the full line up!


Broadway merges my love for music and travel…and for that reason, Broadway has many memories attached for me!  In the autumn of 1998, we were beyond excited to be flying to New York City, our first time in the Big Apple together.  We had planned all of the typical tourist attractions…the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park…all of those places that are a must!  But the one thing I was especially anticipating was taking in a Broadway show!  We did a little research and selected the one we most wanted to see…and wow,  what an evening it was!  As we entered the Imperial Theater and took our seats for the performance of Les Miserables, I was blown away.  When the first notes of the orchestra sounded, we were swept away to the pure pleasure of musical theater!  Since that magical night, we have seen many Broadway shows…and we have even been to London’s West End to see the popular Mamma Mia!  When we returned to NYC in 2007, we decided it might be fun to see the world’s most magically popular nanny, the one and only Mary Poppins!


Of course, we had seen the movie as children and knew all the songs by memory, but this brought it to life!   It is such an entertaining show for all ages.  So with that said, I hope you all enjoy my Broadway table and have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time!  Join me under the umbrella!

Tablescape Tuesday: The Sweet Smell Of Magnolia

Hello sweet friends, the weather has been perfect and I had the most beautiful weekend!  We celebrated our sweet Ella Mae’s first birthday on Saturday morning with a delicious brunch, birthday cake, fun presents, and lots of laughter.  She definitely kept us entertained!  Mother’s Day couldn’t have been more perfect…we had our family for late lunch and had the best time!  Butch planned and orchestrated it all…what a sweet man he is! We had his famous grilled burgers, baked beans, broccoli salad, and a yummy Oreo pie!  And yes, I had to contribute…I made my very favorite cake – hummingbird!  It was a special day for many reasons, and we were thrilled to have the newest member of our family, two week-old Gideon with us. My niece, Hannah and her husband, Ryan are the new proud parents! What a gift he is!

I am sure you think today’s tablescape was used for Sunday’s lunch…but no, it wasn’t. Actually, Sunday was a first…shhh, please don’t tell!  We used paper products! Now I must explain, since it was Mother’s Day, I let Butch take control of everything…and he wanted me to enjoy our family, just relax and not worry with clean-up.  Guess what?  I survived and no one but me was bothered…and a good time was had by all!  

So this week’s tablescape was just fun for me to create!  Since spring is here and all is blooming, I thought we could all enjoy the sweet smell of magnolia blooming here at our house!

Tablescape Tuesday: Simply In The Garden

Sweet friends, thank you so much for checking on me last week…I took a blogging break…the first once since I began almost three years ago.  Don’t we all need a time of rest and refreshment and to quiet the noise?  Butch and I took a short vacation and I can’t wait to share it with you next week!

You all I know I love alfesco dining…especially in our little garden! The temps have been  perfect the past few days…and coupled with a gentle breeze that kept mosquitoes at bay!   Don’t we all love that?  This week’s setting is very simple and would be a sweet Mother’s Day table.  My Mother would have loved it…and oh how I wish she was still with us so I could prepare her a special meal! Please pull up a chair and join us today!
