Tablescape Tuesday: Happy Daffodils

Hello sweet friends…wishing you a joy-filled day!  Anyone else a morning person?  I love to take time before the hustle and bustle of the day begins to sit quietly, read scripture, pray, and of course…enjoy my coffee!  All of those things combined with a good breakfast make for a great jump start!  For the past 21 days, our breakfasts have been Whole30 compliant, but we are not complaining….we are beginning to notice the health benefits! I am excited to share those with you in a later post! Our mornings usually begin at the island, and that’s where we are for this week’s Tablescape Tuesday!  Nothing welcomes a day like pretty flowers and I just had to share our happy daffodils that are gracing our kitchen.  They are popping up everywhere in our Appalachian Foothills…after all, they are one of the first signs of spring!

 

It is so easy to set the kitchen island for breakfast…the old wood charcuterie board provides warmth to the granite counter top.

Tablescape Tuesday: Black Tie & Red Roses

Happy Valentine’s Day, sweet friends, wishing you a day filled with lots of love and laughter!  Do you have plans with your sweetheart tonight?  I have been a little under the weather due to an outpatient surgery last week, but don’t worry, I have been well taken care of! My sweet hubby brought home an orchid on Thursday, roses on Friday, and tulips on Sunday…he is definitely a keeper!  Our sweet Katy has prepared Whole 30 meals and delivered them to us and they were so delicious…and guess what else she brought?  A beautiful orchid!  A girl can never have too many flowers, right?  I have felt very loved!

Like I said, I have been showered with lots of flowers, so deciding on a centerpiece was quite easy.  Although at first glance, it looks like one set for February 14th, today’s setting can be an anytime table…Valentine’s Day, Sunday dinner, or an evening with friends. Pull out a chair and join us for an evening of Black Tie and Red Roses…no formal attire necessary, the dress is casual at our house…we love our tees and jeans!

Tablescape Tuesday: Love One Another

Valentine’s Day is a week away…I hope you are getting your plans in place!  We have celebrated this special day much the same over many years…a quiet and romantic evening at home complete with a nice dinner and of course a pretty table for two!  

 I know we first think of our husbands or significant other on this holiday of love, but have you ever thought of inviting others to share in that special day?  Perhaps a couple that might need encouragement in their marriage or friends that are single and have no significant other?  Or maybe even the way our friends, Charles and Kathy did for years…they invited all the widows from our church to their home for Valentine’s dinner.  That simple invitation to dinner or even a sweet Valentine card could be exactly what makes a potentially difficult day one of joy for someone! With this in mind, I have set a table for four this week!
