Tablescape Tuesday: Bright Spot In My Day

I love tablescaping in the garden for so many reasons, mainly because it is so easy compared to one inside! The backdrop of God’s creation provides so much to see and enjoy…the table becomes secondary!  After a couple of showers Saturday afternoon, the rain stopped and I took advantage of the clouds to have a little fun setting this impromptu table!  The humidity was high, but I survived and wilted only briefly!  I guess you can say it was the bright spot in my day! I hope it is for you, too!


This setting does not take itself too serious, it is just a fun table for four!


I cut the flowers for the centerpiece while setting the table…no arranging, just how they landed in the chartreuse vase!

Tablescape Tuesday: Table For One

Once again I am outdoors for Tablescape Tuesday…but today is a little different!  I am enjoying a quiet late afternoon lunch in the garden…alone!  Warm tomatoes just plucked from the vine…sweet iced tea…and much loved books make for my peaceful little party for myself! You are welcome to join me, there are two seats…one for me and one for you!


I was so excited when I saw this cute bistro set at Tuesday Morning a few weeks ago.  I walked away without buying it, but I told Butch about it.  Being the amazing husband he is, he went by a few days later and brought it home in his truck!  He is simply the best!


I clipped Rose of Sharon blooms for the vintage Fenton vase!


The menu was simple and summery…a fresh home-grown tomato sandwich and sweet, juicy cantaloupe!

Summer Tablescape: Stars & Stripes

It’s time to fire up the grill and find your spot for the annual fireworks show…I can hardly believe that July 4 is next week!  It seems like we just welcomed summer with Memorial Day!  The red, white, and blue are flying high everywhere you look…and to me, they’re not only the colors of our great nation, but the colors of summer!

I don’t think I will be hosting a July 4 get-together this year, but I still wanted to set a table, so on Saturday evening when the scorching heat finally simmered down a little, I took to the patio.  As I started putting everything in place, I noticed it was getting dark and looking like rain.  Now, if you’re a blogger, you know that on a normal day, rain would not be welcome during an outdoor tablescape shoot.  But I would have gladly packed up and gone back inside if it meant relief from the 90-100 degree weather we have been having lately!  But to my dismay, the rain held off!  Pull up a seat and grab a glass of raspberry tea and join me at our summer table full of stars and stripes!


I love pulling out the Schwinn 3-wheel bicycle and parking it in the garden to add a little seasonal decor!
