Tablescape Tuesday: Simple and Spring-y!

Easter is one of our favorite holidays…but it sure is a busy one!  We spent the morning with our faith family at church, and the afternoon/evening at our house with family…such a wonderful day celebrating our risen Lord!!  We had the full spread…dressing made from my Mother’s recipe, baked ham, green beans, deviled eggs, potato salad, and we topped off the evening with a lemon cheesecake…that will be making an appearance on the blog really soon!  It was a hit!  It was a big weekend, so when Monday rolled around, I decided to go simple and spring-y on our tablescape for four this week!

I love to mix greens and pinks for a springtime feel!

Tablescape “Monday”: New Life

As we enter Holy Week, we are faced with two events that changed all of history…the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our thoughts and attention are focused on his brutal death on Good Friday, and shifted over to the one thing that gives us life…the resurrection of Jesus Christ, where sin is forever defeated!  It seems as though creation rejoices with us as we look around to see the Bradford Pear trees exploding with white blooms, the forsythia’s golden stems of sunshine, and the daffodil’s happy faces!  As these things bring forth beauty and new life to our earth, may the new life we have been given in Christ be pleasing as we offer ourselves back to Him!


I love the bright sunny color of the forsythia and wanted to use it on a tablescape before the blooms were gone!

Tablescape Tuesday: An “Egg-stra” Special Birthday!

Sometimes life just gets crazy!  With all the busyness of work schedules and a baby shower, we had to postpone a birthday celebration!  And if you’ve been a follower of the blog for very long, you know we love to celebrate birthdays in our family!  Last Friday evening, we were finally able to celebrate our chosen daughter, Katy!  With Easter coming soon, I set an Easter tablescape with lots of beautiful spring color!  We enjoyed many laughs along with some of Katy’s favorite foods!  For dessert, we had everyone’s favorite…red velvet cake!  What better way to celebrate than combining one of our favorite Christian holidays with an “egg-stra” special birthday!
