Last Monday was typical with my usual lunch visit to the gym for a workout. Monday can be a hard gym day if for no other reason than the weekend is over and we are back at it! I usually have a conversation with a guy who is a gym regular (I’ll call him Bob) and we often discuss getting the Monday workout behind us. This week was no exception as Bob and I talked it over. As he was leaving, Bob made a remark that went something like, “you know the good thing about Monday is that it’s only four days ’til Friday”. Only gym talk but this simple chit-chat brought some additional thoughts to my mind.READ MORE
Walking Where Jesus Walked
Having an opportunity to spend some time in Israel a few years ago almost seems like a dream. What a tremendous privilege and blessing. Visiting places where God chose to take on human form, live, walk, work, minister, die, and rise from the dead is overwhelming and beyond adequate description! It is our prayer that you enjoy a quick journey with us as we visit some very special places in the Holy Land during this Holy Week.
The Jordan River rises on the slopes of Mount Hermon, on the Syrian-Lebanese border, flows through northern Israel to the Sea of Galilee and empties into The Dead Sea! As you can see, this photo was taken in a tourist spot where people can be baptized in the Jordan!
“Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John,
to be baptized by him”
(Matthew 3:13)
Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River and Christians from all over the world come here to be baptized! Butch and I both had planned to be re-baptized, but when I saw the fish and river rats, I reneged!!READ MORE
Tablescape Tuesday: An “Egg-stra” Special Birthday!
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Sometimes life just gets crazy! With all the busyness of work schedules and a baby shower, we had to postpone a birthday celebration! And if you’ve been a follower of the blog for very long, you know we love to celebrate birthdays in our family! Last Friday evening, we were finally able to celebrate our chosen daughter, Katy! With Easter coming soon, I set an Easter tablescape with lots of beautiful spring color! We enjoyed many laughs along with some of Katy’s favorite foods! For dessert, we had everyone’s favorite…red velvet cake! What better way to celebrate than combining one of our favorite Christian holidays with an “egg-stra” special birthday!
I love the colors of an Easter table setting!
