Happy Thursday dear friends.  Many of you might say winter is your least favorite season.  I actually love all four seasons that we experience in our Appalachian Foothills of NE Alabama.  January is the perfect month to plan ahead and also look back. Since it wasn’t possible for me to join my Monday Morning Blooms’ friends Shirley, Mary, and Lidy this week (in case you missed their florals click their highlighted name), I thought it a great idea to look back over some of last year’s floral centerpieces. I have assembled many of my favorites all into this one post…flower therapy for a winter’s day. I have never claimed to be a floral designer nor have I ever taken a floral design class, but I sure enjoy the creative process. Let’s take a look at 18 floral centerpieces that take in all four seasons!

Oranges are my favorite winter fruit. Pink “sweet unique” and white “Eskimo” hybrid tea roses combine with halo oranges for a wintertime centerpiece placed in a soup tureen!

Winter rye grass provided the perfect background for St. Paddy’s Day in the country! Not one but two arrangements, both including the appropriate Bells of Ireland, were placed on the picnic table. READ MORE

Hello dear friends! Welcome to a new year of Monday Morning Blooms with my blogging friends Shirley, Mary, and Lidy. It is always a pleasure to join them in providing a little flower therapy for our readers. While the garden is fast asleep, January is the month I dream and plan for spring and summer flowers. I really miss being able to walk outside and cut flowers from my garden, but for now it is the grocery store variety! Settle in with a steaming cup of coffee and a warm throw…

Once all the Christmas decorations are removed, it seems that our home is a little drab and bare. Do you feel that way? I love getting everything put away and the house cleaned. January is a great time to invite friends over to share comfort food, like a hearty bowl of chili or potato soup. I set a table with that in mind.

Happy second day of 2020! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Day. We had a quiet one after a fun New Year’s evening at my brother’s and sister-in-love’s home.

If you are a regular reader, you know I have three series that I write on a regular schedule…Tablescape Tuesday, Simple + Southern Sunday, and Monday Morning Blooms. I was invited to join three very talented bloggers in early 2018 to what was originally called Floral Friday. These three ladies are so creative and I am more than thrilled to be in the company of Shirley, Mary, and Lidy.
