If you are ever in central Tennessee and have the time, check out Fall Creek Falls State Park. The park contains over 30,000 acres with a lot of waterfalls and hiking trails. We are fortunate to live only two and one half hours away, and also happen to know some folks who have spent a few days there this past week. Happy Thursday sweet friends. Whew…it has been a hot summer in our Appalachian Foothills and the heat continues! Prayers for our neighbors to our east who have been impacted by Debby.

I have a tall glass of sweet iced tea with a slice of lemon for your enjoyment as we venture out in the relentless August heat to view our garden’s most colorful and longest lasting flowers…zinnias.

Happy Sunday to you all. The skies of last week had a lot to offer, as July gave way to August. The “dog days ” of summer will be with us through next Sunday. The dog days of summer can vary from source to source but have traditionally become tied to the dawn rising of the Dog Star, Sirius. The Farmer’s Almanac says the 2024 period is from July 3, through August 11. So, happy dog days also!READ MORE
