Welcome to the final week of August. A thought struck me when viewing this chapel. Quite a few songs have “chapel” in their lyrics, and/or their title. For example, if you are old enough to remember Elvis, you may have heard his version of “Crying In The Chapel”. That song reached number 3 on the charts in the US and number 1 in the UK in 1965. The dog days of summer are now over, but the lazy, hazy days will linger for a while. Even with the haze, a view of Weiss Lake and the Coosa River valley from atop Lookout Mountain in the southern Appalachian foothills “ain’t bad”. Hello sweet friends! I can’t remember exactly when RM started writing my Simple + Southern Sunday posts. As you all know, he is an outdoorsman and a keen observer of nature. I know so many of you enjoy his observations, unique style of writing, and photography. Over the past few years, he has amassed an amazing photo collection of wildflowers. I thought you might enjoy having some of these collected in a post that you could refer to if needed. I will do my best to organize these for you by season. This is not even close to being exhaustive, but today I offer you Wildflowers of Spring!
