“Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth”
Psalm 124:8
We saw single digit temperatures this past week in our area! But, we still managed to enjoy getting outside for photo opportunities!
Upon first look, I thought this was a small private chapel! This Gothic style structure was built in the 1840’s and is known as the Bleak Hall Plantation ice house and is located on Edisto Island, South Carolina within the Botany Bay Wildlife Management Area. These are our sweet friends visiting the island last week!
Our beautiful Noccalula Falls after heavy rains last week!
Every season, including winter, has its own beauty! A bare tree and a swift creek against the cobalt blue sky! May we see God’s beautiful creation with fresh eyes in our everyday living.
The thaw is on, even though the air temp is below freezing. The sun makes all the difference. In everyday living, the Son makes all the difference.
Our South has beautiful old homes. We took this photo last summer in Kentucky.
The eagle pair that nests at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Did you know that eagles mate for life? You can watch them here: Berry College Eagle Cam
Mother eagle laid the first egg on Tuesday, January 6, and the second one on Friday, January 9. I began watching the eagle cam last year and I became totally fascinated!!
With our very cold weather, there is nothing better than an afternoon of journaling, reading cookbooks by my favorite chef (Frank Stitt), the smell of a winter candle, and a salted caramel hot chocolate!! Bliss!
Sun and light are amazing! Two very cold days, one with no sun and the other with sun and brilliant blue skies!
What a difference a day makes-the view of our Appalachian foothills!
Oreo enjoying his stay inside during the cold weather
I have enjoyed reading since elementary school, thanks to an inspiring teacher! And I guess you can call me “old school”-give me the smell of a book, and let me turn the pages! Not really into electronic books! A new book store, The Reader’s Exchange, recently opened in our historic downtown and I was able to take a stroll through this week!
Looks like sweet Beau enjoyed his first trip to Disney!
“I was glad when they said to me,
‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’”
