Is It Spring Yet?

Happy Tuesday, friends. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for spring! Meteorological Spring begins March 1, which is this coming Saturday and I am going with it. This winter seems to have been extremely cold, gray, and wet in our Appalachian Foothills! I thought flowers would cheer me up since I am battling a bad case of pneumonia. I hope the happy and colorful displays cheer you as much as they have me!

A floral watering can of purple stock, mini pink dianthus, yellow aster solidago, and burgundy dianthus joined foraged native oak leaf hydrangeas from the woodlands. Then came the morning…daybreak and twilight offer sights and sounds like no other time and trigger a thousand thoughts. There were so many sunrises to choose from this year that it seems unfair to the others, but this one from February has a story, so it wins the spot. This particular morning the temp was in the 20’s, and in order not to miss the timing, I rushed out in sweat pants and a tee shirt, returning to the house as an icicle 30 minutes later!READ MORE

I came across another inviting spot by the river while hiking the other day. It was so inviting I decided to sit on this old log for a while. I’m always in a hurry and feel like I need to be doing something, but a few minutes here wasn’t a bad idea!
