I wandered to my “sunrise place” a couple of mornings before sunrise last week only to find mostly clouds. This is typically a really good spot to enjoy a lot of color with spectacular skies , but having perfect weather and cloud cooperation is not always a part of everyday living. It was nice to see I was not the only one who had  gone to a bit of trouble to be browsing around in the cool of the day! I think we surprised each other.READ MORE

Happy Tuesday sweet friends! Our gardening has gotten off to a slow start. With both of us having the flu at the same time, we certainly are behind. The Head Gardener has done all of the work so far, because I can’t seem to get my energy back.

Honeysuckle is a common, widely distributed vine that many of you are familiar with. It may seem unusual that I might begin a post with honeysuckle, but there’s a special reason that, admittedly, will probably only be special to me. As I hiked along a trail near the lake last week, I was overtaken by a sweet fragrance that filled the air around me. Like songs, certain smells can stir up memories. After 3 and a half years with no sense of smell, I stopped in my tracks, overwhelmed by the fact that God had given me another spring to enjoy the unmistakeable scent of honeysuckle. I had not considered that this would ever happen again!READ MORE
