It’s Spring In The Sunshine Cottage

Happy Thursday, sweet friends. We have had gorgeous weather this week. The kind of weather that is perfect for outdoor work. Since RM has retired (sort of), he hasn’t had an idle moment. He has found so many outside projects that will keep him busy for the remainder of the year. My dear man never sits down, it just isn’t in his DNA!

I have been spring cleaning, fluffing, and organizing in the Sunshine Cottage over the past few weeks. There is still more to do and it seems that is always the case. Come on in, it’s spring in the Sunshine Cottage!!

Since I love to play with dishes, the shelves give me opportunities to display dishware seasonally and for holidays. Portmeirion Botanic Garden dinner and salad plates, with their beautiful flowers and butterflies, are ideal for spring! Speaking of butterflies, RM has been seeing monarchs almost daily as they pass through on their migratory flight. So far, he has been unable to snap a photo.READ MORE

A major clearing last year, mainly removing a thicket of privet, opened up our view of a wooded area east of the house. This gave us a much better view of this large tree that I have since named the “Tree of Reconciliation”. Many years ago this tree experienced a separation and a division occurred. At some point, probably after quite some time had passed, there was reconciliation and a coming together once again. It’s never too late!READ MORE

Hello sweet friends. Can you believe March has arrived? After so much rain, we have had three beautiful days of sunshine with temps reaching the low to mid seventies.

My heart has been so heavy for the people of Ukraine, it has been difficult to bring myself to even share a blog post. Thankfully, I can always find hope and comfort in God’s Word.
