The Danube Finale – Budapest

Happy Thursday dear friends. We have enjoyed several days of sunny skies and temperatures in the 60’s. Spring surely can’t be too far away, but who knows?!

Today is the last installment of our Viking Danube River cruise that we took last September. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and join us for my favorite destination of the trip…Budapest! It is often called the ‘Pearl of the Danube’ or ‘Little Paris’.

This iconic building is amazing during the daytime, but is magnificent at night! The Hungarian Parliament Building is a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination in Budapest! What appear as stars overhead are actually birds flying.READ MORE

I have places that top my list as destinations I’d love to visit. I can mark one off the list as we were blessed to spend a few days in Budapest last September. At the final stop of a wonderful Danube River journey, we decided to extend our Viking river cruise and stay a couple of additional days in Budapest. The Four Seasons Gresham Palace Hotel, seen here at the end of the famous Chain Bridge, provided much, much more than just a convenient and comfortable place to rest at night! READ MORE

We are so glad you are here as we continue our cruise down the Danube River. Our stop today is Vienna, Austria’s capital city and Europe’s center of classical music. Strauss and Mozart composed many of their finest pieces here.
