Happy Thursday sweet friends. I hope your week is going well. It has been a week of rain in our Appalachian Foothills with very little sunshine. The weeds are growing in leaps and bounds, so you know where you can find me!

Long-time readers know that we love to travel. For the past seventeen years we have made many trips across the Atlantic and have traveled to many places right here in our beautiful country!

Hiking in the mountains above Montana’s Bitterroot Valley offered stunning views! Montana is a favorite destination for Butch with more visits than he can count.

2020 was certainly different as far as travel was concerned. We usually travel somewhere to celebrate our February anniversary. Last year we were able to enjoy a trip to Old Edwards in Highlands, NC before the country was shut down. Our only other travel was three days at our favorite getaway, The Swag, located in the Smoky Mountains! Did you know that The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park? Irish Blessings

Hello sweet friends. The past two days have been perfect with beautiful sunshine and nice temperatures! I so hope you are seeing a few signs of spring, or at least anticipating its arrival!

I rarely post on Fridays but with St. Patrick’s Day coming in less than two weeks, I wanted to revisit our trip to Ireland and a couple of St. Patrick’s Day tabletops from the archives.

My Renaissance Man and I both have Irish ancestry. RM is 40 percent Irish and I am a sixty percent combination Irish, English, and Scottish. We traveled to the British Isles in 2015, I guess you could say back to our roots. Everything we had been told about Ireland’s beauty was true. Return To The Vineyard

Hello dear friends. It seems that we are in the grip of August heat, pop-up showers followed by steam baths! By this time, I am looking forward to autumn. Typically, we love to travel during fall, it isn’t as crowded and the temperatures are pleasant. Since we have no travel plans in 2020, we are revisiting a favorite autumn road trip and you are invited to come along. Let’s return to the Vineyard…that would be Martha’s!

When traveling, I always do my homework before I book a place to stay. Charlotte Inn in Edgartown did not disappoint.

An interesting note: A Hallmark movie, A Godwink Christmas that aired in 2018 is the story of the Charlotte Inn owners, Gery and Paula Conover. It is a sweet story about how they met over thirty years ago with the Inn also playing a starring role.
