As the days grow longer, catching a sunrise means getting up earlier. I was out very early Friday and it was still quite dark. It appeared overcast, and I had no thoughts of getting a sunrise photo, just a little morning exercise. But you never know when the clouds will take a short break. This is also the area where the local skunk clan hangs out, but gladly there were no encounters this day!READ MORE

Last week, you may recall, our sunrise pic was provided by Pam, who took a short golf cart ride before sunrise and captured a super nice photo. That same morning, I left out before daylight and traveled about one half mile, climbed a steep ridge in the dark, and arrived on top before sunup. This is my cell phone photo. There was just too much effort for me not to display my work…although hers was much better, mine was somewhat different!READ MORE

I must give credit where credit is due; Pam took a golf cart ride yesterday before sunrise and sent me a pic to verify. I had taken a hike up the ridge about a half mile away. There weren’t any clouds around, but what a picturesque scene with architectural interest provided by bare trees and cedar trees in the foreground! (And Pam got to hear a turkey gobble; so exciting…to me anyway)
