I so enjoyed a hike early last week on a cold afternoon. I walked a path that I don’t travel as often as I should. I was simply wanting to take in winter scenes and decided to head east. It was about 30 degrees, but the pics probably make it look a bit warmer. The thorns on this rogue Bradford pear are really noticeable in January!READ MORE

Having to brave the cold at times these days to catch a sunrise. It also takes getting out a bit earlier as the days are now noticeably longer. We did escape the snow, but many in north-central and northwest Alabama had quite a winter storm last week!READ MORE

So thankful to have had winter mornings that are cool, but not too uncomfortable for January. Change is now in the air and this week is predicted to be very cold, unseasonably cold for us. If Pam will have hot chocolate ready each morning (I’ve never had a cup of coffee) I might try for another sunrise one of these upcoming frigid mornings. Key word is “might”!READ MORE
