“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”
Proverbs 16:24
I don’t know about you all, but with it being in the 60’s in September, I think it’s time to say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn! Now I know the season doesn’t officially change until September 22, but would it be ok if I jumped the gun and wished you all a big warm “Happy Fall, Y’all” from us here in the South?! With the crisp air, the beautiful changing leaves and the warm soups we fix this time of year, it makes for the perfect season to entertain family and friends at tables that are warm and inviting!
Every week here at Everyday Living, many of you join me for Tablescape Tuesday, and I am often asked how I have set a different table each week for 3 years. The short answer is: I get creative using what I already have! It may seem as though I have something new for each setting, but if you look closely each week, you will see many things repeat themselves…especially dishes. You do not have to break the bank to create pretty table settings! You can change up the linens, chargers, stemware, etc and they make each table take on a whole new look! Today I want to offer a few suggestions for your autumn tables that will take the guess work out of decorating that perfect autumn table!
Quilts, whether they are vintage or new, bring warmth to a table. I will never forget the first time we were invited to dinner at our friends’ home and she used a beautiful quilt on her table…that was more than 30 years ago and it made a lasting impression on me!
