2016 Southern Living Idea House {Part Three}

Today, we are closing out our tour of the Southern Living Idea House!  I’ve enjoyed your comments on Part One and Part Two, and for more information, you can visit their website here. The quaint Town of Mt Laurel, where the Idea House is located, is a planned community of homes, restaurants, shops, and even a Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings!  Maybe a trip for an Autumn day!!

Today’s tour is the last look at the Idea House…let’s go upstairs!


As we climb the stairs, you’ll notice that they are covered in a Rugby Stripe by Dash and Albert…and take note of the charcoal drawings lining the walls…


…and as we reach the top, we set our feet on the landing that serves as a family space, designed by Ashley Gilbreath!

Tablescape Tuesday: An Elegant Evening

Have you all noticed how much I love color?  I like it in my wardrobe, in my home, and of course on my tables!  I’m just a big fan of color!  But sometime it’s fun and even necessary to change things up a bit!  This past weekend, on a whim, I decided to do something totally different for this week’s tablescape.  I put away the color, and let the white and gold take over for a more elegant look and feel.  Butch (Renaissance Man) and I put a lot of work and effort into this one, but in the end, it was worth all of the sweat drops and trips to and from the kitchen!  Step into our garden and join us for an “elegant evening”!


An elegant tablesetting called for the dining room chairs to be moved into the garden…they are so heavy and that is when Butch had to step in and rescue this damsel in distress!READ MORE

2016 Southern Living Idea House {Part Two}

And we’re back…in The Town of Mt Laurel, home of the 2016 Southern Living Idea House!  Five different designers came together to decorate this outstanding home in celebration of the five decades of the publication of Southern Living!  Many festivities surrounded the big anniversary, and here at Everyday Living, we had out own little celebration here!

Last week we walked through the dining room, kitchen, and family room…I hope you all enjoyed!  Today, we visit the foyer, living room, and master suite!  There is much to take in!  The Idea House is featured in Southern Living’s August issue, now on newsstands.  Are you ready to step inside out of the heat?!  Me too…let’s go!


The foyer welcomes you into the home and brings in the outdoors with its moss-toned walls.  The space was designed by Ashley Gilbreath.


A 10-foot long antique English table centers the foyer with an antique French seascape that hangs above.
